COMING UP IN COMMUNITY MATTERS:
Everyone has a story to tell
Staying in touch with your children, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren often means getting used to using some new technologies. How do you use technology to keep up with your family? How has technology made life easier? How has technology kept you close to family and friends who live far away?
If you’ve got a story to share about how you’re using technology, contact contact Heather Germann, marketing director, and your story could be featured in an upcoming edition of Community Matters.

It’s gorgeous! The next day they offered me the job and I just said, ‘yes.’ I think it was meant to be.” Linda will celebrate her ninth anniversary as administrative services assistant for Presbyterian Manor in September. Over the years she has stayed busy recognizing employee and resident birthdays, taking care of the dietary log, copying all the calendars for the activity director, managing the Manor Musings newsletter and taking care of whatever else needs to get done. Her favorite part of the day? “Interacting with the residents,” said Linda. “I love my residents. They’ll come up to my window and we’ll talk. That’s the best part of my job.Without them I wouldn’t be here.” The residents and co-workers are also the reason she’s stayed longer than expected. “I’ll be 70 in October and said I would retire at 70, but I’ve raised it to 72. I might raise it to 75,” said Linda. “I have great co-workers and my residents … I love each and every one of them. They take precedence over everything else.” When she’s not at Presbyterian Manor, Linda spends her weekends at the farm she and her husband own. She enjoys treating herself with a trip to Manhattan once a month and stays very involved with their church. She also enjoys driving back to California every couple of years to visit her son, his wife and her granddaughter. Join us in recognizing Linda for all her hard work during Administrative Professionals Day on Wednesday, April 27!
