I have known sister Louise for years we worked in the soup kitchen at the New Testament Church of God at the Family Life Centre, Sheffield. She was dedicated to the work of God and was motivated to launch out in the deep and she touched so many people’s lives, and her life was such a blessing. A faithful, a praying, a dedicated and a quality worker for God. One of the songs we always love to sing is you’ve got to hold on. Now she’s gone on before it’s Heavens gain. Philippians 1 v21. Sister Brown see you on the other side. Rest in eternal peace.

I first met Louise many years ago when I worked as a health visitor, I worked in the area that she lived at the time and whenever I was in the locality and if it was lunch time, I would call in on her for a drink and a chat. Louise later became a member of our church, and we became good pals, she always had time for me. Louise was lovely, kind, caring and always ready to help in any way she could, always with a ready smile. In those days I was busy doing things in church, the local community and for my family. Because I was always ‘on the go’ she stopped calling me Anderson and gave me the nick name Skippy. Even when she was very unwell and struggling Louise took the time and interest to find out how I was, offer helpful advice and encouragement with a smile and a hug. Truly Louise is one of those people of who you can say don’t ask how did she die but how did she live, not what did he gain, but what did he give? Louise sleep on in your Father’s arms we will miss you but God saw you were getting weary and said come home my child and rest until then.

Mother Brown, that's what I called her she was a mother to me, she was my confidant, she was my prayer warrior. We used to see each other but never really spoke till we met in church. We wasted all those years but we made up for it later. She was an encouraging woman very with it wise and definitely no one s fool. She has stuck with me through my trials and we used to pray for one another right up to a week or two she passed. She was sending anything her finger could press on the phone just to let me know she was still there and I understood the last real conversation we had the week before she went in hospital was very heart wrenching to which we agreed if we didn’t talk again we would meet on the other side. I can honestly say that there is a hope God has truly been good to us both. He has helped Mother Brown accomplish so much, he has taken her home for her work is truly well done and I am sure there is a crown waiting in heaven. I will miss you Mother Brown but I am looking to the promise that is in Jesus sleep on sleep and take your rest. We all loved you but Jesus loved you best.

Georges Valley New Testament Church of God, Jamaica

We at the Georges Valley New Testament Church of God are confident and rest assured that our dearly beloved Sis Louise Brown will be front and center among those on the Lord’s right hand whom He will reward for their faithfulness and unwavering service while on earth. Sis Brown was a ray of sunlight when she became a part of the church’s family many years ago. She instantly illuminated, accentuated and enhanced the ministries and programmes; spiritually, financially, and physically. She was a multifaceted individual who fitted in many and varying areas of the church’s life. Sis Brown was a humanitarian and philanthropist whose lifestyle service embodied a legacy of compassionate services ranging from foster care, empowerment programmes, financial assistance towards educational pursuits and business acquisitions. Her brain child ‘The Helping Hands Ministry’ has become an important arm of the church’s ministry. It’s mission is to reach out and cater to the holistic needs of people in the community and its environs. This Ministry takes on the responsibilities of caring for the seniors, the needy and disenfranchised, visiting the sick, shut-ins, the incarcerated and those in hospitals. Medical care was also an area that the Helping Hands Ministry was integrally involved in. On Health Days, a mobile health clinic visited and conducted general check-ups. Hot meals were also prepared and distributed The Helping Hands Ministry also operated a Home Work Center and gave access to computers and other educational materials. Sis Brown served graciously, willing and selflessly. The Georges Valley church and Community laud the contributions of the late Sis Louise Brown. She will be sadly missed. May her soul rest in peace.

We as a family are also so grateful for St Luke’s Hospice firstly in the part they’ve played in her life in providing a ‘happy place’ in taking her mind away from her illness by providing creative therapy at Clifford House. Secondly, for the care provided by St Luke’s community team at the end of life. Therefore, we are asking for donations of whatever you can to honour Louise’s memory and to help and support the amazing work that St Luke’s are doing will continue to do in the future. You can do this either at the funeral or by visiting Louise’s tribute page.
