A Lakefront Oasis of Connectivity and Liesure.

AIM

Club Laguna aims to create a space for businessmen, travelers and public to have a leisure holiday or weekend in a serene lakefront club house with nature.

To create a lakefront with mood gradient stretch from Active zone to Calm zone during different time frames.

• Businessmen who wants to spend leisure holiday.

• Travelers who are seeking for adventures and calming weekends.

• General public around the neighborhood.

Located in the serene embrace of Poonamalle Lake, the site exists along the Chennai Outer Ring Road and connected through service road. It is a haven for those seeking a blend of tranquility and recreational vibrancy. WHERE?

• Walk/cycle friendly roads encapsuled by trees.

• Adventurous and exploring outdoors for active sense.

• Mood gradient lakefront exhibiting active zone to calm zone in a single stretch.

SCOPE NEED

• Development of New Town at Thirumazhisai announced by CMDA.

• Upcoming growth in infrastructure during the development of New Town at thirumazhisai.

• Existing number of Private limited companies would tether with the club house.

With the help of Brutalist style and Biophilic concept combined, it brings out a nature enhancing open structure.

To enrich design, series of analogies were generated and categorized into 4 Themes or concepts namely, Wall-less Building, Green Concept, Spatial Flow, and Spatial Trait. These concepts creates environment that resonates with tranquility, vitality, sociability and sense of playfulness.

The structure is separated into several blocks and placed around the site. Along with these Blocks the lakefront zone has been designed with zones distinguishing from Active zone to Calm Zone. The site is drawn with pathway for cycling and walking that stitches the lake along the land.

MAIN BLOCK

The Main block is a two storey structure that holds entertainment spaces like Library, Art centre, Mini-theatre, Gift shops, Antique shop and Restaurant with outdoor dining facility. It gives off a majestic raw look along with the openness. It is the first block found next to admin office in the center of the site.

The Wellness Block is a two storey structure that holds recreational activities like Gym in ground floor and Spa with sauna in First floor. It can be accessed from main block and accoms block through a walk bridge. It has a serene environment isolate from other block surrounded by tree for a peaceful rejuvenation.

Deluxe Suite Room

The Deluxe Suite Room, covering 97.25m², features a welcoming foyer that leads into a spacious living room. From there, it connects to two separate bedrooms, each with its own private balcony and bathroom, providing both comfort and privacy for guests.

Suite Room (Type-1)

The Suite Room, spanning 60.10m², features a thoughtfully designed living area that connects to a spacious bedroom. This setup includes a well-appointed toilet and a private balcony, offering a perfect spot to unwind and enjoy the outdoors. With ample space and carefully selected amenities, this suite ensures a comfortable and relaxing stay for all guests.

Suite Room (Type-2)

The Suite Room, encompassing 51.60m², offers a welldesigned living space that connects seamlessly to a cozy bedroom. This room is enhanced by the inclusion of a private balcony, perfect for enjoying fresh air and scenic views. Additionally, the suite features a well-appointed bathroom to provide a comfortable and convenient stay for guests.

LAKEFRONT

The area seamlessly transitions from vibrant Active and Play zones to serene Calm and Peace zones. You’ll find spaces dedicated to food, discovery, fun, freedom, and fostering connections. The walking track weaves through the undulating landscape, connecting to the lake and creating picturesque observation decks.

RIPPLE BOARD

It features gently undulating floor plates situated at the end of a winding path. This calm and serene zone is ideal for morning yoga and moments of peace, offering a tranquil retreat for relaxation and mindfulness.

A long dock strip leading to a serene bay. The bay area is equipped with hammocks, recliners, and seating arranged around a campfire, perfect for unwinding and enjoying peaceful moments.

This zone includes three main features: Fun, Find, and Food. It offers an observation area with an undulating path, a café, and dynamic Active Arcs, providing a variety of spaces for both relaxation and activity.

