MAKE A DIFFERENCE FOR A BRIGHTER FUTURE FOR NEPAL
Support Madan Bhandari University of Science and Technology GET INVOLVED!

Madan Bhandari University of Science and Technology is unlike any university that has existed in Nepal.
It was explicitly conceived as an institution that can deliver significant and direct impact on the economy of Nepal, thereby helping to meet the desire of the Nepali people for a “prosperous and just Nepal.” To achieve this ambitious vision, the university is marked by several distinctive and even unique features.
1. The university focuses on applied research of the highest quality that responds to the urgent needs of Nepal’s agriculture and industries. Its research outputs will give key economic sectors of Nepal a competitive edge and contribute to their accelerated growth, especially the ones that are based on the country’s unique ecological conditions and cultural heritage. The advancement of general education is not the university’s goal.
2. It started with only PhD and master’s level programs, in close collaboration with highly regarded institutions abroad. It is already building a reputation for high-quality research outputs. The university plans to introduce
4. The university, though government-funded, has an unprecedented degree of independence to avoid any political influence. The university is governed by a Board of Trustees (BOT) and the Trustees are selected by a committee of independent experts.
5. The university views a sound institutional culture to be the cornerstone of its effectiveness. Helped by its unique governance structure, the university has firmly established an institutional culture of transparency, accountability, and meritocracy. It does not allow corruption or discrimination in any form. The focus is squarely on delivering impactful research work and training

This is an audacious and exciting project that can change the future course of Nepal profoundly. If you wish to become involved in supporting MBUST, there are three ways to help.

If you have world-class expertise in the relevant areas of research at MBUST, please consider becoming a partner. Visit MBUST through its website: https://www.mbust.edu.np and write to info@mbust.edu.np
If you wish to help financially, please donate through the Everest Fund of Science and Technology, a 501 (c)(3) entity established in the US for the sole purpose of raising funds for MBUST. Its website is: https://www.everestfundst.org
If you wish to donate in Nepal, please see the instructions on MBUST’s website: https://www.mbust.edu.np/fund-brochure/ There is no minimum threshold for donation. Every dollar or rupee helps. More than 400 people have donated.
If you know people who may be interested in helping MBUST, please share this pamphlet with them.Even a small donation can make a difference.
To enable students to engage in full-time graduate studies, MBUST offers financial support to cover the tuition and modest stipend. (As MBUST students are older than undergraduates, they often have families to support, which makes full-time studies difficult.) $3,000 per year can support one PhD student and $2,000 per year can support a master’s level student. Even small donations can add up to help a few additional students. For every student, MBUST education is a life-changing experience. They all feel passionately about helping Nepal through cutting-edge research work. Your contribution will not only change the life of each student but also the future of the country.
