APPRECIATION MONTH

An Emphasis On Local Business

Business owners are job creators and risk takers who contribute to our tax base, donate to local causes, and do so much more to contribute to our local community.

Virginia has cemented itself as a leader in the business world, remaining in the top 3 states to do business for years. According to the Prince William County Economic Development, there are currently 9,690 businesses in Prince William County alone.

"Over 99 percent of America's 28.7 million firms are small businesses. The vast majority (88 percent) of employer firms have fewer than 20 employees and nearly 40 percent of all enterprises have under $100,000 in revenue," says City of Manassas Economic Development Director, Patrick Small. "Given those figures, it's obvious why the City of Manassas places most of its economic development focus on existing business retention and expansion with a particular emphasis on small business."

During Business Appreciation Month, the Chamber encourages you to support the local businesses that are the heartbeat of our community by hiring local firms, partnering with neighboring businesses, meeting new business partners, and by learning more from your local Economic Development Offices.
