JACKSON

2023 Premier Player of Pro Football

Jackson Wins Fan Award Again After leading the Baltimore Ravens to a 13-4 record (the best in the NFL) and the No. 1 seed in the AFC playoffs, quarterback Lamar Jackson has been named the 2023 Premier Player of Pro Football Award winner. This fan nod makes Jackson the first-ever two-time Premier Player of Pro Football Award winner. The Ravens quarterback won the inaugural edition of the award in 2019 when Premier Players began to acknowledge pro players for their regular season performance alongside its longer-standing college award. Jackson - still just 27 years old - will be a contender for this award for years to come if he can put together more seasons like he did in 2023. Jackson is the ultimate version of the modern-day NFL quarterback. However, he isn't your typical pocket passer - though he has certainly worked to improve that part of his game. Instead, he is an ultra-athletic, ultra-mobile passer who is a threat to score with his arm - or his feet - from anywhere on the field. His biggest strength is his versatility. At his best, it is almost impossible to game plan for Jackson, as the 6-foot-2, 215-pounder can glide through defenses with his legs when he pulls down the ball. Defenses try to spy on him, but he is often too fast. When they try to take away his receivers, he can be as dangerous with his throwing accuracy.

The dimension his skillset adds to an attack is unlike that of most players in the league. Jackson set several career-high marks in 2023. That took some doing because he already has an NFL MVP trophy. His 67.2 perfect completion percentage shows the time and study Jackson has put into reading NFL defenses and working through his reads. His 3,678 passing yards (also a career-high) show his want and ability to push the ball down the field. Add in Jackson's rushing numbers, and the Ravens quarterback accounted for just under 4,500 yards of total offense and 29 touchdowns. Voting Lamar Jackson as the 2023 Premier Player of Pro Football Award winner was a clear choice for his level of play and on-field leadership this season. His performance in Week 17 against the electric Maim Dolphins was the one that locked up this award. Jackson threw for five touchdowns and had a perfect 158.3 passer rating in a game that the Ravens had to have to secure the AFC North and No. 1 seed. With his future locked up in the Charm City, Jackson will only go from strength to strength over the rest of this decade as he pushes for his first Lombardi Trophy. 6 Questions To Help You Define Success

Here are some questions that I think are interesting. They help us clarify what we are trying to achieve. I'd encourage you to set aside a few minutes and chew on these. I suspect they'll give you a different perspective on what you'd like this year to be about. 1. What values and principles are most important to me?

experience possible? 3. Who do I hope to become?

* What kind of person would I like to be known as? * How would I like others to experience me?

* What is one way I could express each this year?

4. What contribution do I hope to make? To whom?

2. When was a time when I felt most successful and fulfilled?

5. In what ways might success look different in different parts of my life? (Family, health, spiritual, friends, contribution, financial, etc.)

* What was it about that time that made me feel that way? * What was it I did that helped make this

* Does success in any one area depend on success in another?

* Can I succeed in one area without succeeding in another? * Will that feel like success to me?

else's definition of success and don't have our own. It could be that when we are very clear about what we want, we aren't sure we're comfortable with how it sounds.

* Is there any one area of success that is most important to me?

Or . . . maybe we have clarity. We just need to start acting.

* What makes it more meaningful?

I hope these questions help you gain clarity. That you achieve success and that it's full of meaning and purpose.

6. How will I measure progress toward success? How would I know I'm 'getting closer' or 'I've arrived?' Simple. Not easy. These aren't complicated questions. But they aren't always easy to answer. Sometimes, we realize we aren't sure what we want. Maybe we discover that we've absorbed someone

Personal Branding: Why It’s Important

A personal brand is the acknowledged public perception of an individual, while personal branding is the deliberate process of creating that impression. The personal brand results from personal branding efforts to position and communicate that individual’s credibility as a thought leader.

Freelancers, Creators, and Influencers

Personal branding is what you say about yourself based on your experience, expertise, core values, and key differentiators. Developing personal branding helps you be seen as an industry authority, grow and build trust with your audience, grow your business, and ultimately make an impact as a mission-driven thought leader.

Why Is Having a Personal Brand Important? Today’s attention economy operates from the notion that attention is a scarce resource to constantly compete for. Now, couple it with the vast amount of digital information available across multiple digital platforms. You don’t need to run algorithms to understand that it’s harder than ever to capture and keep limited audience attention.

Essentially, if you are part of an organization, looking to build a career, needing to differentiate yourself from your competition, or simply want to be authentically seen, you need personal branding.

