I am an interior architect, based out of Noida, India. I am a passionate designer, and a visual artist, with a strong sense of creativity and originality. I tell my stories through the spaces I design.

Interior design to me is more than just a discipline, it is an art. It is balancing the right amount of functionality with aesthetics to create a narrative experience for the end users, engaging all of their senses. My design process is a sum of thorough research and analysis of the project, site and client requirements and constantly evolving global design study. I am always keen on learning new things and my zest towards design and all things related and broaden my knowledge and seek the oppurtunity to learn further through this graduate degree programme.

Location: New Delhi Type of Project: Residential Area: 1000 sqft.

Model Development, Rendered Plans and Sections for Client Presentations, FF&E Selections, Site Visit and Coordination with contractor and other consultants, Review samples and finishes as per design

PROJECT: The brief was to convert an existing portion of a house into a studio apartment space with a living lounge, bedroom, walk in closet and bathroom for a newly married couple.

CONCEPT: The design follows a neutral pallete on its hard surfaces, with wooden panels contrasting with the walls. The space flows from a public living space to bedroom maintaining the need for a more privacy. Built in furnitures are introduced along the walls, to create a more open bedroom. Wooden flooring is used to add contrast to the walls. Similarly, grooved solid wood is predominantly seen throughtout the apartment to add more linearity to the plain walls.

5. A niche is created by adding a partition wall laterally seperating the closet area and bedroom to accomodate the dresser unit and study ledge.

6. Single entry door retained for the larger walk in closet area.

7. Depth of wall is increased to accomodate wardrobe depth, to optimse the storage area.

8. Shoulder wall is reduced to open the passage space between the closet and bathroom.

PROJECT: The brief was to design the lobby of an urban hotel which focuses on the guest and his/her desire to travel while feeling at home. Besides traditional lobby elements, such as a reception desk, waiting area and a concierge stand, it is designed to serve as a gathering place where guests can relax and enjoy themselves.

CONCEPT: Targetted towards traveling professionals, the intent is to creatively make a lobby into a multifunctional place that is inviting and guest-oriented. Spatial flow is divided by carving out varied sections, such as a beverage counter and snack bar, a chat-friendly communal area with flexible seats and tables while offering all the amenities of a hotel, plus being located in a thriving neighborhood. The lobby features a double height space which is accentutated by using walls clad in five different sizes of solid poplar panels, installed in varying patterns. Subtle textures are explored—glass, wood grains, stone veining—within what is a monochromatic color palette with both warm and cold color accents.

PROJECT: The Maceo Clubhouse is a building facility for a residential project in the suburb of Gurgaon, India. This project is served as a functional building for a private housing project, which consists of a small gym on the upper floor, interior living and exterior areas for multi-purpose activities. Together with basic amenities such as a Restaurant/ cafĂŠ with an attached kitchen space, Gaming Zone, Gym and Yoga Studio, and spaces for both Indoor and Outdoor activities, the clubhouse is planned as a contemporary public hub, within the residential development, augmenting the public identity of the residential project.

CONCEPT: The clubhouse has a biophilic design – a building concept to increase occupant connectivity to the natural environment through direct or indirect nature. Translating this to design elements, terrazzo tile and cement concrete flooring-like earth-Terra connects all the floors. Raw Industrial ceilings and metal elements are juxtaposing with the softness of timber wall panels and patterned floor. Most of the Furniture and Light fixture selections are of modernist style, thus contrasting with the hard finishes. Elements and color palate of nature like plants, wood, jute, cement along with patterned tiles creates a homely yet sensory design experience.

Basement Design PROJECT: The brief was to design a portion of the basement area which serves as a play area, intended to be used by older and younger kids. The idea was to create a vibrant informal setting for this space, featuring a TT table, a pool table, a gaming nook, and an indoor play area cum creche for children. To create a different setting for each activity wall coverings are selected to complement the micro cement texture. The ceiling has been left exposed painted the desired shade of blue to accentuate the height and induce depth into space.

PROJECT: The brief was to design a restaurant space, to be run as a family diner. The ambience is designed to create a vibrant setting with colour accents through hard finishes and soft furnishings. PROJECT: I was part of a team of two tasked with creating construction documentation for the Ibis Hotel Guest Rooms. This set of detailed interior drawings were to be taken forward by different consultants and contractors for execution on site. Through this task, I realised the importance of construction documentation and its significant bearing on the productivity and the outcome of a building project, which makes the role of construction documentation services so vital. The actual construction depends heavily on these documents/drawings’ quality since they guide the entire project team.

PROJECT:

Sammy Sosa is a Mexican Themed Restro – Pub, which targets all age groups/backgrounds of patrons who can find a Connect and ‘Feel At Home‘ atmosphere while they dine here. While the Lower Section of the eatery focuses on more of a Bar-oriented set up to cater to the youth and pub-oriented culture, the Upper Section is designed to create a diner setup that is ideal for families. The Ground floor has a more youth-oriented seating consisting of the bar area with high stool seating and booth seatings for larger groups. The upper floor has more 4-seater tables and chairs for a more family-oriented crowd.

Through the themed artwork, the interior is endorsing a Mexican vibe across both the floors, that includes colour accentuated tables/ chairs, artwork on walls, lights, artefacts, textured paint, wooden elements and a lot of Mexican inspired design elements that clearly distinguish Sammy Sosa as a Dedicated Mexican Themed restaurant.

