Teaching Style: Liz has been teaching violin from beginner to advanced students for over 20 years. She has taken students from starting violin at age 5 to the top high school youth orchestras. Liz’s goal in teaching is to make music fun and inspiring. She is patient and gears her teaching to the student's learning style. Her mission is to provide a positive experience while instilling the fundamentals of music and technique of the instrument. She enjoys watching each student grow and develop at their own pace. Her favorite moment is when the “light bulb” goes off when the student discovers what they have been working towards. It could be in playing a song or realizing a positional technique. It's a unique shared feeling of accomplishment for both in the lesson.
Liz started playing violin at 9 years old and has never looked back. Liz is classically trained as a violinist. She played extensively in Symphony and Chamber Orchestras. One of her biggest and most exciting experiences as a musician was playing in the World’s Music Festival in Vienna, Austria with the Marin Youth Orchestra under the direction of Hugo Rinaldi. The orchhestra placed third in the world. Since then Liz has studied and performed in numerous genres including Celtic, Jazz, Rock, and American Fiddle. She has also added singing and acting to her resume of study and performance.
