Fastening and Joining with research focus on automation and reliability of joints as the weakest link in various mechanical and structural systems in automotive and transportation systems, power plants, aerospace industry, as well as for bio-medical applications such as spinal, hip, and knee joint replacement.

Multi-Feedstock Biomass Densification (Pellet Mill) Ethanol, Biodiesel, Gasification Demonstrations


Human Health  Bldg  DemonstraAon   Geothermal  Heat  Pump  Demonstra=on   UAlize  a  ground  sourced  heat  pump  HVAC  system.     Variable  Refrigerant  Flow  Technology   UAlize  variable  refrigerant  flow  (VRF)  heat  pumps,  allows  for  less   compressors  and  enhanced  internal  heat  recovery.     Solar  Thermal  Desiccant  Dehumidifica=on   Dedicated  outdoor  air  supply  units  will  uAlize  a  thermally   regenerated  desiccant  dehumidificaAon  secAon.    A  large  solar   thermal  system  along  with  a  natural  gas  backup  boiler  will   provide  the  thermal  regeneraAon  energy.  


Task Develop  DemonstraAon  Site  to  idenAfy,  evaluate,  install  and  measure   Emerging  LighAng  Technologies  (ELT)  and  their  performance  within   specific  applicaAons  and  design  parameters.     Purpose   • Increase  public  awareness  of  ELT   • Compare  product  performance     Scope  includes   • Minimum  100  luminairres   • At  least  5  –  6  manufacturers   • Demonstrate  HID,  LED  and  other  ELT   • Parking  Lot  /  Area  LighAng     • Roadway  LighAng
