Competition entry for hill of arts , turin - Young Architects Competition

Situated in Savoy Villa, Turin, Hill of Arts is a retreat for artists and a place where enthusiasts and visitors can live a regenerating experience. It will be a place where the most distinguished creative minds can meet to outline, improve and comment on contemporary artistic trends. The design uses the chronology of “ Hero’s Journey” by Joseph Campbell in relation to life of an Artist undergoing his own personal journey to evolve his consciousness. This farmhouse is set amidst a sea of herbal trees i.e. Terminalia Arjuna, which is popular for its medicinal values. Originating from a simple idea of a hammock suspended between trees, the larger concept aims to capture the rhythm of the site. The transitional spaces are designed creating fluid semi-open spaces that can accommodate different activities, eliminating the divide between the exterior and interior.
