Another year has seemed to fly by and here we are at Bull Sale time again! I would like to thank all of our buyers and bidders and all that attended our sale last year and made it a great success! More importantly, thanks so much to our return customers! We look forward to working with you all again in this coming year and hope that the friendships that we have created will continue to grow as we work together to provide you with the best breeding stock for your individual operations.

As the pendulum swings again, the beef industry realigns itself and looks positive with the outlook to be healthy for the long term. We feel that the bulls that we have on offer this year will add pounds to your steer calves come fall as well as leave you very complete and function females that you can either use as replacements for your own herd or market as some of the best Replacement Females in the Industry! We all know the earning power of Gelbvieh Genetics in our commercial cow herds!

We are excited this year to offer a select group of Replacement Heifers as well as a couple Excellent Genetic opportunities. We will be selling the Right to Flush one of our great cows FRSQ 29T! She has an excellent EPD package as well as outcross genetics. As well we will be offering a Package of frozen embryos from one of our donor cows that we purchased from Judd Ranch in Kansas JRI 254S97, a Maternal powerhouse, with a couple ET calves that are in this year’s sale!

EPD Explanation & Changes to the new CGA National Cattle Evaluation (NCE) EPDs are “Expected Progeny Differences”. They are a useful tool in selection. EPDs incorporate the individual animal with its averaged ancestry performance.

The CGA and the AGA has moved to the American Simmental Association’s NCE this spring below are some of the benefits: • Higher accuracy WW EPDs due to the addition of historical and future weaning weight records to the NCE analysis by including early weaned data, past, present and future.

• Increased EPD accuracies for Percentage Gelbvieh and Balancer animals since the joint analysis with the ASA will include a larger

of the industry. The focus our herd starts with the Females; very sound udders, great feet and legs, and productivity through thick butted, deep bodied animals without sacrificing calving ease. Our goal is to provide you and the industry with moderate birth weight bulls that will get up and go and keep growing to get you the highest weaning weights possible! Our bulls have been fed a high fiber, high roughage, total mixed ration of hay, silage and pellets. NO GRAIN! Temperament is also an issue with us; you will find our cattle quiet and easy to work with!

New this year we are collecting ultrasound data that will supply us with more in depth Carcass data. Again this year, we are testing all the sale bulls for the homozygous polled gene. This gives you the buyer an added tool to select a bull that you can be guaranteed that he will take 100% of the horns off his progeny. The results will be available late February as well as posted sale day!

Terms & Conditions...

Terms - The terms of the sale are cash or cheque payable at par at sale location unless satisfactory credit arrangements have been made prior to the sale.

The right of property shall not pass until after settlement is made. We reserve the right to require a certifi ed cheque as settlement before releasing any sale cattle. Should the purchaser fail to settle for his purchase, we reserve full power to resell the animal to the best advantage, either publicly or privately, without further notice. Any loss arising from such resale together with keep and all other expenses shall be payable by the defaulter. All settlements must be made with the clerks of the sale before any cattle will be released. The owners and sale staff have the right to refuse bids from anyone who has a previous record of default in payment and/or who has not made credit arrangements prior to the sale with the owners and/or sale management.

Bid - Every animal consigned to the sale must be sold by auction. No by-bidding will be permitted. Each animal will be sold to the highest bidder.

Disputes - In cases of disputes, bidding will be re-opened between the parties involved. If no further bid is made, the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision in such matters will be fi nal.

Purchaser’s Risk - Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold. Announcements from the auction block will take precedence over printed matter in the catalogue. Buyers are therefore cautioned to pay attention to any such announcements.

Certificate of Registry - The proper registration or recordation paper, as the case may be, will be duly transferred and furnished to the buyer for each animal after settlement has been made.

Sight Unseen Purchase Program: If you are unable to attend the sale but are interested in bulls, give Roger or one of the sale consultants a call and they will personally go over the bulls and your program and recommend bulls that would meet your needs and represent you in a professional and confidential manner.

Bull Developement & Delivery: Bulls will be delivered for free within 200 km and can be delivered anywhere at a minimal cost. Bulls can return to the farm and be picked up at the buyer’s convenience prior to April 1, 2016. Bulls will be held at the farm until April 1 for free. After that date there will be a $4/day charge. There will be a $50 discount for bulls taken home the evening of the sale. BUYERS NEED TO INSURE BULLS RETURNING TO THE FARM.

dance with breed guidelines. Should a problem occur barring physical injury or mismanagement, a bull of equal value will be provided or a credit will be issued towards the purchase of another bull. We guarantee you will have a bull to service your cows.

Exception to Guarantee - In cases where the animal is subjected to any hormonal or surgical reproduction techniques after the sale, the guarantee shall be null and void. In the cases of bulls, they are guaranteed to breed naturally according to applicable Canadian Breed Association guarantee, but no guarantee is given that semen from any bull will freeze.

Health - It is the buyer’s responsibility to determine health requirements for importing any animal into his province or state.

Accidents - Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and comfort of buyers, neither the sale management, auctioneer, or association assumes any responsibility in this matter and disclaims any liability legal or otherwise in the event of accident of loss of property.

Rights and Obligations - The above terms and conditions of the sale shall constitute a contract between the buyer and the seller and be equally binding to both. Resale of animals following purchase in this sale shall constitute a separate transaction and the rights and the terms and conditions for this sale do not cover obligations of the two parties connected thereto.

He was part of the Championship pen of Three Bulls at the NWSS in Denver as a yearling and we have received many compliments from the people that have seen him. He Is Homozygous Polled, boasts a 785lb 205 day weight and an Adj. YW of 1339. His Grand Dam is one of the breeds most influential dams and was a huge part of Judd Ranch’s Donor program. He has already been taken note of and we believe that he will be a breed changing bull that will have a lasting impact on our herd and the breed with the Bulls and females that he will sire. We have calved out several of his daughters this year and we are very pleased and it renews our excitement as we continue to retain females from him in our herd. We purchased this bull to add a touch more frame and power to our cattle to keep up with the demand for High performance bulls that will wean those scalebusting calves in the fall. This year the offering of his bull calves are outstanding as the largest sire group and I believe that you will be very impressed! As an individual he had a 205day weight of 815 and a YW of 1325 along with a yearling scrotal of 43cm and as a mature bull is 46cm!
