10 YEARS OF COACH FOR COLLEGE

Over the past decade, the PVC has sponsored more than 60 Tiger studentathletes to participate in the Coach for College program in rural Vietnam. This unique summer service initiative combines student-athlete’s passion for education and athletics by inviting them to serve as coaches and educators to underserved Vietnamese students. Five Tigers participated in the program this summer, marking the tenth cohort of Princeton student-athletes to serve abroad through Coach for College.

“Encouraging the Vietnamese children to fulfill both their academic and athletic potentials was the most rewarding aspect of this experience. Creating an environment in which the children were able to explore their passions, be curious and create genuine connections to both their coaches and peers was both important to the program and rewarding to self.

I am grateful to have had this opportunity to learn and lead and am pleased with the way this experience has shaped the person I am today.”
