Mother’s Day Tea On Saturday May 11, we had our first Mother’s Day tea party. Life Enrichment Director Kristen Pedigo invited residents and their families and friends to a 2 p.m. tea party where she had hats, white gloves and a special activity. When the weather decided to give us a break from the rain, we were able to take two groups of residents to visit the Clay County Museum located at 518 Lincoln Avenue in Clay Center. The museum has two floors of artifacts that are staying very true to its mission “to bring together those people interested in history and the history of Clay County, Kansas.” We had a tour and were treated to a special surprise. One of the exhibits had an old sewing machine that had been donated by resident Russell James. How fun it was to share that special moment watching Russell and the other residents see the piece he had donated years and years ago as part of the museum tour. u