This is a floating platform with integrated seating. It serves as a versatile dock that can function as an observation deck or a floating stage, with the steps doubling as seating areas. This design offers a unique and multi-functional space for various activities and experiences.

This is a lively zone designed for those who are full of energy and excitement. It features a playground that caters to children and their caretakers, providing a dynamic and engaging environment for fun and play.

RURAL MARKET

Site Area - 845 sq.m

Location - Markal, Karnataka

The Market was spatially designed to have a alternative and distant placement of module with same motive in order to not bring a economic collusion. The module’s functions were selected on the basis of the requirements of the village. Separation of access for different user activities such as buyers, seller, and unloading dock were schemed according to the roads traffic analysis.

Design Iterations & Activities

Site Zoning

The Site can be accessed from 3 entry points each way has its unique usage. The Entry 01 next to Livestocks is wide for temporary parking of trucks for unloading livestock. The Entry 02 on northern side of site is for people and associated with parking space for them. And finally a Entry 03 on the southern side of site is for loading and unloading of goods.

Placement of each modules are carefully planned to provides easy accessibility for pedestrian or vehicles, economical distribution, and flexibility of space. A central clock tower acts as a junction surrounded by modules. Informal Stall space for farmers during early morning sales.

EXPLODED VIEW

Each modules are featured with brick walls and concrete flooring, with access provided through a rolling shutter door. Side wall vents are included to allow hot air to escape. The roof is supported by a wooden frame structure that holds terracotta tiles.

MODULE - 01

This Module is designed for Grocery store, Stationery Store and Medical store in the market. It has a restriction for the public to access the module from within. The User can enter through a small hinged gateway. It features with a counter, a table with drawers and shelves for storage.

MODULE - 02

This Module is designed for Vegetable vendors and Fruit vendors of the market. It allows the public to circulate around the module for their own prefernece. It features with a table with drawer, display racks and shelves for storage.

MODULE - MEAT STALL

This Module is designed for meat vendors of the market. It is a small module compared to other with a service counter, a wash basin and a table with drawer. This module is placed opposite to Livestock market.

MODULE - 03

This Module is designed for Tea & Snack bar. Users can circulate inside the module. It features a seater, a storage cabinet, and cook station with drawers.

HOTEL DESIGN

Location - Injambakkam, ECR.

This Business Hotel boasts a spacious entrance lobby and a variety of dining options, including restaurants with continental and Indian cuisine, a special restaurant, Bar lounge and a coffee lounge. Entertainment amenities feature a gym, spa, salon, and a swimming pool. Accommodation options range from Executive Rooms to Grand Rooms, Junior Suites, Luxury Suites, and the prestigious Presidential Suite.

Special Amenities include a Ballroom with a capacity of 1,500, a Multi-purpose Hall, and a Business Centre equipped with open desk space, private cabins, team desk spaces, meeting rooms, and a conference hall.

This hotel features 50+1 Executive Rooms, 10 Grand Rooms, and 30 Junior Suites spread across 10 floors. The top floor is reserved for 2 Luxury Suites and the esteemed Presidential Suite.

The Executive room offers a 45m² floor area, ideal for a single person or a casual business stay for a couple. The room’s theme includes cotton candy blue walls, a walnut wood floor finish, and dark-shaded furniture, creating a chic and comfortable ambiance.

GRAND ROOM

The Grand room offers a spacious 55m² area, beginning with a foyer that connects to the bathroom and a small seating area, which then leads to the bed space. The room also features an open balcony view. The theme includes mild cream white walls, a wooden floor finish, and light-shaded furniture, creating an inviting and elegant atmosphere.

PRESIDENTIAL SUITE

The Bathroom features a modern bathroom with a glass-enclosed shower, a freestanding bathtub, a wall-mounted toilet, and a minimalist shelving unit, all set against beige walls and flooring.

The modern, minimalist living room with an integrated kitchen features sleek furniture, contemporary cabinetry, and a stylish island with bar stools. Large windows with sheer curtains flood the space with natural light, creating an airy, inviting atmosphere.
