Diesel engine

Itsinternalcombustionenginethat worksonairiscompressed, becomesveryhotandthenfuel (diesel)isinjectedintoit.Ignition temperaturebytheheatof compressedair.Italsocalledas compression-ignitionengine.

Working of a Diesel Engine

Step 1. Induction Stroke –Piston goesdownwardandaircomesinto cylinder.

Step 2. Compression Stroke –Piston goesupwardandcompresstheair withhighertemperature.

Step 3. Power Stroke –Diesel is added to the cylinder.

Step 4. Exhaust Stroke – Diesel starts burning by hot air. Smoke exhausts the valve.

Working of a Petrol Engine

Step 1. Intake- Petrol and air are added to the cylinder and mixed.

Step 2. Compression- The mixture of petrol and air is compressed by crankshaft.

in the mixture forces the piston down.

4. Exhaust- Gases go out the exhaust valve.
