THE FUTURE OF FREIGHT
In September 2026, MegaTrans will bring together leaders from across the supply chain in Melbourne to explore the future of freight and logistics in Australia. With domestic freight demand projected to grow by approximately 26 per cent – representing an increase in freight value of AUD $30.42 billion by 2050 – there has never been a more critical time to invest in building resilient, efficient and sustainable supply chains.
According to long-term freight forecasts from the Bureau of Infrastructure and Transport Research Economics (BITRE), Australia’s total domestic freight task is expected to rise from around 756 billion tonne-kilometres in 2020 to approximately 964 billion tonnekilometres by mid-century.

ROADMAP TO RESILIENCE
MegaTrans provides the platform to workshop solutions to the challenges facing the industry. With a combined exhibition, conference and careers hub, the event provides an unparalleled opportunity to discuss what the industry needs to ensure it is resilient in the face of future challenges. From ensuring Australia’s infrastructure is up to the task, to building a highly skilled workforce, the event will look at every opportunity to improve and provide a roadmap to resilience.
