I’m Praveen, currently pursuing my diploma in Architecture at Nanyang Polytechnic. My interest in architecture began at ITE College Central, where I built a strong foundation in architectural concepts and tools. I became proficient in design software like AutoCAD and Revit, gaining hands-on experience in model making and project development.

During my studies at NYP, I’ve further developed essential skills, including time management, attention to detail, decisionmaking, problem-solving, effective communication, and critical thinking. Collaborating with peers and learning from mentors have strengthened my teamwork abilities and patience, further refining my deisgn skills.

Eager to expand my knowledge and grow professionally through internships and hands-on experience. I am also honored to have received numerous prestigious awards, reflecting my dedication, creativity, and excellence in the field.

Year 2: Design with Nature Studio, The EcoElevate Library

• The project assignment was to study a nature system, and I chose the Bracket fungi mycelium network for its unique structure. By applying biomimicry principles, I redesigned the Ang Mo Kio Public Library into The EcoElevate Library, a space that emphasizes sustainablity and community wellbeing. Incoprating nautral ventilation, greenery, and light, the library serves as both a serene environment and a vibrant community hub. This project deepened my understanding of how nature’s systems can inspire innovative, eco-friendly architectural solutions.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Alexandra Hospital (National University Health System) September 2022 - Febuary 2023

• I revamped the outdated floor plans and developed digital models for various blocks at Alexandra Hospital. My work included creating detailed digital families for specific clusters, such as Cluster 2, Cluster 4 Zone 20A, and Cluster 4 Zone 21, incorporating precise material specifications. Additonally, I executed material application amendments across multiple clusters and updated the digital model for Cluster 1, covering both the North and Central areas.

Suntronic Design & Construction Pte Ltd September 2020 - December 2020

• I revamped the floor plan and interior design of a Data Centre to optimize space utilization, redesigning isometric, furniture layout, and flexible office plans. I proposed sustainable, costeffective furniture materials to enhance conservation and durability. Additionally, I created an isometric view for the Super Tree Model from a plan and elevation view, and I the amended plant feature wall by adjusting the steel rope measurements.

- WOODEN PARADISE

The EcoElevate Library transforms the traditional library into a sustainable and inclusive hub inspired by the mycelium network of bracket fungi. Guided by the Living Building Challenge’s Health and Happiness Petals, it emphasizes natural ventilation, greenery, and ample natural light to create a calming, engaging space for all ages. The ground floor features a split-level design with a cozy reading area, a naturally ventilated play zone, and green spaces with water features for relaxation. The second floor connects to Ang Mo Kio Town Garden West via an open-to-sky park connector, offering scenic pathways for cyclists and pedestrians alongside a café for social engagement. The third floor’s Maker Space encourages creativity with interconnected blocks tailored for teenagers. With features like rainwater harvesting, solar energy, and eco-friendly materials, EcoElevate Library blends functionality, community, and nature, setting a new standard for sustainable urban design.

Woodneuk Residence emphasizes energy efficiency and comfort through innovative lighting and thermal strategies. During the day, natural lighting minimizes energy consumption while enhancing emotional well-being and connecting occupants to their surroundings. At night, versatile artificial lighting creates warm and adaptable ambiances for various needs and occasions, enriching the residence’s functionality and atmosphere. To optimize thermal comfort, the west-facing façade features architectural timber fins that reduce direct sun exposure, decreasing heat gain and ensuring a more energyefficient and comfortable indoor environment. These thoughtful design elements blend sustainability with elegance, enhancing the quality of living.

03 - WOODDEN PARADISE

Wooden Paradise is inspired by the concept of light, harnessing natural sunlight to enhance energy efficiency and improve well-being. Natural lighting reduces electricity consumption during the day while positively impacting mood and mental health. The building features a white and pastel color palette for both interiors and exteriors, reflecting studies that show young children prefer soothing tints and pastel tones, creating a cheerful and calming environment. To optimize comfort, architectural timber fins and green walls are strategically placed on the East and West façades, minimizing heat gain and ensuring a sustainable, energy-efficient design. These thoughtful elements balance functionality, sustainability, and aesthetics, providing a vibrant and welcoming space.

As designing the Wooden Paradise Kindergarten, an Interference check was conducted to detect clashes between Architectural, Structural, and MEP elements. After doing so, we collate and compile them into a report with their respective coordinates such as the location and grids. Solutions were also provided to resolve the clashes between each element.
