Dear Friends of Princeton Day School, As we enjoy together our school’s 50th year, we are fortunate to be able to come together – whenever circumstances allow - to celebrate her success and many prospects. So it is this year, on this single night, when the upper gym is transformed by lights, music, revelry, and the sound of parents, faculty, and friends laughing, toasting, and bidding up one item after another. After several years in hibernation, the auction has returned! Panthermania has arrived. It did not come alone, but rather in the happy company of our co-chairs, Spence Decker and Beth Enck; the Parents’ Association and its President, Joanne Elkadi, and President-Elect, Naru Narayanan; countless volunteers; and its many sponsors, underwriters, and donors, all of whom have given so generously of their time and resources. To each and all, I offer my thanks and best wishes. Funds raised from this event will benefit all of our children, through support for faculty professional support. In that way, each dollar we raise (and each friend you outbid) will be used to enhance the quality of student experience. We simply could not have designed a better event, or a worthier cause. I know you will join me, the faculty and staff, and many parents and friends, as we toast our school’s great past and ready ourselves for its brilliant future. With bidding paddle in hand, Sincerely,

Paul J. Stellato

Welcome to “Panthermania”, Princeton Day School’s 24th annual Auction. This is a wonderful and exciting occasion to come together for our 50th anniversary. I would like to take the opportunity to acknowledge and thank our Auction Co-Chairs, Spence Decker and Beth Enck, for their unwavering dedication and tireless efforts to bring us such a fun-filled evening. Funds raised through this year’s auction will support faculty professional development. A well-deserved thank you goes to our Auction Committee members and all of our other volunteers whose hard work played an integral part in the success of tonight’s auction. I want to also thank our entire community, as this year’s auction could not be the success it is without your support. I look forward to enjoying and celebrating this evening with you. Sincerely, Joanne ElKadi President, PDS Parents Association

AUCTION RULES AND INFORMATION

All sales are final. No exchanges or refunds are permitted. All items are sold “as is and the bidders are responsible for reading carefully any specification and/or limitations. Unless otherwise specified, all items or services must be used within one year after March 6, 2016. All auction items and certificates must be paid in full with cash, check, MasterCard, Visa or American Express. Please make your check payable to Princeton Day School PA Auction. Please make and confirm all vacation reservations well in advance. As a courtesy to our donors, the PA requests that all vacation homes and parties be enjoyed by PDS families only. By making a purchase you waive any claims for liability against either the school or the donor of the property or services; neither the school nor the donor is responsible for any personal injuries or damages that may result for the use of the property or services bought.

TAXES AND DEDUCTIONS

When you bid on items at the auction, please be aware that Congress has issued guidelines regarding the deductibility of amounts paid for items purchased at fundraising auctions like ours. The following statements represent general guidelines about deductibility under the law. They are derived from materials prepared by the National Association of Independent Schools. Individual circumstances may vary; therefore, we urge you to consult your tax advisor to determine specifically how the rules apply to you. When you buy an auction item, only the amount you pay in excess of the fair market value of that item is considered a deductible charitable contribution. If the amount you pay for an item is less than or equal to the fair market value of the item, then no portion of the amount is considered a deductible charitable contribution. In addition, the amounts paid for items for which no fair market value could be established are probably not considered deductible charitable contributions under the new rules. The price of the auction general admission ticket is not a deductible charitable contribution. However, those who purchase a sponsor ticket may take a $60 charitable deduction for each ticket purchased.

108. Three magnums of Napa Valley’s finest wines

Vineyard 7 & 8 is the culmination of a quest that began with a patient and measured search for a vineyard property in the Napa Valley which met the Steffens family’s specific requirements for being an already established vineyard or land with outstanding potential for growing premium grapes. That search ended in 1999, when they acquired their forty-acre property on Spring Mountain, planted in the early 1980’s to eight acres each of Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay.

22

The winery is named in recognition of proprietor Launny Steffens’ life and background in the world of finance. An appreciation for numerics and keen interest in numerology lead to 7 & 8 - “Seven” being a number of luck in western culture, while “Eight” follows the meanings of prosperity and happiness in eastern culture.
