Editor’s Note: In a nod to our Presbyterian heritage, we regularly feature a column from a PMMA® chaplain in our newsletter. This month’s column comes from Dinah Dutta, chaplain at Lawrence Presbyterian Manor®.

Do it with Style Let the good times roll with one of the Farmington Presbyterian Manor’s newest residents Jim Radford is a true original. A resident since March, Jim is the first person in Farmington Presbyterian Manor history to move in with his very own pinball machine. “I bought it last year and I didn’t want to lose it,” said Jim. Jim keeps the machine in his bedroom in an attempt not to disturb other residents, but he says it still attracts its share of attention—thankfully, it’s all been positive. “Everybody loves it when they walk by and hear me playing it,” said Jim. And, as the new guy to the community, Jim resident, Jim Radford! says that his pinball machine has also served as a really good ice breaker. “It’s a great way to make friends,” said Jim. Jim’s new friends even include members of the community’s staff.

“(Keely Jameson, Farmington Presbyterian Manor sales and marketing director) and the maintenance men will even come in and play a game with me,” said Jim. But the pinball machine is not the only thing that makes Jim’s place the place to be. He’s also a huge movie buff who brought along his own personal movie library. “You should see all the movies I have,” said Jim. “I used to collect the old VHS tapes but now I have DVDs.” Jim has a special affinity for old monster shows and creature features like

I will be completing two years doing ministry at PMMA-Lawrence. Oftentimes, many pastor colleagues ask me if I would go back to being a Dinah Dutta full-time parish clergy again. I tell them PMMALawrence has not only become my family but also my parish to serve God. When I was young, I used to write poetry. I used to read, memorize, and narrate poems. I still remember poems written by some of my favorite poets like William Wordsworth: “I wandered lonely as a cloud, that floats on high o'er vales and hills, when all at once I saw a crowd, A host, of golden daffodils; Beside the lake, beneath the trees, Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.” Especially now when I see the daffodils blooming around us. Another favorite poetess is Christina Rosette and her poem, Remember me - “Remember me when I am gone away, gone far away into the silent land; when you can no more hold me by the hand.” Recently, I found a book of poems that I used to read in our PMMA library, “So sing my heart” by Edna Abbot. Edna was a registered nurse. After she retired in 1983, she joined
