Shailaputri Mata Shailaputri first Swaroop of Navadurga. In Navratri first day is belongs to Shailaputri. Devi have two hands and has a crescent moon on her forehead. She holds a trident in her right hand and a lotus flower in the left. She has Trinetre her vehicle is Nandi.

MaaDurga is an avatar of Mata Parvati. Mata Parvati reborn as a Himalaya Putri. In Sanskrit Shail means the mountain putri of mountain known as Shaiputri.

Brahmacharini Mata Brahmacharini is second Swaroop of Navadurga. In Navarati second day is belongs to Brahmacharini. Devi wears white clothes, holds a japa mala in her right hand & Kamandal in left hand in Kamandal pavitra Jaal (water) for drink while doing tapasya.

Meaning of Brahmacharini is she has completely in spiritual follow the strong rules while doing Tapsya. She as done thousands of years tapsya to get Lord Shiva as a Husband. During Tapsya she eating only fruits, Bela Patra & Water. Staying away from family in forest sleeping in floor. That’s why she as called Brahmacharini coz of her Tapasya.

Devi Chandraghanta swaroop is ugra she as ten hands carries Trishul, Gada, Sword, Kamandal in her four hands & fifth hand with Varada Mudra. She carries lotus flower, Arrow, Dhanush & Japa Mala in her four right hands & keeps the fifth hand in Abhaya Mudra. Always ready to fight with demons & Evil force. She is also shatru nashak devi means to protect from shatru like Evil Forces. Devi Chandraghanta worshipped for peace, tranquillity & prosperity in life. She is charming has golden bright complexion her vehicle is Lion. She wears the semi-circular moon (Chandra) on her forehead. The half-moon on her foregead looks like the bell (Ghanta) thats why is known as Chandra-Ghanta.

But I believe Kushmanda is Swaroop of Maa Durga & Durga rides in Lion. She created the whole universe by her divine smile. Kushmanda devi is only who can live inside the Sun. Mata Kushmanda produced the Cosmic Egg, bringing light to the Universe. Kushmanda has the power & Strength to live in the Sun. Ku means “a little”, Ushma means “warmth” or “energy” & Anda means “Cosmic Egg” that why is know as Kushmanda.
