COUNCIL MONTHLY REPORT August 2023
Utilities Director, Neil Wadsworth, Earns 25 Year Service Award
Congrats to Neil Wadsworth, Utilities Director, on his 25 years of dedicated service to the Town of Prescott Valley! Neil's keen understanding of the intricacies involved in managing water and wastewater systems has been pivotal in navigating the challenges that come with growth and development. His innovative solutions and forward-thinking approach have consistently ensured that the residents of Prescott Valley have access to high-quality water resources, even during times of increased demand. Congrats Neil!
Woody Lewis Recognized for 38 Years of Service
As of August 15, 2023, Prescott Valley's Chief Building Official, Woody Lewis celebrated 38 years of service to the Town. Woody is a humble man whose interest in the public sector stems from his love of helping people. A native Arizonan, Woody's favorite part of working with the Town is that every day is different and constantly changing. Some may think Woody would have some retirement plans lined up, but he doesn't. He says he likes his job and he's having fun, and until then he's going to stay here. Woody has probably stepped foot in most of the buildings in the community and has seen incredible changes in the Town.
Parks & Rec Team Shines at Arizona Parks & Rec Conference
The Town's Parks & Rec team attended the Arizona Parks & Rec Association (APRA) conference in August At APRA, they enjoyed workshops, connected and learned from other Parks & Rec professionals, as well as met with potential vendors for upcoming programs, and vendors that will help update the Parks maintenance systems They brought back new ideas to help the department grow and make their programs, parks, and events better than ever! Both Steve Adame, Volunteer Coordinator, and Casey Van Haren, Community Services Director, had presentations at the conference. The team spent time bonding and learning together, and we are looking forward to the knowledge they bring back to our community!

Prescott Valley Turns 45
On August 22, 1978, Prescott Valley officially became a town, when 80% of the residents voted for the incorporation. This year, Prescott Valley celebrated its 45th birthday! To celebrate, we shared fun Prescott Valley historical facts on the Town’s social media pages, such as the original home for Limitless (PV’s first public art piece), the horse corrals at Mountain Valley Park, and a missing time capsule!
Community Shows Up for National Night Out
On August 3, 2023, Prescott Valley Police officers and Town staff celebrated National Night Out by visiting eight block parties throughout Prescott Valley This event provides an opportunity for the community to interact with officers, command staff, and other town officials about programs such as Cops and Kids, Citizens and Youth Police Academies, crime information for your neighborhood, streets, and road maintenance, or any other Town issues Parties had festive decor, offered light snacks and refreshments, and yard games for people to enjoy.
