The aim of this project was to explore the niche crossroads of architecture and public policy and derive an understanding of the intersection. For this purpose, a river was selected in the city of Bengaluru which is currently contaminated and in a bad state. It is seen more as a sewer line than a river. Hence this site was selected to study the problems being faced, trace the sources of pollution, study the existing solutions proposed by various government agencies, and propose an architectural solution that aims more at design guidelines and how the inclusion of public spaces along the river edge can indirectly help in rejuvenation. One interesting aspect of the project was the encounter study where 6 different encounters were selected along with the flow of the river and a GIS study was conducted to observe and document the changes in demographics and green cover over a 20-year window and do a comparative study f the two maps.
