With seven AVAs and nine distinct wine trails, you can explore Santa Barbara and Santa Barbara Wine Country for days and never have the same experience twice. Between the organic farmers, boutique cattle ranchers, award-winning olive oil producers and salt-of-the-sea fishermen, our regional ingredients are ridiculously fresh and lovingly cultivated in both food and wine.

AIf I am having an outdoor event or activity, what should I expect the weather to be like?

In a word: sunny. Or at least it is 300+ days every year. Average daytime temperatures range from the mid-60s to the mid-70s. Low humidity and a gentle ocean breeze complements these ideal climates.

What is the “Funk Zone”?

The Funk Zone is a unique Santa Barbara arts, culture, business, and industrial district. Over the years, many artists have found creative freedom by carving out studio spaces in this “funky” area of Santa Barbara, And so have wineries, restaurants, art galleries, and shops. So many places to eat, drink and explore!

When is Whale Watching Season in Santa Barbara?

There are two windows of opportunity to see whales around Santa Barbara. During February, March and early April you can see California Grey Whales. From May to September, you can see Blue Whales, Minke Whales and Humpback Whales. Occasionally, you can see Right Whales or Orcas.

How far is the Wine Country from Santa Barbara?

The wine region of Santa Barbara County is located 45-60 minutes north of the city of Santa Barbara and includes the Santa Ynez Valley and Santa Maria Valley. The Santa Ynez Valley has several small towns including Buellton, Solvang and Los Olivos.

Bask in Santa Barbara’s botanical beauty on a visit to Lotusland, a stunning 37-acre Montecito estate once owned by the late Madame Ganna Walska. A well-known opera singer and socialite, she purchased the property in 1941 and spent the next 43 years transforming it into a unique horticultural nirvana.

This pleasant downtown historic walking tour will introduce the most interesting landmarks in Santa Barbara along approximately 12 blocks. Numerous art galleries, boutiques and unique shops can be found along the way.

This intimate walking tour gives guests an up close and personal look into the Santa Barbara’s wine & culinary scene.