Who Needs Personal Branding? Anyone seeking to grow their business, attract an audience, or advance their career would benefit from personal branding. While there is an argument that nearly everyone has a personal brand, whether it was intentionally created or developed organically, there are people whose professional success relies on it. These people include business leaders, entrepreneurs, politicians,

Here are three more reasons personal branding is important. 1. It Provides You a Competitive Advantage There are thousands of people competing with you in the short attention span economy. People compete for the same customers, the same jobs, and the same audiences. Having a clearly defined personal brand that

differentiates your value and what you bring to the table helps you stand out in a crowd—even if you’re not in the same room. 2. Personal Branding Builds Trust People are cognitively wired to interact with people based on their level of trust. You yourself choose who you confide in or spend time with based on who you trust and avoid those you don’t trust. It’s the same with buying behavior. People buy from, engage with, and are loyal to personal brands they trust. Consistent personal brand messaging, visuals, and overall online and offline presence allow people to get to know you as an expert in your field. They come to expect that consistency and feel they have a relationship with you, which builds trust. 3. It Helps You Meet Business Goals According to the 2022 B2B Thought Leadership Impact Report created by Edelman and LinkedIn, “Thought leadership is one of the most effective tools an organization can use to show its value to customers during a tough economy.” The report also states that high-quality thought leadership has a greater impact on 50% of C-suite executives’ decision-making during economic downturns versus more prosperous times.

opportunity to ask yourself: - How have I positioned myself? - Have I differentiated myself in a way that is authentic to me? - Is my current personal brand reflective of how I want to be seen? - What is my personal brand missing? - Is there anything I need to address in my digital footprint that may be detrimental to my brand reputation? By conducting an audit, you’ll determine if your personal brand is up to date and uniquely you. You can also create your personal branding if one does not yet exist. How to Conduct a Personal Brand Audit Answering the following personal brand audit questions allows you to review your brand’s current state. It also provides you with the opportunity to create your personal brand.

These questions will reveal how you are presenting yourself online and how you are being perceived. Ideally, these will align, but don’t be surprised if they do not. This is true if your personal branding is not yet established or if you haven’t conducted an audit in some time. Personal Brand Positioning

Whether you are in B2B or in B2C, having established yourself as a thought leader through your personal branding opens doors to lead generation, speaking engagements, job opportunities, and more. What Is a Brand Audit? Creating personal branding or assessing your current personal branding begins with conducting a personal brand audit. A brand audit is a review of everything that makes up how your audience perceives you. This includes your professional bio, social media, website, headshots, blog, and videos. It also includes a look from the outside in, at your digital footprint, to see what people encounter when they type your name on a search engine. A personal brand audit provides you with the

Personal brand positioning is about building your personal brand’s perception in the mind of your audience. Having a deep awareness of how you are positioning yourself is the first step in conducting a brand audit. Respond to the questions yourself, then include individuals from your past and current professional network and trusted advisors for feedback. Ask people who will be honest with you versus people who will tell you what they think you would like to hear. - Who are you? - What is your mission? - What are your core values? Or, you now have done the groundwork towards developing an authentic and effective personal branding. Your personal brand will also be reflected in any blogs, articles, or other content you create, including books. Article by Kerrie Ann Nauseda – Frey. Forget sit-ups

These are the best exercises for sculpting a six-pack There are several benefits to working out — from strengthening the muscles that support your spine and avoiding injury to looking after your mental health. Yet as a new year rolls around, there’s one goal that millions of us return to — building six-pack abs.

for everyone — if you’re a complete beginner, you’re pregnant, or you’re returning to fitness following an injury, these might not be right for you and your body.

As a reminder, how visible your abs are depend on your overall body fat percentage. Your cardio levels, diet, sleep, stress, and hormones all contribute to your body fat percentage, so no ab workout alone will make a difference if you’re storing too much fat over your midsection. Here’s more on how to calculate your body fat percentage, and why it matters.

For all of the exercises below, you’ll need a bar, so you can pop your best adjustable dumbbells and best kettlebells to one side for these ones. This might mean heading to a gym, but you can also attach a pull-up bar to a doorway, just make sure it’s strong enough to hold your body weight.

But what are the best exercises to add to your routine if you are looking to strengthen your core? We turned to coach and home workout expert Matt Fox for inspiration. That said, these are more advanced moves, and won’t be suitable

The best exercises for sculpting a six-pack

“I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, core exercises while [you are] hanging, such as these bodyweight exercises cannot be matched. These exercises changed my life in many ways — they helped me overcome years of back pain, they took my core strength to new levels, and I only had a visible six-pack when I started doing these

exercises and calisthenics”, writes Fox in his Instagram post. Here’s the exercises to add to your routine: Hanging leg raises For this exercise, start by grabbing the bar with both hands in an overhand grip — if you can’t jump up and reach the bar, place a box by the bar to help you. Engage your core, and bend at the hips to raise your legs as high as possible — you’re aiming for them to be perpendicular to the ground, but this might take some practice. Pause when you’ve raised your legs as high as possible, before lowering them back to your starting position. This is an advanced move, and if you only manage a few reps, that’s okay — skip to the next couple of exercises. Hanging knee raises

