Why robinia wood? Robinia wood is the only type of wood cultivated in Europe to be found in durability class 1. Durability class

Robinia wood can be used outdoors without any need for prior treatment, making it a good alternative to tropical wood. Of all the types of wood available in Europe, robinia wood deserves special attention thanks to its resistance to abiotic and biotic influences. The main reasons for robinia wood’s high level of natural resistance are: Early tylosis formation: ‘Tyloses’ are invaginations of primary cell walls that can block vessels and prevent the transport of water and oxygen. Fungi and insects are thus deprived of a food source in wood where a high level of tylosis has occurred. Early hardwood formation: After just a few years, the robinia begins to store rubber and tanning agents. As a result, there is only a small amount of less durable, juvenile wood in the centre, and only a low amount of exterior sapwood (consisting of about 3—5 growth rings). The subtances: that make the heartwood so hard are robinethin and dihydrorobinethin. There are no wooddestroying insects living in our latitudes that can target these substances in the robinia wood. Variety of colours If left unglazed, robinia wood develops a silvery patina. This natural colouration gradually becomes darker, particularly where water reacts with the wood’s tannin. “Water stains” will appear, albeit for a short while only. Eventually, the wood will end up with a naturally beautiful, silvery coating that matches its earthy feel. This is the standard ‘finish’ on all of our playground equipment. Its resistance makes it maintenance-free, with no additional protection required in the form of wood preservatives or glazes.
We do of course also offer a wide range of colours. Whether corn-coloured or multi-coloured, the elements can be coated with a complete (or partial) glaze. At our factory we are able to apply exactly the coloured glazes you want for your equipment.

Slide and play towers We developed our Mountain Cottage with its stainless steel slide as part of a collaborative effort with a children’s after-school programm. Getting up to the top of the slide is a something of a challenge – children have to use the climbing wall, a rope ladder or a climbing rope. Thrilling climbing challenges up, underneath and on the house ensure a truly entertaining playground experience. There are also a table and seats for those quieter moments.

Like in a real “village community”, all children – from the old to the very young – can “pull their weight”. Joining forces, they can transport the sand upwards using the lift and feed it back down in the special gutter. The bridge between the two play towers is quite a wobbly affair, training children’s concentration. The climbing tower, with its pretty gabled roof, has a slide to round off the fun factor.

In addition to the European standard EN 1176, we create our barrier-free accessible playground equipment in accordance with DIN 33942, the German standard on barrier-free accessible playground equipment. An example here is our “Sylt” combination, which we designed for a clinic. We adapt our equipment – down to the very last detail – to the needs of disabled users. For example, the angle and position of the slide need to be adjusted to accommodate limited motor skills and specific types of movement. Platforms and play towers require a certain height as well as wheelchair-friendly ramps and handrails. We would be happy to develop an individualised barrier-free combination with you.

We have designed an entire village for true rascals, allowing them to fulfil that uncontrollable urge to really let loose and climb to their hearts’ content. Making their way through the “Rascals’ Village”, little ones will find themselves in an adventurous climbing course. Rustic net bridges connect the three playhouses, allowing easy access from house to house. Platforms provide access to the inside. The combination provides great hiding places, and as a “village” it’s ideal for creative roleplaying games.

Everything from one source: We developed this unique playground, which centres on a large tree house, for a client in Grethen in Germany. From the initial concept right down to the very last screw, design and construction are both taken care of by us – and us alone. We plan, design and build all of our constructions ourselves. This means we can stay flexible and cater to all of the needs of our clients. We can use particular shapes, colours

and attachments to lend any playground equipment a certain character that is perfectly suited to its surroundings. Here in Grethen, the shape of the net tunnel, routes and bridges as well as the individual artistic design of each element strike the perfect balance with the playground’s setting – the forest.

Maritime fun Our “Noah’s Ark” play ship is a classic favourite among the ships we offer. The lovingly designed animal details, such as the elephant and butterfly, are true eye-catchers here that can become a central part of those imaginative role-playing games. A climbing net, ladder and upper deck provide plenty of opportunities for exercise and play. A bench and table in the space
beneath the upper deck allow children to rest and relax. You can also add a stainless steel slide and/or a net ascent to the standard version of our “Noah’s Ark” ship. Lawn provides sufficient protection in the event of a fall.

As well as plenty of exciting places to climb on deck, the “Treasure Hunter” has spaces where children can sit and take a break. On sand, the open floor also offers fall protection on the inside, at the same time doubling up as a large sandpit. There is an inner platform in the hull of the pirate ship, where children can also play and climb.

Our Lighthouse stands proud at ten metres high. We first built it for the Saargarten park in Beckingen. Children can climb up inside. The long, tubular, stainless steel slide, which begins at a height of six metres, is especially thrilling.

Zip wires The Zip Wire shows children the meaning of speed. It is just so much fun to hop on and get going. They can develop a good feel for balance, and learn to overcome their fears. Sandpits Sandpits are where the very young can meet and make friends. Sand has a unifying effect, encouraging children to “bake cakes” and “build castles” together. Children are stimulated to interact with each other and train their social skills. Our creative sandpit designs include original shapes with lovely additions and figures. The logs which form the edges of the play area also serve as seating.

Kids’ Buffet at the Aquamaris Beach Resort – Ruegen Island We constructed a “Kids’ Buffet” for the four-star “Aquamaris” beach resort on Ruegen Island; it also serves as a meeting point as well as a painting and play area for children. The careful details – big and small – lend it a special charm. For example, there are hand-painted skulls and crossbones, a mast with a pirate flag and a large play cannon on a movable carriage. Rustic barrels provide seating. The light, artfully designed wall painting ensures an authentic maritime feel. We’ve succeeded in creating a feel-good area for all young hotel guests! The buffet can be adapted to any room. Please speak to us about creating your own version.

Amazon Paddle Steamer – Leipzig Zoo We constructed a ten-metre paddle steamer for Leipzig Zoo’s new South America zone, complete with stainless steel slide, a helm and even details like a compass and a tube telephone. Across three floors and in narrow corners and corridors, young adventurers can set out on exciting expeditions. A fitting addition in this South American world is our Indian-themed play equipment, which includes a Teepee and a Totem Pole and helps little ones to lose themselves in their Indian games.

Themed playground Impression equipment “Leucanthemum gigantes” An enormous ‘daisy plant’ in a flowerpot is at the heart of a unique plant-themed playground which we designed and built for the visitors’ park at a garden centre. In addition to lovingly sculpted wooden figures, children can enjoy a climbable, oversized watering can and a flowerpot complete with playhouse. A garden rake where kids can swing along, a nest swing, a double swing, springers as well as two tubular stainless steel slides are also on hand to ensure plenty of exercise in this elaborate climbing paradise.

Themed playground equipment Usedom Pirate Island Baltic Sea pirates ahoy! For a family hotel’s in-house leisure park, we came up with a rustic pirate-themed play area boasting an eight-metre-high lighthouse with spiral staircase, an enormous pirate ship complete with water cannons below deck as well as a number of original designs such as the “Stormy Sandpit ”, which is shaped like a shipwreck. Playful carvings give the area a character of its own, while places like the pavilion offer seating for kids to relax between exciting games.
