Calendars arrive The 2018 Art is Ageless calendars are now available! Three Emporia artists had their work chosen to appear in this edition.You can pick up a calendar now in our front office. A $10 donation is suggested.

Angel Season Before long, you’ll see the Angel Tree going up in our lobby. Every December, Emporia Presbyterian Manor accepts donations to our Good Samaritan program via the Angel Tree. For each individual who makes a donation in honor or in memory of a loved one, a friend, or a former resident, a commemorative ornament will be placed on the tree.

The program assists residents who have outlived their financial resources through no fault of their own. Please consider supporting our community in this way as you plan your holiday giving.

A thankful community Community members share their thankfulness Throughout November, please make time to visit our Atrium Gallery and browse the Gratitude Tree. Each leaf on the tree will feature statements from residents and staff members about the things for which they are grateful in this season of Thanksgiving. Stop by and add your own!

We also asked some of our community members to share words of thankfulness here: Nina Gragg, independent living resident, is “grateful for a safe and secure place to live, and for a loving family and good friends.”

Belinda Castillo, CMA in assisted living, is thankful “to be at the manor and grateful that I’m able to take care of the elderly, same as I would like my mother to be treated and taken care of.” Belinda added, “I love what I do and always will.”

Crystal Stock, marketing director, is thankful for “life in general. I am blessed to have a wonderful family and a great job with thoughtful and kind co-workers.”

Clayton has been with hospice since June and is still facing terminal illness with no cure. But, with his hospice team’s focus on providing medical care and emotional support that enhances his quality of life, Clayton has had more good days to be able to make memories with his loved ones.

Meet Jen Moran
