Princeton High School was named Tri-M® Music Honor Society State Chapter of the Year! FRANCIS DONE Tenor, Junior, year 2 in VCE Activities: Vocal Chamber Ensemble, A Cappella Choir, Track, Spring Musical “Cinderella,” NJROTC Air Rifle Team, PT, Church Choir, Youth Group, Media/Camera Crew Favorite thing about VCE: Having time with the VCE family and dancing. I love everyone in this group.

ISAIAH DUDLEY Bass, Sophomore, year 1 in VCE Activities: Vocal Chamber Ensemble, A Cappella Choir, Thespian Troupe, Student Council President, E.P.I.C., Hope Squad, DECA, cast member of “30 Minute Shakespeare, Spring Musical “Bye, Bye Birdie,” Student Director of “Clue, and currently in the cast of “Cinderella,” and a member of the Cincinnati Black Theater Company. Favorite thing about VCE: I love how Mr. Dendler has high standards for us so it pushes us to do and be better. I also like being able to sing and dance, two of my favorite things.

DREW DUNLAP Tenor, Sophomore, year 1 in VCE Activities: Vocal Chamber Ensemble, A Cappella Choir, Varsity Cross Country, Tennis, Scarlet Band, Marching Band, former member of orchestra. Favorite thing about VCE: The special events we’ve gotten to sing at like Christmas on the Loop.

GLORIA DUNLAP Alto, Senior, year 2 in VCE Activities: Vocal Chamber Ensemble, A Cappella Choir, Student Council, Cross Country, Lacrosse, Key Club, National Honor Society, VIKINGS, Princeton’s Young Life, and Phi Lamda Pi Teen Service Group. Favorite thing about VCE: My favorite thing about VCE is the amazing people I get to call family. The fact that we can come together and unit our voices in song and dance is something I will forever cherish having the opportunity to do.

Favorite thing about VCE: I love the energy that we have created in VCE. Creating new and different relationships when people who have one thing in common, the love of singing.

TIMOTHY MARKSCH Bass, Senior, year 1 in VCE Activities: Vocal Chamber Ensemble, A Cappella Choir, Swim Team, Water Polo, Captain of Chess Team. Favorite thing about VCE: My favorite thing about VCE is the bond and sense of community, just like a sports team or something.

Favorite thing about VCE: My favorite thing about VCE is of course singing and then of course singing with people I enjoy hanging out with.

Favorite thing about VCE: Spending time with my friends and doing something that I love.

CHRISTIAN RIVERA Tenor, Sophomore, year 1 in VCE Activities: Vocal Chamber Ensemble, A Cappella Choir, Marching Band, PHS musicals. Favorite thing about VCE: My favorite thing about VCE is the fun music that we sing. I also like that we go to perform out of school a lot.

RACHEL SHERWOOD Soprano, Senior, year 2 in VCE Activities: Vocal Chamber Ensemble, A Cappella Choir, Symphonic Orchestra, Class of 2023 Secretary for Student Council, Tri-M Music Honor Society, National Honors Society, Youth Built Change Research Program. Favorite thing about VCE: I love being a part of a group where everyone loves to sing. It’s fun to get closer with my friends while doing what I love. Both the vocal and dance rehearsals are something I always look forward to.

MARIELLE SMITH Alto, Senior, year 1 in VCE Activities: Vocal Chamber Ensemble, A Cappella Choir, Vice President of E.P.I.C., PHS productions of “Cinderella” and “Bye, Bye Birdie,” Co-host of “Viking Voice,” church ministries, enjoys playing guitar and singing for community events. Favorite thing about VCE: My favorite thing about VCE is being able to sing for our Princeton Community with my friends.

DANIEL STEELE Soprano, Junior, year 1 in VCE Activities: Vocal Chamber Ensemble, A Cappella Choir, Tennis, GSA, PHS Productions of “Bye, Bye Birdie,” “CLUE,” and “Cinderella,” playing in a band with friends. Favorite thing about VCE: The challenge and the strong bonds between everyone.

KASSIA WILLIAMS Soprano, Senior, year 1 in VCE Activities: Vocal Chamber Ensemble, A Cappella Choir, OrchestraLacrosse, Cheer, PHS Productions of “The Wizard of Oz,” “Fiddler on the Roof,” and “Cinderella,” Favorite thing about VCE: My favorite thing about VCE is meeting new people and growing a bond with all of them. VCE is like a family and I am not ready to have to say goodbye to these amazing friends.


Director David Dendler is in his 23rd year of teaching vocal music at Princeton; 36 total years in music education. He earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Vocal/ Piano Music Education from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio. He is a composer/ arranger/ vocalist/ pianist who has been published in Plank Road Publishing's Music K-8 Magazine, General Music Today, and Music Educators Journal. Mr. Dendler has performed the National Anthem for the Cincinnati Reds, Cincinnati Bengals, and Cincinnati Cyclones. Mr. Dendler and his family live in Liberty Township.


KARIE-LEE SUTHERLAND, Choreographer Karie-Lee Sutherland has worked professionally in the entertainment field for over 20 years. As a singer/dancer, she toured the world performing for the DOD-USO and is a veteran of live shows at Kings Island. She has also worked for King’s Productions, where she wrote and directed touring shows for Yogi Bear, Scooby Doo, and the Flintstones. She was a Broadcast major at UC’s Conservatory of Music, and has received several Orchid Awards, as well as a State Octafest Award for choreography. Karie-Lee has worked as an actor, director and choreographer for various theater companies in the Cincinnati area, including Covedale Center for the Performing Arts, Showboat Majestic, LaComedia Dinner, Theater, and Educational Outreach Shows for Cincinnati’s Playhouse in the Park. Favorite Regional Theater roles include Morticia in The Addams Family, Tanya in Mamma Mia, Miss Santra in All Shook Up, and Velma Von Tussle in Hairspray. She has attended Broadway Teachers’ Workshop in NYC, where she took classes in dance, actor’s movement and direction with instructors from the Broadway productions of Newsies, War Horse, and Tony Award winning director John Rando, and is Part-time Faculty at Miami University where she teaches Musical Theater Dance. Karie-Lee is very proud to be a part of the CCM Preparatory Department Theater Arts Division faculty.

*The Princeton Music Boosters honor the memory of Joan Meier by naming one of their membership levels in her name. She was a Princeton Music Teacher (1960-1995), Leader, Colleague, Advocate, Visionary, and Friend. She oversaw the development of the Princeton music program into one worthy of state and national recognition. Under her leadership Princeton music educators were empowered to develop superior programs, which has enabled tens of thousands of students to experience a comprehensive education in music. Fondly known as "Mother Meier,” choirs under her direction consistently received Superior ratings. Her service to the music profession was recognized in many ways throughout her career, including statewide office and receipt of the OMEA Distinguished Service Award. Her legacy of high achievement and commitment to music education remain an integral part of the education program in the Princeton City School District.
