Retired navel officer turned beekeeper savagebee-ches.boutique Kemi Paylocak spent more than 21 years in the Navy and now dedicates her time to family, business and serving underrepresented and under-resourced communities in San Diego County. She is the founder and president of bese saka Community Development Corporation. The organization focuses on the climate and environment, commerce, education, health and wellness, infrastructure and tourism. As mentioned, Kemi is also now a beekeeper. Her love of the environment and nature has her paying homage to her sweet sense of adventure. In addition to making her own honey, Kemi recently opened a new specialty store in San Diego's Old Town. The new shop, owned by Kemi and her husband Mike, is called Savage Bee-ches. What’s buzzworthy about their store is that it features the raw and organic honey that Kemi makes and also sources honey from other local beekeepers and from beekeepers around the country.
