Community appoints new human resources manager

In December, Manor of the Plains welcomed Tasha Konrade as its new human resources manager.

Prior to joining the community, Tasha had most recently served as the office coordinator/service coordinator at Prairie Independent Living Resource Center where she managed the company’s offices in both Pratt and Dodge City. Before that, she worked as a career navigator for the Kansas Department for Children and Families.

Tasha received her associate degree in business management and leadership from Barton County Community College and is currently working on obtaining her certification in human resources. Away from work, Tasha is active in the community, belonging to several workforce and leadership groups in Pratt and Dodge City. She also runs a small business based out of her home. u

Cheering for March Madness

Independent living resident Darrell Hopper looks forward to this time of year because of March Madness. The NCAA basketball tournament begins March 21. So, we wanted to find out what Darrell likes about it.

1. What team/s do you root for?

I’m going to have to hang with K-State. I have been a fan for quite a while. Ever since I’ve been old enough I’ve been a fan of K-State however I didn’t attend there.

(I went to school in Korea). They’re aggressive, playing good ball and their heads are up. They’re always out there giving their best. It’s a really enthusiastic team. I think the coach has done a wonderful job bringing them where they’re at in a short time.

2. Did you play basketball?

A little bit in high school. I was never a very good basketball player. I just enjoyed the game. I played more football, baseball, and track.

3. What excites you about March Madness?

I try to watch a lot of games. I do get quite interested when they’re televised and I don’t have anything else to do, I just as well enjoy the games, which I do.

It brings the best together and that’s what you like to see. It shows you quite a bit of talent in a short period of time.

I don’t fill out a bracket. I never did feel that I was wise enough to do that. u