THE CONCEPT FOR INTERIORS: Unique and distinct, Mexico and its style is represented with its art, displaying its rich heritage and colourful pride. Inspiration has been taken from Spanish Colonial architectural elements and other building materials featuring archways, expansive murals and decorative carvings. Colours associated with the traditional décor are appetite-stimulating, create feelings of pleasure, convey warmth and safety, and provide a tranquil and comfortable setting.

The idea is to use the highlighted Mexican elements, to turn and ordinary looking space into a unique experiential journey. To achieve this a right balance of colours, textures, paintings and installations are evenly spread across the restaurant, highlighting different types of spaces created to cater to different kinds of patrons visiting the restaurant. A timber flooring and exposed ceiling contrasted with bright imagery and tilework on the walls keeps the atmosphere feeling playful, relaxed and fun.

Project is a part of chain of outlets ,DRA was contracted to design the prototype outlet for various requirements such as a Kiosk, Food Court and Stand-alones. The intent is to design an eatery that serves noodles in a comfortable informal seating, a setting which feels and is accessible to all cadres of society. The kiosk is bright, lively and reflective of the brand ideology, that is- affordable food, experimentation and flexibility. It will also reflect a sense of community and equality. The Noodle Bar is a one of a kind concept to be introduced in India based on a QSR model.

A conscious decision is taken to use elements in their most basic colours and enhancing their presence by adding accents with colors resonating the brand identity.

The materials selected had to be easily available and replicable across India. Strand board and cement board in their most basic forms, are close to nature and have fewer quality variations. Most importantly while complementing each other, they also balance out the compelling brand colours, giving the space a warm tone throughout.

The graphic art elements in sync with the internal finishes, play a pivotal role as it is meant to captivate the attention of the customers, while giving them an insight to what the brand is all about.

The customised furniture is made of metal and Strand Board Sheet, taking forward the idea of flexibility and replicability.

Noodle Bar Outlet Material Pallette:

Location: Pan-India Type of Project: Retail QSR Area: 500 sqft.

Responsibilities: Concept Development, Concept Statement, Space Planning, Construction drawings, Detailed Sketchup Model Development, Rendered Plans and Sections for Client Presentations, FF&E Selections, Presentation Layout, Coordination with approved vendors, Architectural brand guidelines, Rendered Model Views

Project: The noodle bar design serves to provide as a prototype for future retail outlets. The interior design balances the requirement for ease of replicability, along with creating a strong brand identity through its design elements. These include internal finishes, countertop design, customised furnitures and lighting.

Concept: • The rush of feelings, colours, texture and aroma of food experienced in a single moment expands over an area of 500 sqft. creating a lively and inviting environment, detaching it from the city outside and providing a quirky tangent to the contemporary design elements • A conscious decision is taken to use elements in their most basic colours and enhancing their presence by adding accents with colors resonating the brand identity.The materials selected had to be easily available and replicable across India. Strand board and cement board in their most basic forms, are close to nature and have fewer quality variations. Most importantly while complementing each other, they also balance out the compelling brand colours, giving the space a warm tone throughout.

• The graphic art elements in sync with the internal finishes, play a pivotal role as it is meant to captivate the attention of the customers, while giving them an insight to what the brand is all about.

• The customised furniture is made of metal and Strand Board Sheet, taking forward the idea of flexibility and replicability.

This iteration features the bain marie counter along the longer wall with a pop art installation with brand art facing the entrance.

Primary seating arrangement is in the form of 6-seater tables with benches, and 4-seater wall mounted table with stools.

This iteration is designed to adopt a larger version of the pop art installation with brand art facing the entrance.

Primary seating arrangement is in the form of 4-seater tables with benches, and 3-seater wall mounted table with stools, and high seating furniture arrangement along the facade.

This iteration features the bain marie counter facing the entrance, simplifying the order traffic flow. The counter is designed to contrast the rest of the space.

09 Age in Place- An Elderly Habitat FINAL THESIS DESIGN; SEMESTER- X (GUIDES- PROF. ANIL JAIN AND PROF. VAIBHAV DIMRI, SPA DELHI)

Introduction The marked increase in elderly population calls for a need to create establishments which balances their needs and requirements without socially isolating them from the .younger generation Thesis Proposition The thesis proposes a centre to not only cater to the eldery but also assume the role of a social agency. By means of an architectural intervention, a senior citizen habitat will act as spatial hybrid catering to their social, cultural and personal needs, which offers community life Site selection and Reading of the site The site is located in the Action Area1 of Newtown Development area which is an upcoming neighborhood extension of Kolkata. The site provides with a mixed context of residential and Commercial buildings.

Site Area- 27923sqm.

FAR- 2.75 Ground Coverage- 45% Mazximum permissible height- 60m Topography- 16m ASL, no contours Concepts and Strategies Penetrabilty both physical and visual needs to maintained. Physical penetrabilty may be restricted as per demands of secuirity and access but visually, the site will be penetrable from all active edges.

As the majority of the site abuts the arterial road, there is aneed for an urban gesture. The gesture must allow for the passerby to enage with the site- if not physicallly, but visually atleast The built is guided by the requirements of the elderly as illustrated. This leads to a spatial articulation which has created in terms of walkability, ease of access, different views in .and out of site

Design Approach

The final design is primarily zoned in such a way that the broader circulation is dictated by privacy and security needs of the senior housing. Thus vehicular circulation is restricted to one side of the site, while the other three sides have been developed to allow pedestrian access of various types.

The courtyards along which the built is wrapped are of varying degrees of privacy. The built mass has also been articulated vertically, leaving the public functions of both the senior housing and cultural centre on the lower floors, while the upper floors act as residential spaces and learning spaces, thus creating a spatial mix between the two programs but also ensuring the visual connection between the two
