1. Conceptual cube

Conceptual cube I am asked to design 3 cubes about Fragmentation and dissolving. The cube should have 6 different sides with interesting design.

Plaster We are asked to choose an angle of the model and enlarge it for 100 times. i.e. Enlarging 20 mm x 20 mm x 20 mm to 200mm x 200 mm x 200 mm. And using plaster, cottle board and foam to made a plaster model.

This is the first time for me to make plaster, I have failed for 3 times before I made a success one, but what I have learnt is the method and proportion of making plaster.

Landscape We are asked to design a landscapr for our work, and the first design brief require us to build from the top to the ground, and I generated this idea of using trianglar shapes.

Collage We are asked to make a collage from our plaster and pedestal. The theme is death. Also Manfred take us to watch senior years work, and tell us to have more negative space in our collage with lots of layers.

My idea is having Einstein sitting in the center and watching people to go to his grave. The elements around him is the story of his life time, i.e. his college, his wife, his birth place.

3D Design Layout Before I start making my product, I have developed a set of isometric drawings. There are totally 10 pieces of sketches to process my design. The isometric drawings are base on the John Hejduk’s Nine-square grid exercise I have drawn.

2.Arhitectural model : A Cabin The cabin To start with, I have chosen 3 stones (around 20cm) in the park, and made six different massing model and interlocking. Then, I chose the best one and enlarge it by 300%. Meanwhile, I have also tried the pereoration testing before I open up the ‘windows’.

Furniture for urban nomad We assume, sooner or later, Hong Kong people will not able to addord the high living cost and will only be able to afford a temporary rental space for living. Afte staying at a place for a few months, they need to move to another space to continue their living.

Hong Kong people will become urban nomad, wandering aroung the city for living. hong Kong people need to develop a personalized mobile living device that they can move to anywhere when they have to.

Furniture for urban nomad And I have chosen the scenario as a Fashion design who also need to sew her design by herself. She always working day and night so she probably need a large working station rather than resting spaces. I have designed a very large working station and a wardrobe to let her store her materials.

The appearance of the furniture is like a cotton roll to like a representation of fashion designer. The furniture is formed by a cover with desk and a big wardrobe.
