T

he Habitat Apartments in Gunbarrel is “kind of a big deal.” After all, the one-bedroom apartments at The Habitat at 925 square feet are easily among the roomiest single bedroom apartment rentals in the Boulder area, and the two-bedroom apartments with two full baths at an incredibly reasonable price are a generous 1,200 square feet, a floor plan unequaled in a city known for cramped studios at high costs.

Two- and three-bedroom townhomes at The Habitat are likewise capacious sanctuaries, with the largest at 1,500 square feet featuring a walk-in closet in the master suite, a built-in wood-burning fireplace, a backyard entertaining area and washer and dryer hookups. All units include energy efficient dual pane floor to ceiling windows, three-panel sliding glass doors, and huge patios or balconies, thus ensuring a plethora of natural light. Linen, coat and bedroom closets provide ample -- and for

renters, unusual -- storage. Even The Habitat’s studio apartments are bigger than most at 600 square feet and include regular-sized appliances.

Pet-friendly, generous amenities

“With our recent remodel, many fresh amenities and perpetually pet-friendly

environment, The Habitat is proving that some of the best things -- like plenty of space -- never go out of style,” explained Habitat property manager Cori Batson. Indeed, Habitat amenities are communitybeloved, from the great location on seven rolling acres near a bevy of tech employers and, for pet lovers, an off-leash trail

around Twin Lakes to the stress-free atmosphere enhanced by swaying hammocks, a heated pool, an outdoor kitchen, a community garden and three fire pits in a garden courtyard framed by mature trees. A new parcel room keeps packages safe, and residents appreciate the convenience of the on-site laundry, which offers an app payment option. The Habitat maintains a bicycle repair station at the corner of the property, directly off the LoBo (Longmont to Boulder) trail, to serve the active population, and The Habitat’s Little Free Library is a local sweet spot. “We go out of our way to offer residents the conveniences they desire,” Batson said. “This place truly feels like home.”

Unrivaled outdoor access The upbeat, relaxed aura comes naturally at The Habitat, where Gunbarrel Commons Park hosts monthly food truck parties, and pets are always welcome (dog toys and frisbees fill the outdoor game box). Residents enjoy long
