Precedent study: Steven holl, Bridge of Houses, Chelsea, Manhattan.Unbuiltdesign for the recovery of the then not operational High Line elevated railway. Pattern of Bridge Houses connected through one line of elevated bridge.Series of houses having urban villas with courtyards and providing passage for pedistrians. Following the Precedent study, the idea was manifested with respect to the site and considering the other precedents a lot of design develop ment happened in due course. The idea of having a long skinny building and its programs oriented angularly, as of offsetting the grid layout of the Programcity.

Pratik sutar 20 Thesis : Void Volume and MassAutoCAD03 | Rhino | Illustrator | Lumion Void Volume and Mass Project = Technique = Architect The word technique could be one of the most important subjects in architecture. It determines how one starts and work on the project. It also becomes very autobiographical towards the architect. The studio allows to become more aware of the different ways of working through the study of precedents and process. The work was extensively based on a lot of research and design developement through various Rhino operations and then the form and spaces were created through those operations and were used as programs and negative spaces in the Fordesign.Indepth Coverage pratiksutarwoodbury.cargo.site: 21 Selected Works

Programs are divided according to the percentage of foot fall. Majority of programs which are display and gallery focused are situated on upper level. Administration and other programs are on the lower level.

Central staircase open to air and is the center of the circulation which connects the open area of two levels. The south end staircase is enclosed and helps in easing out the foot traffic as it is situated in between the two major programs.

All the upper level programs have sky light on the roof for the north light. Roof slopes towards the north and helps the light to accentuate the space inside. Program blocks have open spaces beside them which helps in the circulation of air inside the structure. Most of the common spaces are open and have cross ventilation which helps in reducing the consumption of electricity.

Following is the work from courses besides studio work. Different softwares were used for explo ration and design developement. Majority of the work was focused on developing a creative object with respect to form and function. The Later work is based programming. Initially Python was used. After that it was transferred to Grasshopper for form developement and rendereing. Further more, it got translated to a actual 3D model with was made with the help of KUKAPRC robot.

All Objects started as different operations in Rhino and then later exported as OBJ, imported in Maya for texture and rendering and then finished on photoshop for final Thetouches.Final scene is a setup of all the objects together in a still frame setting with light and some external archiectural elements like table, chair and door. Some of the objects were later animated in Adobe after effects and uploaded on youtube for viewing. Link for the video https://youtu.be/qMqz1A4nku8