As mentioned above, hanging knee raises are slightly easier than hanging leg raises. Once again, start by grabbing the bar with both hands in an overhand grip. Bend at the hips and tuck both legs up towards your torso, pause here, then lower your legs back down towards the ground. Hanging bike kicks Similar to the bike kicks you’d do on the ground, hanging bike kicks work your core hard. To do hanging bike kicks, crunch one leg in towards your body, bending at the knee, then the other. Keep switching legs, and as you gain confidence in the move, increase your pace — remember you shouldn’t be swinging on the bar, all the movement should be coming from your abs. Hanging L-sit/flutters This is one of the most challenging exercises, and one that’s tricky to master. Jump up and hold the bar with both hands in an overhand grip and engage your core to raise your legs into an L-sit

position and hold. Once you’ve mastered this, add some flutter kicks, raising and lowering your feet a few inches. What are the benefits? There are a number of benefits to working on your core that aren’t anything to do with a sixpack. A strong core can help protect the spine from injury, help you run and walk with better posture, and make everyday tasks like carrying shopping or lifting something down from a shelf. Another benefit of performing ab exercises on a pull-up bar is that you’re not putting any pressure on your spine during the workout. “There is no pressure on the back, in fact, it stretches it out”, writes Fox in the Instagram description. Your core also has to work extremely hard during the workout to keep your upper body stable. When lifting your legs, you need to actively think about engaging your core to prevent your body from rocking back and forth on the bar.

If this one is too advanced for you right now, there are a number of alternatives you can try to modify the move. One alternative is to use the Captain’s Chair machine in the gym, where you rest your body weight on your forearms, rather than hanging from a bar, making the exercises slightly easier, but still as effective on your core. Kelce & McCaffrey’s Play The X On Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers claimed divisional crowns to book their place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on February 11 to meet in Super Bowl LVIII. The Chiefs dominated in their 17-10 win on the road against the Baltimore Ravens, while the 49ers had roared back from 24-7 down at halftime to beat the Detroit Lions 34-31 on home turf.

didn't find the end zone against the Ravens, but he did catch all 11 of his targets for over 100 yards, making several drive-extending plays. Neither Mahomes nor Kelce was impressive (by their standards) in the regular season, but both are playoff animals, and they are showing up when it matters most.

Isaiah Pacheco Vs. The 49ers Run Defense This matchup feels close, one that either the Chiefs or 49ers could win. Here are two reasons why each could claim the Lombardi Trophy in Sin City, starting with the Chiefs:

Patrick Mahomes to Travis Kelce Stopping the Chiefs starts with removing Patrick Mahomes' best, favorite, and most consistent target. The duo of Mahomes and Kelce passed the pair of Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski for most touchdowns from a quarterback to a pass catcher in NFL playoff history earlier this postseason. Kelce

Isiah Pacheco is a fun watch. He is one of those players who plays every snap like it is the last he will ever take, running into the defensive line with power and explosion. He has become an integral part of the Chiefs offense - an excellent pass-catching back - and has averaged almost 20 touches per game in his six postseason contests. The 49ers have been secretly weak against the run this postseason. Chase Young is a monster pass rusher, but he can be run at. David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs tore the 49ers run defense up in the Divisional Round. Pacheco can do the same.

Factor In This Super Bowl Match Now the reasons that 49ers fans should be hopeful heading into Super Bowl Sunday:

talent on one roster is rare in the modern NFL.

Christian McCaffrey VS. The Chiefs Run D The 49ers Have All The Stars & Mr. Relevant The last pick of the draft will never be looked at the same anymore as Brock Purdy, picked last in the 2022 NFL draft, leads the 49ers to the Super Bowl. The team has a stunning number of star players who are among the best in their position in the NFL such as DL Nick Bosa, WR Deebo Samuel, TE George Kittle, and OT Trent Williams. The team had nine players chosen for the Pro Bowl this season, which was a league-high. They had another 12 selected as alternates (so 19 Pro Bowllevel players total), while seven of their roster members were named first- or second-team All-Pro. The key to their roster is that the talent is everywhere. If you take away the running game, the receivers will get you. They will swarm you with elite defensive ends if they drop back to pass. Having this

The San Francisco 49ers must learn from the AFC Championship game. In that contest, the Baltimore Ravens used their running backs on rushing attempts just six times against a Chiefs squad that ranked 24th against the rush at 4.5 yards per attempt during the regular season. The Chiefs never led by more than 10 points, so the Ravens abandoning the run made no sense. If Kyle Shannan is smart - and he is - he will try to make this a fight. Run Christian McCaffrey, run him again, then run him some more, rather than attack a Chiefs secondary with more than its share of high-level playmakers. Both teams will come in ready, but Kelce and McCaffrey’s play could be the X factor of the game. Article by Premier Players Steve Wright
