AN URBAN CENTRE - THESIS SEMESTER 10 I 2022 A place becomes lively & successful when it has many purposes for a more extensive range of public. The booming convention market necessities require not merely a convention centre but a Convention Destination with exhibition facilities, shopping areas, lodging facilities, linkages with the Airports, Mass Transit systems, & adequate parking. Thus, Clubbing the market with Pune Habitat Centre is being proposed. The aim of this project is to design an inclusive and self-sufficient environment for community development. The project also aims to bridge the gap between the community and the visitors by providing spaces for interaction. Various skill-building programmes and local arts and crafts promotion will help promote self-sufficiency.

Participated as a group of 8 members, this project helped in gain a maximum number of soft skills and learn about streetscapes and street designs. being a virtual study and proposal it helped in learning 2d and 3d rendering software like photoshop and lumion. Project aim
Proposed ideas include Segregation of footpath into parking, seating space, cycle track, and footpath. Design elements include pergolas, seating keeping in mind the pandemic, water stations, 3D painted zebra crossings, graffiti, NIGDI seating, dustbins at regular intervals, parking area, and outdoor gym equipments.

The firm has strongly made me believe identifying the issues, figuring out the possible solutions, and overcoming the situations by facing them and not avoiding them is what makes one a successful professional. I have grown to like the responsibility of being in a project. I have witnessed how my supervisor discussed problems with clients and contractors and also how they settle onsite construction matters with contractors, the project management team, and workers to make sure that tasks is completed within the given timeframe.

The aim of this project is to design a street in Pune to resemble the designs of Sweden. We aimed to combine the cultures of India and Sweden and conceptualize the best designs possible. The culture of Sweden includes safety and discipline on street and yet is comfortable and user-friendly. We have tried recreating the same culture on this street.

We designed a game that would help a kid learn about types of waste. its segregation and also the concept of recycling and upcycling. We were selected in round one and qualified for the semi-finals where we had an opportunity to create a small prototype and marketize the same.
The brief emphasizes and is conscious of the need to adapt and reuse building material wherever possible. Hence, rather than constructing something anew, the entire project is proposed to be built from used shipping containers as the key material.
