Who are procision ?

Procision was established in 2012 with the aim of providing a professional football development experience to players with ambitions to play at the highest level of football.

Over time the emphasis whilst remaining deeply rooted within football has extended to the education of players and coaches alike to offer realistic and achievable pathways for progression.

Procision now offer an extensive range of football and education opportunities for players of all abilities from the age of 6 through to 23.

Programmes in Reading, Newbury and Oxford make up the Procision group with all being aligned in providing a platform for players to achieve their full potential on the pitch and in the classroom!

ACADEMY PROGRAMMES

The Procision 16 to 23’s football and education academies offer a programme that combines academic studies alongside professional coaching and playing opportunities for aspiring footballers.

Our flexible education offer caters for the diverse study requirements of our students and the demands of following an elite sports performance programme.

FOOTBALL PERFORMANCE PROGRAMME

Our full-time programmes are carefully planned by our extensively experienced team of UEFA qualified coaches, performance analysts, sports therapists and strength and conditioning coaches.

The programmes are at the cutting edge of elite player development to provide a player centred approach that focuses on the individual. Players will work within four key areas; technical, tactical, physical and psychological to prepare them for the demands of football at the highest levels.

WHAT DOES THE PERFORMANCE PROGRAMME INCLUDE? • Up to 8 hours on the training pitch with UEFA ‘A’ and ‘B’ License coaches.

• Strength and conditioning sessions catered specifically for the individual.

• Up to 4 hours goalkeeper specific sessions.

• Post-match recovery sessions.

• Weekly fixture programme that challenges players at the appropriate level.

• Individual and team video analysis sessions.

• Nutritional advice and diet plans.

• Access to sports therapists for injury prevention, identification and rehabilitation.

• Individual learning plans and regular one-to-one performance reviews with football staff.

EDUCATION

Our programmes provides a diverse education platform that can ensure and secure a university placement in the UK or US beyond Year 13 amongst other exciting pathways. We have a team of highly qualified and experienced tutors to ensure every student is pushed to achieve their full potential and ultimately the highest grade possible.

ENROLMENT PROCESS STAGE 1: Completion of a successful football assessment.

Information on assessment dates is available on our website www.procisionfa.co.uk and social media platforms (Twitter, Instagram and Facebook).

STAGE 2: Completion of a successful interview with the academy manager and head of education.

STAGE 3: Receipt of a reference from the student’s previous school or college.

STAGE 4: Purchase of kit package in time for the start of pre-season at the beginning of August.

STAGE 5: Attainment of the required number level of GCSE grades as detailed in the table.

COURSE SUMMARY Our football and education programmes operate in the same way as a school sixth form or college as we are regulated by the same governing body – Ofsted.

The full combination of football and education will commence at the start of September and conclude no later than the end of June. There is an expectation for student athletes to attend pre-season training throughout August to prepare them to meet the demands of competition.

A typical day will start at 9am and finish at 4pm, however this is dependent on the requirements for the student to resit Maths and/or English, attend gym and performance analysis sessions. All site timetables are slightly different due to the different facility restrictions but will involve all of the elements detailed in the timetable on the following page.

NCFE LEVEL 3 DIPLOMA/ EXTENDED DIPLOMA IN SPORT AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY THESE QUALIFICATIONS: • Focus on the study of the sport and physical activity sector • Offer breadth and depth of study through the delivery of up to 18 different units • Provide opportunities to acquire a number of practical and technical skills

THE OBJECTIVES OF THESE QUALIFICATIONS ARE TO: • Allow students to gain an in-depth understanding of the sport and physical activity sector • Give students the opportunity to investigate career opportunities in the sport and physical activity sector • Allow students to choose content which relates to their own interests, aspirations, and progression choices

EVERY STUDENT ON A NCFE LEVEL 3 STUDY PROGRAMME WILL RECEIVE: • A minimum of four tutor led subject lessons every week • Additional catch-up lessons if they need further support • Weekly tutorial lessons on wider cultural topics • Maths and English GCSE resit lessons if a grade 4 or above is not achieved • One-to-one sessions with football staff to discuss individual development plans • Performance analysis sessions to review and provide tactical feedback • Gym sessions to enhance physical conditioning and performance • Parents evening twice per annum to discuss academic progress

A LEVELS (BLENDED LEARNING) All A Levels are 360 hours of content – this is not taught hours but links to the expectation of commitment in terms of hours per subject. The subjects are delivered via the Moodle online learning platform.

In each course the student will then work through the content at their own pace using the text, videos and activities. At the end of each section there is a mini assessment to complete.

Within the course there are also tutor marked assessments to be completed. These are based on past papers and help the student to develop effective exam skills. The tutor will provide detailed feedback on these papers to help the student identify and tackle any weaker areas. Students will have access to the forum where they can talk to other students following the same course.

The Management and Support teams will also have access to the data and performance of the student and can highlight any concerns linked to the subject completion.
