A beautiful baby girl was born on June 8th 1949, in the quiet and picturesque settlement of Steventon, Exuma. Her parents, The Late Herbert William Nixon and Lillian Hamilton named her Sadiemae Lenora. Affectionately called Sadie.

Sadie attended the Exuma All Age School (now Rokers Point Primary School) in Rokers Point, Exuma. Exuma held a special place in Sadie's heart and she was proud to call herself an Exumian. Sadie often shared stories of her childhood, reminiscing about going to the "shag" and working in the field early in the morning before school.

Sadie was passionate about cooking and baking bread and cherished spending time with her family. Many people knew her as the "Bush Tea Lady" because she had an incredible ability to identify various plants and share their uses. Sadie was known for her loving and kind nature, a characteristic that many can attest to. In the 1990's, while living in Montell Heights, she became one of the first persons on Bowe Ave to sell food from her home in the neighborhood.

After some time, Sadie ventured out from Steventon in search for employment throughout The Exuma Cays. There she met and later Married Garnet John Rolle and relocated to Staniel Cay where they were blessed with two sons, Jude Garreth and Arime Abdul. During her time in Staniel CaySadie worked at the Staniel Cay Yacht Club and Happy People Marina. Later, she moved to Nassau and found employment in the Ministry of Education. A few year after relocating to Nassau, Anceneo was born. She worked in various departments before settling down at Claridge Primary School as a filing assistant before her retirement in 2014. She then returned to her beloved Exuma.

On November 7th 2023, Sadie was diagnosed with stage 3 Endometrial Cancer and from that moment on she started her fight. After numerous trips in and out of Princess Margaret Hospital, she came home to spend the rest of her time. On October 20th 2024, Sadie quietly transitioned from here to eternity.

There is no sorrow that heaven cannot heal.

And can it be that I should gain An interest in the saviors blood?

Died he for me, who caused his pain For me, who him to death pursued? Amazing love! How can it be, That thou, my God, shouldst die for me? Amazing love! How can it be, That thou, my God, Shouldst die for me?

Tis mystery all: th'Immortal dies; Who can explore His strange design? In vain the firstborn seraph tries To sound the depths of love Devine. Tis mercy all! Let earth adore, Let Angel minds inquire no more. Tis mercy all! Let earth adore, Let Angel minds inquire no more.

Prayer | Rev. Wilkinson Francis Prayer Response | What A Friend We Have In Jesus

No condemnation now I dread; Jesus, and all in Him, is mine; Alive in Him, my living Head, And clothed in righteousness divine, Bold I approach th'eternal throne, And claim the crown, through Christ my own. Bold I approach th'eternal throne, And Claim the crown, through Christ my own.

Obituary | To Be Read In Silence

Hymn | It’s Alright Now

Although the trials seem hard to bear, I’m glad I counted the cost; And now my burdens with Jesus share, I’m glad I counted the cost.

Twill not be long till the Lord shall come, I’m glad I counted the cost; And bear my soul to that heav'nly home, I’m glad I counted the cost.

On a hill far away, stood an old rugged cross

The emblem of suffering and shame

And I love that old cross, where the dearest and best

For a world of lost sinners was slain

So I’ll cherish the old rugged cross

Till my trophies at last I lay down

I will cling to the old rugged cross

And exchange it someday for a crown

On that old rugged cross, so despised by the wordl

Had a wonderful attraction for me

For the dear lamb of God left his Glory above

To bear it to dark calvary

In that old rugged cross, stained with blood so devine

A wonderous beauty I see

For ‘twas on that old cross Jesus suffered and died

To pardon and sanctify me

Then let our songs abroad

And every year be dry

We’re marching through Emmanuel’s ground

We’re marching through Emmanuel’s ground

To fairer worlds on high

To fairer worlds on high

Old Rugged Cross Father Along

There’s a line that is drawn through the ages

On that line stands an old rugged cross

On that cross, a battle is raging

To gain a man’s soul or its loss

It is finished, the battle is over

It is finished, there’ll be no more war

It is finished, the end of the conflict

It is finished and Jesus is Lord

One one side, March the forces of evil

All the demons, all the devils of hell

On the other, the angels of glory

And they meet on Golgotha's hill

The earth shakes with the force of the conflict

And the sun refuses to shine

For there hangs God's son, in the balance

And then through the darkness he cries

Tempted and tried we're oft made to wonder, Why it should be thus all the day long; While there are others living about us, Never molested though in the wrong.

Father along we'll know all about it, Father along we'll understand why; Cheer up, don’t worry, live in the sunshine, We'll understand it all by and by

When death has come and taken our loved ones, It leaves our home so lonely and drear; Then do we wonder why others prosper, Living so wicked year after year

As I have traveled through the years, time has taught me many things. Perhaps the greatest lesson I have learned is that it is so important to Express our gratitude and our love to the special people in our life. That’s why I want to say thank you for everything you have done for me. Throughout your latter years after retirement, you moved to Exuma and Every chance you got to hang out with us, it was a great blast! I knew I had a special place in your heart. Sleep on Aunt Sadie!

When we see Jesus coming in Glory, When He comes from His home in the sky; Then we shall meet him in that bright mansion, We'll understand it all by and by Jazzy

Aunt Sadie, I can hardly express how much I will miss you. Your warm smile, your soothing voice and your vibrant spirit. As I return to Nassau, it breaks my heart knowing I can’t call You to say I’m coming over to do your nails. I regret not bringing That beautiful green polish you requested on my last trip but I Hope I still managed to make you feel special. I’m thankful for the Time I spent with you, especially in the latter part of your life...

Sleep On Aunt Sadie

As I write this tribute, I find it difficult to fully express the love, respect and admiration I have for you Auntie Sadie, you will be deeply missed. While my heartaches at your passing, I find peace in knowing that you are no longer in pain. I will always cherish your warm embrace, your comforting voice, and your invaluable lessons. Today, as we gather to remember you, we are filled with sorrow but also with gratitude. Though you may no longer walk beside us, your love surrounds us in everything we do. The legacy you left will forever live on in our hearts. Thank you for allowing me the chance to say goodbye and for sharing those final moments with me, your memories will remain with us always.

With love, Always
