I like hearing the bad comments, so we can use that as an aid to help prioritize what we need to work on to improve or change.” Recently, Brian has been working on a new slate of winter menu items that he’s excited for residents to experience in the coming months. When he’s not working to serve top-notch cuisine to residents of Lawrence Presbyterian Manor, Brian enjoys spending time with his family.

Year after year as I walk into a new year, I have learned nothing lifts the desperate, weary heart like the promises of God. In a world full of despair, depression, anxiety and instability, we do not need more opinions or hunches — we need the definitive declarations of our mighty and loving God. Max Lucado, a pastor and counselor, asks, “What are you anchored to — the circumstances of life or the promises of God?” He says that for every problem in life, God has given you a promise. Make 2 Peter 3:13 one of the building blocks in your foundation. It reads, “In keeping with God’s promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells.” God has promised to reclaim his creation. He is a God of restoration, not destruction. He is a God of renewal, redemption, regeneration and resurrection. God loves to redo and restore. “I am making everything new!” he announced in Revelation 21:5. Everything new. The old will be gone. God will lay hold of every atom, emotion, insect, animal and galaxy. He will reclaim every diseased body and afflicted mind. I am making all things new! This is God’s promise. And because God’s promises are unbreakable, our hope is unshakable! Therefore, together we will step into the year 2022 claiming God’s promises for a blessed New Year! I invite you to sing with me one of my favorite Johnny Nash songs:
