PQC International Year In Review 2012

INTRODUCTION As PQC International continues to grow, we take pride in our past experiences; the good, the bad and the ugly. What makes a company strong is its ability to adapt to change, retain talent and grow its capabilities. As we reflect on the events, milestones, successes, and losses of 2012 in this Year in Review, we must remind ourselves that nothing worth having was ever achieved without some sacrifice. We must work smarter, not just harder and cherish our glory moments. We are a family of fresh talent and wise minds, who, in turn, deliver simply a melting pot of culture and quality to every project deliverable. We may not be the largest corporation, but we can safely say we are the most diverse in every aspect. May you enjoy your glimpse into the past through this publication, and be reminded of the great work you have provided, and the glorious, grandiose picture that you are a part of.

PQC International Year In Review 2012

THE CEO’s OUTLOOK Traditionally, we start off the New Year with a reflection on the past. 2011 was a year of great change in our organization. As we begin to settle into our new identity we must remind ourselves that in order to be successful we must take ownership of our parts in building this company. We were very blessed to have the opportunities that we did in 2011. And with the strong presence that we are making in the public going into the new year, I am confident to say we will have another strong successful year ahead. The key is will you believe and make it so! Change and self-improvement starts from within. Happy Reading! Frank Payne, PMP MBA/HRM, MBA/TM, CPME, CFPM Project Management Evangelist™ Chairman/ CEO PQC International, Inc.

Yours sincerely, Frank Payne

PQC INTERNAL EVENTS

PQC ANNUAL SANTA TOY DRIVE

BY SUN-HA LEE Tis the season for giving, here at PQC and as part of our commitment to giving back to the community, PQC participated in the Toy Drive held by TPA Realty Services at the 6525 building. This annual toy drive helps put a smile on the faces of the children who are without toys during the holiday season. These underprivileged children will receive the opportunity to get a toy from Santa this year, thanks to all those who participated in the toy drive. The associates at PQC posed with the toy that they donated and a picture opportunity with Santa Clause himself. It was a joyous occasion and an amusing scene as the child in each of us surfaced as we posed for a photo on Santa’s lap. Some big kids were still very timid around Santa, but it was all in good fun! Thanks to all and may each of you have a merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

PQC FAMILIES FRANK’S FIRST PTO DAY

In the twenty years that Frank has been CEO of PQC International, his recent trip to Hawaii was his first official PTO. For a first-time PTO, this trip was definitely an exciting one. He appointed Kristy Lee in charge as Elena Bondari, our Chief of Operations, was also on PTO. He instructed that, “No one is to call me, no emails, nothing.” Not a surprise, since anyone else on vacation would prefer it that way. With some peace and quiet from the everyday hustle at PQC, Frank enjoyed the sun and the sights of Hawaii. Back at home, it was business as usual at PQC. Here are some great shots taken from Hawaii of Frank and his family.

DIAMOND HEAD CLASSIC

Frank’s grandson Allen recently seized an amazing opportunity! The chance to play for his basketball team at the Annual Diamond Head Classic in Hawaii was very exciting and a once in a lifetime opportunity. He is number two on the Auburn University basketball team. Their final game was against University of Texas El Paso, but unfortunately, the team lost 83-76, which ended the tournament for the Tigers. Although they did not win, it was a great opportunity, a lot of fun, and a very enjoyable experience. Frank, his other grandson Anthony, and the rest of the family were there to cheer him on. Here are some of the pictures captured from the game and of Allen and family.

THE FAMOUS WEDDING

Most of you know Nishit Parikh and most of you know or have heard that he recently got married, but what most of you don’t know is that his wedding was like a scene right out of the Disney children’s movie, “Aladdin”. A few very lucky PQC associates were able to attend this beautiful and extravagant wedding in the beautiful country of India with our dear friend Nishit. The wedding was so colorful and every inch of the event was adorned with detail. One could easily say that these scenes look as though they were captured from the famous TV show Celebrity Weddings! From those of us who were unable to attend, gratitude goes out to Fred Williams for capturing these priceless moments and sharing it with us. Congratulations once again Nishit and Rachana and may your lives be full of blessings!

WELCOME TO THE PQC FAMILY AMANDA SWAFFORD

My name is Amanda Swafford. I pretty much grew up in Albany, Georgia, but I was born in Colorado. I have a BBA in Marketing and Professional Selling from Kennesaw State University. As an undergrad, I was involved in almost every aspect of their sales program. After working in sales for a few companies, I decided to go back to school to get a Dual MBA/ MPA (Business Administration and Public Administration). I am still in the process of completing this degree. I guess you could say that I am one who is all over the place--in a good way. Just by how I was raised, I have numerous interests that range from Legal to HR to Sales to Nonprofits... you name it. Since I was little, I have always found myself in positions where I am building or creating something from scratch. I am very passionate, hardworking, and creative. When I start a project, I give it my absolute all. These are some things that I look forward to bringing to the table with my new career at PQC. Other than the working mindset, I love to laugh. To quote Audrey Hepburn, “it cures a multitude of ills.” When I actually have some spare time, I like to paint and design jewelry for myself or anyone else, hiking, traveling, etc.

MATTHEW BROWN

My name is Matthew Brown. I’m 25 years old, and a recent graduate of Kennesaw State University from the Coles College of Business. I have always had a passion for leadership, so I chose to Major in Management and a semester before I graduated, I realized that I was very close to getting a Minor in Marketing, so I went ahead and tacked that onto my schooling as well. I am currently living in Acworth, GA but I am looking forward to when I get to move closer to Atlanta in the next few months. Up until this point I have been able to call seven different states home, ranging north, south, east, and west. I do believe that in order to have a strong mind you must have a healthy body, so physical activity is very important to me. Throughout the year I try to participate in several different sports, along with trying to make some time to get into a gym.

HARSHIL PATEL

Hi! I am Harshil Patel and I am from India. I came to US for further study and career enhancement. I graduated from University of Bridgeport in 2010 with a Master’s degree in Computer Science. I am very excited to join PQC as a System Admin/Developer. Before joining PQC I worked as a System Analyst, Web Developer with different clients. My education as an industrial designer has allowed me to combine art, science, and technology to develop products that hopefully help people envision and create a better life for them. What I love about industrial design is that there are countless opportunities to design and refine products, since the design world is always revolving and revolutionizing daily to reflect the different cultures around the world. Some of my hobbies include playing sports (soccer, tennis, basketball, beach volleyball, and golf), photography, and traveling. PQC INTERNAL EVENTS A PQC FOOTBALL SUNDAY

BY KAVITA BROWN On Sunday, January 8th, 2012, Richard Sylvia invited PQC associates to an informal outing at Barley’s Sports Bar and Lounge for an eventful afternoon of football. Unfortunately, the Falcons lost 24-2 in the playoffs to the Giants, but that didn’t stop PQC associates from having a good time and eating the best wings, seasoned nachos, and peach cobbler in town, courtesy of Richard. I enjoyed watching Wayne Greenberg and Richard play a couple of intense games of billiards, along with Ashok Guru. Timothy Shobe, Rodney Dunn, and even Byron Spiece showed up, just to name a few. For those who missed out, I would love to do this outing again!

MPOWER CONFERENCE

BY PETER NGUYEN On Jan. 19th, 2012, Matthew, Lindsay, Anastasia, and Peter had the privilege to attend MPower’s first ever luncheon. During the event, we were able to learn about “Lean Pull Design for High-Mix Manufacturing” that will help manufacturers improve profitability from guest speaker Tom Knight, founder of Invistics. In addition, we also had the honor meet Ian Malpass, founder of Millennium Mat Company (sister company to MPower), and listen to his lecture about how his philosophy of empowering the people to be able to make the changes needed for success within his company. Overall, our presence at MPower’s luncheon was a huge success as we were able to meet other prospective clients and continue building our current relationship with MPower.

A VIETNAMESE NEW YEAR CELEBRATION

BY TRISH NGUYEN The Vietnamese American Community of GA also known as VAC-GA, hosts the New Year (Tet) event every year. The New Year’s event is the highlight of our culture and brings all of us together to remember and maintain our traditions from generation to generation. We celebrated our New Year on Sunday, January 22nd, at the Grand Ballroom located in Norcross. We had a great team and an excellent response of support from our sponsors. Our program was enormous and comprised of traditional culture which included a Beauty Pageant, Male Elegance Contest, Children’s Talent Pageant, karaoke contest, Academic Achievement Award, International fashion show, cultural performances, hip hop performances with various groups, and so on. It was an honor to have Mr. Frank Payne as our sponsor for the High School Academic Achievement Award this year. Not only was Frank a sponsor but also our VIP guest that joined in the ribbon cutting opening ceremony along with Curt Thompsons, Hugh Floyd, Charlotte Nash, and leaders from other different communities in Georgia. We’re glad Frank and everyone had a great time and enjoy the great experience within our community.

PQC MONTHLY CELEBRATION - KARAOKE NIGHT

Are you stressed? Need to let your hair down and kick back with some friends? Well, you missed out on a great opportunity to do just that! A trend has swept over PQC...each month, the Event Management Office seeks out fun opportunities for the PQC Monthly Celebrations. This month, PQC associates enjoyed a night of karaoke! Associates met up at Confetti Sports Bar and Grill for some great food and entertainment. Frank kicked off the event with announcements of the anniversaries and a heartfelt birthday song for Tam. For those who don’t know Tam, she currently has the whole month of January to herself! Because she is so special to us, Wayne gave her a special escort back to her seat by throwing her over his shoulder after her birthday song was finished. The laughter that followed surely shook the walls. Anastasia kicked off the competition by singing the Brittney Spears song, “Oops I Did It Again”, which immediately got the attention of the room. Next up was GCRO associate Lindsay Baldwin. She knocked out PQC associates and the rest of the restaurant with her sassy moves and singing to “I’m the Only One” by Melissa Etheridge. Following Lindsay’s performance were Dayna, Michael, Nishit, Catreena, and Sun-ha all doing their very best on stage. The highlight of the event hands down had to be the winner, Corbin Hicks. He completely took everyone by surprise with his performance to “Baby Got Back” by Sir Mix-a-lot. Associates jumped on stage dancing and singing along to every lyric. It was as if no one existed in the restaurant except PQC. Our closing act was by Richard who delivered another great performance to “It Takes Two” by Rob Base and DJ Easy Rock. Associates were so turned up that everyone took a turn going down the PQC Soul Train Line. All in all, the event was a very successful one and associates are sure to attend the next karaoke event.

PQC ASSOCIATE HONORS WELCOME TO THE WALL!

Join us in congratulating Catreena Cabacungan and Kristy Lee for being added as featured associates on the Coca-Cola Freestyle Mural. For those unfamiliar with the Freestyle Mural, it is a large scale painting done on one of the inner walls of the Atlanta Syrup Plant of selected associates that were involved in the JET Freestyle project. This mural is a dedication to those who took part in this evolutionary beverage based technology project. This is a great honor for the associates selected and PQC International as a whole due to the significance this project played in the history of Coca-Cola.

PQC FAMILIES 20 HOURS BACK HOME

BY KRISTY LEE On January 21st, I left the USA on a 20-hour flight back to Singapore to visit my family for Chinese New Year for the first time since I left Singapore in 2003. For the whole period of the trip, all I did was pay respects to my elders, eat, and shop! It was worth the 20-hour flight. Some notes on Singapore: • Area: 712.4 square kilometers (275.06 square miles) • Singapore is the only country with no villages, we are a city and a country as well • Singapore is the second most densely populated country in the world • The world’s first night zoo, The Night Safari, is located in Singapore • The Singapore Sling was first served in 1915 at the Long Bar of the Raffles Hotel. The ingredients are gin, Cointreau, cherry brandy, Dom Benedictine, pineapple juice, Grenadine, Angoustura bitters and limes.

Hi, my name is Dhivyalakshmi Rajasekar. I am originally from India, where I earned my undergraduate degree in Engineering (Biotechnology). I also attended the University of Georgia, and earned my masters in Food Science. For my research, I worked with Georgia-grown pomegranates, analyzed them for their antioxidant, Phytochemical, and their juice production potential. It was a great learning experience, which helped me gain my first job at PQC International as a Lab Technician. I am really excited to start my career with such a great company, and I am looking forward to be able to grow with the company also. Apart from work, I love to cook, read, and become involved in social outreach projects and volunteering activities.

PQC INTERNAL EVENTS PQC PARTICIPATES IN THE UA BUSINESS ANALYTICS SYMPOSIUM

BY LINDSAY BALDWIN Last week, PQC had the pleasure of attending the University of Alabama’s Business Analytics Symposium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The symposium consisted of two days to meet students in the Business Analytics program at University of Alabama while also hearing many different speakers discuss the importance of analytics in their fields. SAS, The Department of Homeland Security, ALFA Insurance, and PQC International were a few of the companies that spoke during the event. The overall experience gave Frank an opportunity to discuss “Why Zebras Don’t Get Ulcers”, and to also educate students and other businesses more about PQC capabilities and our involvement with Business Analytics. It was a great opportunity to build relationships with other businesses who were ALL very impressed with Frank and PQC. He has already been asked to attend many other speaking engagements because of the passion and enthusiasm he portrayed while speaking. It was a great experience with an even greater opportunity to expand PQC’s relationships and business opportunities!

PQC PARTICIPATES IN TRAINING 2012 CONFERENCE

BY ANASTASIA DIPARDO On February 11th, PQC associates attended the Training 2012 conference and expo hosted at the Georgia World Congress Center. It was a fairly small conference but it was packed with great companies showcasing their training technology tools. Three companies out of 89 really stood out to me. The first one was called O.C. Tanner, their branding consists of a carrot and bright vibrant orange on all their collateral including a cute stuffed toy carrot character. The collateral that I took from their booth was a self motivating journal called “The Carrot Tracker. It is a daily journal to help motivate employees with recognition. The second company was one that used similar training techniques as our through games. A very large Monopoly board was showcased at their booth and Frank seemed to take a real interest in it. The last company that I felt was very unique - and I remembered - was a company called Code Baby. This company provides customized avatar characters that speak and interact with the user. The conference was a great opportunity and Frank was even asked to speak on the live streaming radio show that was hosted at the event by Training Pros. In all it was an excellent learning opportunity to see what some of our competitors are doing in Human Capital Development and see the new technology to help make learning fun and easy.

EFFECTIVE SUCCESSION PLANNING

For those of us who know Frank it is nothing new to hear of a request for him to speak at a Coca-Cola event. This time, the request is significant, because for the second year in a row, Frank has touched MBEs so effectively once again that they are taking what they’ve learned from him and either considering or implementing their own processes within their organizations. Many great companies attended this year’s seminar. Below are some takeaways from Frank’s presentation on Effective Succession Planning: Ted R.H. Cummings, President & CEO / Onyx Media Services “This was my second time sitting through the seminar, and I really enjoy the way Frank opens up his presentations. He catches you off guard, and it relaxes you. The very first time, it was an eye opener and I really hadn’t put much thought into Succession Panning. That was my ‘ah ha!’ moment.” Alex Pero, VP of Business Development / EyeMail Inc. “The overall presentation by Frank was the most impactful portion of the seminar-I really enjoyed the dialogue and openness of the room which his presentation facilitated. Frank brought a certain kind of energy that you don’t see in a lot of presenters, and I would definitely attend his presentation again. I would recommend this seminar to all my colleagues as I feel that this information is valuable to all organizations.” Frenchie Guajardo, VP of Strategic Innovation / Market Vision “Frank is a very dynamic, engaging, and effective speaker, and it’s hard to find someone who can break through like that. That makes me appreciate his style. I really appreciated that he had handouts that would help us plan our own succession planning. Most times you leave a seminar with warm, fuzzy feelings, but a week later forget what you learned. Having these takeaway tools gives us an objective when we leave. That leaves a lasting impression. “ Although Frank is our star of the show, he wants to remind us that a successful presentation is the result of a team effort, and thank everyone on the team who collaborated on the preparation for this seminar.

ATLANTA SYRUP PLANT 2012 LEADERSHIP PROGRAM BOOT CAMP

BY PETER NGUYEN AND MATTHEW BROWN PQC International kicked off their 3rd Leadership Development Boot Camp. The boot camp consisted of Frank teaching 11 managers and supervisors to become future leaders that work at a major F&B company. Most of the people that came into to the camp were hesitant and unresponsive at first; some even said out loud that they were skeptical about this class. Some of them were pushed to the point that they could not put their sentences into words, literally. However, within the first ten minutes, Frank already made one a believer of the program as he helped her believe in herself as she tearfully confessed that she never believed in herself and just wanted to have the courage to speak in front of people. As Frank started working his way into the 11 students by relating and connecting to their issues, the atmosphere in the room started to change as everyone began letting down their guards to respond to different issues, even taking the liberty to try to help others. By connecting with the students, Frank was able to help understand what issues people were dealing with without them realizing them. By the end of day one, it seemed like a lot of the students started to realize their own problems and understood that you had to “divide the issue(s) from the people” within life and work. Day two consisted of problem solving within the work environment, how managers and supervisors should react or handle certain types of situations. Through understanding these examples, students were able to relate to a lot of situations and realized that a lot of these similar situations may have been dealt with incorrectly at their own work environment. In addition, their confidence grew exponentially on Day two as they were able to give a five-minute speech that outlined their tasks and goals for the day. The next phase consisted of a team project that saw three teams build a LEGO Mindstorms Automatic Storage Retrieval System. At first, each team showed signs of chaos and uncertainty as the teams either had everyone do the same task or had every member trying to figure out things for him or herself. However as time moved on, everyone within the three teams started to help one another and work together as a unit to complete the Lego Mindstorm. This resulted in a lot of new relationships being formed as the team started to enjoy each other’s company and working together as a group. By the end of Day two, the progress that the students had made was clearly seen as most of them admittedly said that they now understood the value of becoming future leaders and better people not only for their company, but also for their families. They began to realize that they needed to open up to new ideas and approaches to things, not only at the work place but in their personal lives too. All of them walked away from this very intense two-day session, thankful that they were able to participate in it, even the ones who were very reserved in the beginning. Now there is only another 11 months to go before graduation!

DRESS FOR SUCCESS

To some, dressing appropriate for a job interview can be a difficult task. Kennesaw State University understood the need to guide students in the right direction. Joining forces with PQC, KSU developed the Business Attire Seminar. It is not necessary to simply stick to the same white shirt and black-suit look, but knowing what is conservative and not visually abrasive is the key. The seminar took students on a visual journey of how to dress from head to toe. Frank was the presenter and guided students with fun and engaging examples. In the presentation, he touched on topics such as how to follow up after an interview and how to write an effective resume. Information and guidance, like this seminar, is greatly appreciated in hard economical times such as these, where it’s difficult to find work. PQC was given a Partner Spotlight in the Center for Professional Selling newsletter because of the great response to Frank’s presentation and the involvement of PQC at Kennesaw State.

PQC IN THE AMAZON

BY AAYUSH SHARAN PQC Associates traveled into an area called Três Lagoas of Brazil to visit with Coca-Cola’s Brazilian Business Unit and Metalfrio solutions factory. Metalfrio is the engineering source for the development of the revised Showcase Coolers. Our associates had the opportunity to tour the facility’s manufacturing process and discuss the revisions to the coolers. The associates also visited the different POS locations where the coolers were located and initiated field trials and also inspected units. In addition to the field visits, PQC showcased the new coolers to the CocaCola Brazil Business Unit and the Bottler Investment Group as well as independent bottlers in Rio. During their leisure time PQC associates had the opportunity to see the beautiful culture of Brazil and its local tourist attractions such as, Christ the Redeemer Statue and the Copacabana Beachfront. Jose Paulo of Coca-Cola’s Brazil Business Unit gave PQC associates a special tour of the Brazil islands on a sailboat. According to an inside tip Porto Alegre is where all the beautiful women of Brazil can be found and the Cagarras Islands is not actually white but gets its name from the birds that inhabit the island. What an excellent opportunity to increase not only our brand awareness outside the U.S.A. but to engage in some cultural education and to continue to nurture and build our relationship with our partners in Brazil.

PQC FAMILIES PQC HOCKEY NIGHT

BY WAYNE GREENBERG We seem to have a great time when we are off site enjoying what we like to do. I offered to share my favorite spectator sport with PQC associates and the “RUSSIANS thought it would be great idea. Mark was very supportive as well being that he is a big hockey fan too. I posted a Chatter message and gathered up 36 associates and family to enjoy the Gwinnett Gladiators hockey game. Since some were unable to attend Kavita was kind enough to capture some photos from the event.

BRADYING

What is “Bradying”? According to Knowyourmeme.com “Bradying” comes from the photo fad that developed after a photo was taken of the NFL player Tom Brady on the football field following his team’s loss to the New York Giants at the Super Bowl XLVI. The position involves one sitting slouched with head lowered and hands clasped in between your legs. The photograph of Tom Brady was taken by AP photographer Paul Sancya after his pass was intercepted by Giants player Chase Blackburn. The phrase “Bradying” was coined by a Boxden site user named pabloescobarjr in a post titled “Bradying going to be the new “Tebowing?” As you can see those PQC associates that were in favor of the Giants winning couldn’t resist to join in on this opportunity.

FINDING THE RIGHT WORDS

BY AMANDA SWAFFORD I met Ben when my sister invited me to hang out with some guys from KSU’s golf team at a Mexican restaurant. Even though we would lock eyes randomly throughout the night, Ben did not say a word. At the end of the night, one of his friends hopped in my car to try to get me to hang out with them later and after multiple attempts to get him to leave, I finally ran to Ben’s car and told him to grab his friend. In Ben’s proposal, he referred back to this night saying that the whole night he kept trying to think of something to say to impress me and that he thought he had blown his chance. He ended this walk down memory lane by saying that after nearly 5 years, he finally figured out what he could say to impress me, which is when he asked if I’d marry him.

A SPIRITUAL AWAKENING

BY CATREENA CABACUNGAN I am not a perfect person by any means, and I find comfort in the little things in life. However, I have never felt such a movement in my heart until I started the RCIA program to become Catholic. I was born a Lutheran and understood that God was my creator, and I thought I had a healthy relationship with Him until recently. For some of you unfamiliar with the Catholic religion, when one decides to convert, you are put through a rigorous spiritual journey with others. The RCIA program stands for “Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults.” We learn - on a weekly basis - the scriptures, their meanings, and what the Church stands for in our lives. I’ve always had an emptiness in my heart, and now I know why. I needed Him. On February 26th, thousands of parishioners gathered at the Atlanta Civic Center to be blessed by Archbishop Gregory of the Archdiocese of Atlanta in their journeys to become closer to God. The ceremony was much like any mass, except for the unique translations in Korean, Vietnamese, Spanish, Latin, and Cherokee. I was so surprised at how large the Catholic Church is in Georgia. Parishioners from all over took buses and drove hours for this special occasion. It seemed every person (young and old) left that building with a smile and a feeling of purpose. Here are a few photos from the ceremony.

PQC ASSOCIATE HONORS NHL ALL-STAR GAME

BY MARK PARISI Two of my passions are hockey and writing. On January 29th, 2012, I had the opportunity to combine the two in a way I had only fantasized about: The hockey blog I contribute to was granted press credentials by the NHL, allowing us to cover the All-Star game as members of the press. Those credentials gave me complete and unrestricted access to the facilities and biggest stars in the NHL. After making it through customs and being eyed suspiciously due to my United States passport, I arrived in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. I was able to meet up with one of my fellow writers and we headed to the stadium, and it was a special feeling to be waved through the throng of people waiting to get their tickets because of my press pass. The amenities offered to us as members of the press were pretty impressive, and it was tempting to simply indulge in the luxury and enjoy the event, but we were there to do a job, and we had made a pact not to ask the same clichéd questions the mainstream media does, so we went to work interviewing as many players as we could. Everyone we interviewed was polite, funny, and engaging—not that we expected less from hockey players. The moment you look someone you’ve admired in the eye for the first time is a surreal one, and the moment they treat you like a person is even better. Covering the AllStar game was a memorable experience, and one I won’t soon forget.

THE CEO’s OUTLOOK On March 5th I shared with some of you the story of PQC and why Outreach is so important to me. The idea of PQC came from wanting to create a vehicle that would go into communities and build jobs that would develop into careers. My passion is Outreach because of the people who have touched my life and given me the opportunity to build this vehicle. It is critical that we are involved in the community because when we help others God blesses our company in abundance. I encourage each of our associates to get involved in your communities and to continue to provide support past your mandatory hours here at PQC. PQC INTERNAL EVENTS PQC CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY

BY ANASTASIA DIPARDO For those of us who were not present when Frank announced the addition of International Women’s Day to be added to the list of holidays that PQC recognizes, here is an explanation. International Women’s Day is a national holiday in all countries but is greatly celebrated in European countries. The origin of the holiday dates back to 1911 in Austria, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland. It was a massive campaign for the recognition of womens role in society and their contributions. On March 19th International Women’s Day was first honored, it wasn’t until the Russian women went on strike for “bread and peace” March 8th in 1917 that other countries adopted the March 8th date. The strike was in response to the 2 million Russian soldiers that died in war. The strike lasted for four days and Czar was forced to grant women the right to vote. Now International Women’s day is a recognized holiday in Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, China (for women only), Cuba, Georgia, Guinea-Bissau, Eritrea, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Madagascar (for women only), Moldova, Mongolia, Montenegro, Nepal (for women only), Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uganda, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Vietnam and Zambia. The tradition is men honouring women in their lives with flowers and small gifts. In some countries International Women’s day has the equivalent status of Mother’s Day. In Russia it is such a big event that men and women get a day off from work! Although Frank has stated we will not be adding International Women’s Day to the recognized PTO days he was so kind as to hand out with the help of Richard plush toys and chocolates. If you would like to learn more about this great holiday visit www.internationalwomensday.com

Here is the article they posted on their website about PQC which made to be an excellent social media link for us.

4TH ACCENTURE SYMPOSIUM - BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS

BY ELENA BONDARI At PQC, we teach our associates to get to know their clients in-depth. Frank and I learned from this recent trip that one of our friends from Accenture was willing to pay any dollar amount to save their cat Pookie’s life. Although Frank isn’t much of a pet person, he knew this meant a great deal to his client and friend and comforted them about the incident. Knowing your client in this kind of depth builds the kind of relationship we preach about. For those who aren’t familiar with Accenture’s symposium, it is an 18-month program that Frank has decided we will remain a participant in indefinitely because of the great networking opportunities it brings. Please enjoy some of the snapshots we took from our last trip to Chicago.

WHAT IT MEANS TO VOLUNTEER AT PQC /

BY AARON LUDWICK The Norcross Coop was a great outreach volunteer experience. Once I arrived, I had to sign in and was briefly shown around the facility. I then was taken downstairs where I began working on sorting clothes & putting them on the correct hangers. The whole process was well organized from start to finish. Although they had a small staff, they each worked together with daily volunteers to provide food, shelter, clothes, shoes, and toys for children. Norcross had an on-site shop where families who were eligible would receive basic necessities. After volunteering I was able to process and reflect on how fortunate and blessed I am. All-in-all it was a humbling experience which I can’t wait to go back and help again.

LEADERSHIP WITH INTEGRITY

BY DAYNA BENARD On March 21st, I had the opportunity to attend a hour-long seminar and Q&A session with The Home Depot CEO, Frank Blake. The topic of discussion was Leadership with Integrity and Mr. Blake took the audience through his professional background and ascent to the top position at Home Depot. He documented Home Depot successes such as regaining the lead over Lowe’s in the DIY sector and failures such as Home Depot Expo and stagnant growth in international markets like Chile and China. The two highlights I walked away with were the Power of Recognition and the Power of Value-Based Business. From his experience with former GE CEO, Jack Welch and former Vice President George H. W. Bush, Mr. Blake knows that the power of recognition and appreciation goes a long way with associates. Additionally, what [he] makes The Home Depot successful is their belief in the Power of Value-Based Business through giving back, excellent customer service, entrepreneurial spirit, respect for all people, doing the right thing, and building strong relationships. Sounds familiar, doesn’t it? This was a wonderful opportunity to rub elbows with an innovative leader and I can’t wait to do it again!

KSU SALES SHADOW PROGRAM

BY KATY WEISBRODT At Kennesaw State University sales major students are assigned a mentor or sales professional to shadow for one semester. This program enables students to better understand how sales methodology is used in real world business relationships. Some examples of what a student shadow may experience might simply be the environment of a sales center or a sales call. Fortunately for me at PQC International I experienced the true start to finish of building relationships not just selling. I chose to major in sales because statistics show that sales are the leading focus in marketing and advertising firms. Understanding what makes your consumer buy will always determine the success of your service or product’s market value. At the end of the program we produce a report on the sales process of our assigned professional or mentor and what we learned. In return our professor and mentor compile a report on my ability to grasp the knowledge that I have just received. It is all a very exciting and wonderful opportunity for a student to get their feet wet. The most valuable piece of information I could take from shadowing Frank Payne at PQC is the importance of managing relationships and understanding your client, building trust not just contracts.

PQC MONTHLY CELEBRATION - DOUBLE TROUBLE

BY KAVITA BROWN How could anyone forget this celebration? It was special because instead of focusing on one month, we were celebrating two months of associate achievements. The first jaw-dropping incident of the celebration had to be Dayna’s grand finale; a special hair accessory for her month-long challenge. Tied neatly into a bun was her obnoxiously loud neon yellow and black wig. She strutted around posing for pictures with a great big smile, knowing that as soon as Frank would see her, she would catch some grief. She is such a great sport and probably the only one of us who could get away with this. On the big screen, a YouTube video begins to play a catchy melody while familiar voices and faces sing the new PQC International theme song. An eruption of laughter roared through the building as PQC associates watched with ear-to-ear grins as Kristy, Sun-ha, Dayna and Richard brought to life the lyrics of the song. It was clear now why some of the interns had been lurking around corners with cameras. After the video ended, associates responded with a loud applause and appreciation for the outstanding video stars. Elena then followed with the typical birthday and anniversary announcements. Since this celebration was a combination of February and March, there were quite a few celebrants. Aisha Shiddat was announced the winner of the first quarter award and was given a beautiful acrylic eagle trophy and a cash prize. Frank announced that the PQC Mentor/Mentee Program would be initiated once more, and then proceeded to introduce the 2012 participants starting the program on April 1st. Each mentee was introduced and was asked to stand by their mentor. Following this announcement was a special presentation by the PQC interns. Each intern introduced themselves, giving a short summary about their backgrounds and what value they might bring to PQC. After each intern had finished, Frank thanked them for their contributions to PQC with a gift card - and thanked Meeta as well - for leading them to a successful wrap up. Join me in congratulating the interns, the mentees, and Aisha! We always seem to have such a great time when we all get together.

THE AWARD GOES TO

BY AISHA SHIDDAT Q: What was your initial response when you heard you were the winner of the first quarter award? A: Initially, it caught me off guard because I really wasn’t expecting it! Q: What advice would you give other associates on how they can win a quarterly award? A: Just stay focused on some type of goal you want to achieve, and always continue to learn more; and not just necessarily about “your” job. It can be really easy to get stuck in a routine, but if you are not willing to take on more challenges, it can be detrimental to the growth of your career. Q: Since we only compensate measurable results at PQC, what measurable results do you think you contributed that resulted in you winning the quarterly award? A: One of the major projects I completed at the beginning of the year was the installation of the Firecast system in the lobby. I also got the chance to install and configure a new wireless router on the East End of the Office a few weeks ago, which resulted in a better wireless connection on that end. Then, there is the revamp of the PQC Website; a project that has carried over from last year. Our site has a different look and feel. We can reach our target audience on a broader scale due to the implementation of filtered analytics, better tracking methods, and language translations. Q: If you could recognize any of your fellow associates or mentors who helped you achieve this award, who would they be? A: Working at PQC International has given me the opportunity to work on several projects with associates in different departments such as the GCRO and GCOE. I would have to say that I have learned something from each of my fellow “Techies” on the internal Technology Team. I want to personally thank my mentor, Ed. I have learned a lot from him when it comes to IT such as Network and Server Administration, Hardware and Software configuration, Security Management, and Help Desk Management. I want to thank Rodney for always taking time out to answer my questions and mentoring me on Web and Application Development. I also want to thank Tim for mentoring me on the project management and business side of Technology. I haven’t worked much with Rucha, but her work ethic is great and I admire her ability to get things done. I appreciate the acknowledgement and I will continue to push myself so I can be an asset to the PQC Team.

PQC ASSOCIATE HONORS A STAND FOR HUMAN RIGHTS

BY TRISH NGUYEN “On March 5, 165 Vietnamese American community members from thirty states across the country gathered at the White House for a briefing on important issues such as the promotion of human rights, global partnerships, and opportunities for Vietnamese abroad.” - Tuyet G. Duong serves as Advisor on Civil Rights and Immigration for the White House Initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders As some may know I am heavily involved in the Asian community of Atlanta, GA and was one of the 165 Vietnamese Americans that were present for this important briefing. My group and I listened attentively to the discussions surrounding our desires to elevate the everyday Vietnamese Americans. This dialogue was an important beginning stage in developing and strengthening the government’s engagement efforts here and in Vietnam. Did you know that there are 1.55 million Vietnamese residing here in the United States? We contribute a large percentage to America’s economy, arts and culture. In being active in my community and having had this wonderful opportunity to be present at the briefing makes me feel like I am truly contributing to building a better life for my children and loved ones. I hope that my experience inspires each of you to get involved.

CATCHING YELLOW FEVER /

BY DAYNA BENARD As some of you may have noticed, there are times where I can be pretty loud, boisterous, and downright crazy while roaming the halls of PQC. As a matter of fact, Frank and I have clashed on more than one occasion in my choice to express my individualism. In January alone, I was chastised twice for wearing two different coats over the uniform that did not match the brand identity. One by one, I saw fellow female associates get reprimanded for expressing their unique styles through scarves and blazers and coats. The last straw came in February, when in Chatter, PQC TrackerSuite, and on the TV in the main lobby, an announcement was made. PQC Brand Identity becomes more important than ever. Our Clients are watching us and it is important to maintain Brand Integrity at all the time. Please, respect the PQC Brand and only wear black and/or yellow clothes (scarves, jackets, ponchos, etc.) above your yellow shirts. Thank you! Enough was enough. In that moment the Yellow Fever Challenge was birthed as a silent protest to regain our God-given right to accessorize, I decided every business day of March 2012, I would wear a different yellow accessory to work. It was really to give Frank a dose of his own medicine, but actually, it was the most entertaining thing I could have done for the company. I became enamored with the thought of wearing 22 accessories to work and getting away with it! As you saw daily on Chatter, earrings, headbands, belts, and bags, nothing was off-limits. But to be serious, by the end of the month, I truly had a new appreciation for our uniforms. Just as some in the office “would ask what’s the accessory for today?” I knew that our clients must be thinking the same thing… what are you doing today? Fellow associates, I implore each of you to catch your own case of Yellow Fever. Accessories of choice: truth, integrity, character, hard work, leadership, etc. I guarantee you can find a different accessory every day. You never know, pretty soon, people will look forward to see what you’re doing today.

FUN IN THE SUN – 7 DAYS IN THE CARRIBBEAN /

BY PETER NGUYEN You might be wondering why Richard and a few associates from the GSDPMO have been calling me Paul. After returning from a very relaxing and sun filled vacation I’ve returned almost two shades darker than I was when I left. My college buddies and I took our sevenday vacation on the Norweigen Sun Cruise which stopped in four locations Cozomel Mexico, Grand Cayman, Jamaica, and the Norweigan’s private island Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahammas. Most of our trip we enjoyed the beach and shopping the local stores. On the first night one of my friends were drafted for a YMCA performance it was a big hit for the audience and set the tone for the rest of the vacation. The entertainment director on the cruise quickly got to know our group because of our outgoing personalities and willingness to participate. Another great memory from the trip was in the Grand Cayman islands where we enjoyed a swim with some stingrays. We also met some nice Kazakhstani girls who my friends said I started a “brown – off”, meaning as we became darker from being in the sun we would compare who’s tan was darker. The trip was so much fun that I literally lost track of day and time and the weather couldn’t have been better. We had clear skies the whole time, full bellies and bottomless cups. I would recommend this cruise to all my friends looking to relax and indulge in life. Here are some great shots of me and my friends from the trip, I hope you enjoy! I know I did!

OUTSIDE THE YELLOW /

BY KAVITA BROWN On Friday, March 9, Aisha and I decided to try something fun that we have always wanted to do. We are both creative and love art. Contrary to what people may think Sip and Stroke is a art facility where individuals can learn how paint a canvas, but with a twist. You can bring your own bottle of wine and a snack. I am an artist at heart in many ways. Painting allows me to express my feelings and relieve stress. It is also a good way to enjoy a Friday night with friends. What a fun way to bring out our creativity juices into art masterpieces and enjoy a drink at the same time. Check out Sip and Stroke website by going to www.sipandstroke.net.

Throughout my college career, I worked in a variety of science labs both as a student and as a researcher in my endeavor to learn about various disciplines and work ethics. When I graduated in 2009 with a B.S. in Biology, I went to work in automotive retail with Autozone LLC. while pursuing a professional career, where I gained a comprehensive knowledge of automotive engineering and trouble-shooting. I spent three years there but left in August of last year to pursue a professional career full-time. I am glad to finally be working in a field that is my background after searching for quite some time and I hope to be part of the PQC team for as long as possible.

CHRISTOPHER SHACKLADY

Hi my name is Christopher Shacklady and I was born in Liverpool, England. Since that time I have moved to Ireland and finally to the USA with my family. I graduated from the University of West Georgia with a B.S. in Chemistry. After graduation I worked at the CDC in Atlanta for 4 years studying Cancer Biomarkers. Through that opportunity I was allowed to pursue many research avenues and work with other scientists trying to make a difference. Now I am happy to be a part of PQC working with Dr. Clow’s group at Coca-Cola performing Analytical Chemistry ensuring the safety and standards of Coca-Cola products. I am a huge movie buff and enjoy going hiking, rock climbing and on road trips. Avid gamer, enjoy watching anime and reading

PQC INTERNAL EVENTS EFFECTIVE SUCCESSION PLANNING - IMSDC CONFERENCE/

BY ANASTASIA DIPARDO Word has spread like fire about Frank’s Effective Succession planning presentation, and on April 18th, the Minority Supplier Development Council’s Indiana chapter requested Frank to speak at their local opportunity fair. Since we were going for the speaking engagement, Frank decided that we should strengthen our relationships with that chapter and determine any prospective clients. Originally, we had 22 attendees sign up, but to our surprise, when we arrived we had 42 attendees. This was the largest group to ever attend a speaking engagement at this fair. Frank’s style of speaking is always powerful and effective, and he left a lasting impression on several attendees. One attendee in particular specifically requested some further mentoring and coaching sessions for his entire management team. Several participants openly stated that they had never considered how important it was to have succession plan in place, and some had suffered because of it. Since we only planned ahead for 25 participants, we will be mailing out additional copies of his presentation to the 14 interested individuals that approached us after the presentation. Overall, the exhibit and the presentation went very well, and we will be planning to exhibit with them again in the future.

TWELVE HOURS AND 500 PHOTOS LATER/

BY PETER NGUYEN In planning the official launch of the Industrial Design department of PQC, Tim Shobe and myself were tasked with a dry-run project with the Coca-Cola plant in Phoenix, Arizona. The purpose of our trip - and the project - was to provide a proof-of-concept that showcases our abilities to provide three-dimensional renderings and updated CAD drawings of the plant. We assessed the current layout of the plant and equipment to get accurate measurements according to the provided blueprints. The reason for this is to ensure that when the plant gears up to install new equipment, or to fabricate additional add-ons, the measurements and installation process will be seamless and accurate. A plant can lose millions of dollars on inaccurate measurements and blueprints. Initially, we wanted to draw out the full-scale model of the plant but, due to the amount of detail and piping of the plant, we scaled down from a 25,000 square-foot assessment to a 10,000 square-foot assessment. We partnered with Coast 2 Coast Surveys to help us in measuring the dimensions of the equipment and the plant. The entire measurement process took about twelve hours and five-hundred pictures. The next step is to create the three-dimensional renderings based on what we gathered from the trip and present them to Coca-Cola. If results are deemed favorable and useful, this proof-of-concept project will open up a contract for PQC to assess 75 other locations. My degree in Industrial Design has given me intimate familiarity with the process in which it will take to reconstruct this 3D rendering of the plant facility. This will not only be a challenging but rewarding project for me. Also partnering with us is Applied Software; they will help us create replicas of the industrial machine models. The plant facility is one-hundred square feet, so we will be returning for more measurements once the initial process is laid out and the first presentation is approved. I’m confident that this venture will be successful for both PQC and our partners.

TALENT OF TODAY IN INDUSTRIAL DESIGN/

BY PETER NGUYEN Every year, IDSA organizes the renowned International Design Excellence Award (IDEA) competition and hosts the International Design Conference along with five regional conferences each year. Each conference invites all designers and professionals in the district to showcase and network with other professionals and students. The conference includes keynote speakers and workshops that discuss design techniques and new industry practices. My purpose for attending the conference, from a professional standpoint, was to examine the level of the talent and pinpoint where I need to be in order to compete in the industry on behalf of PQC. While at the conference, I met one of our associates Clayton Burnett, and we discussed my project in Phoenix and also what he has going on at the EDC. Clayton also has a background in Industrial Design. One of the professionals I met, Tim Fletcher, Business Development Manager from Daedalus, spoke to us about how companies are using design techniques to solve project management issues by using research techniques prior to their production phases. John Rogers of Local Motors was also a keynote speaker at the conference. I was particularly familiar with this firm and the speaker due to having submitted one of my designs to them when I was in college. Loco Motors is headquartered in Phoenix, AZ, and they also have an online community where they post project ideas and have members of the forum submit their design concepts. The selected winner is not only paid for their design submission, but is also allowed to participate in the building phases. This is very unique because most companies are hesitant about letting outside individuals submit designs. Next time we are back in Phoenix, I would love to visit the Local Motors headquarters. To anyone with interest in product design, industrial design, ergonomics, design management, universal design, and related design fields, should consider attending the next conference. It is not only very educational and insightful, but it is also a lot of fun.

COCA-COLA EXECUTIVE JERRY WILSON’S RETIREMENT CEREMONY/

BY DAYNA BENARD May 1, 2012 is a day that will go down in the record books for The Coca-Cola Company. For at the close of business, one of the most humble, compassionate, and friendly cheerleaders at the company will exit the building for the last time. Jerry Wilson, Senior Vice President and Chief Customer and Commercial Officer is retiring from The Coca-Cola Company after 24 years of service. For a man who’s mantra was “It’s all about the people”, plenty of people, including friends, family, and coworkers (past and present) gathered on April 18, 2012 to commemorate the legacy of Jerry S. Wilson. There was no shortage of stories recounting Jerry’s rise within the company. Jerry’s innovative leadership style, his willingness to engage in the customer community, his upbeat spirit, and his genuine concern about the “Brand of You” all led to the highlight of the evening. Jerry’s administrative assistant and friend of 9 years, Melinda Tinsley presented Jerry with a certificate indicating she had purchased a star in his name. For there is no star brighter than Jerry S. Wilson. The evening closed by Jerry, graciously thanking his family for being right by his side every step of his fantastic journey, and friends for their support over the years. While he indicated that he did not know what his next challenge would be, he was positive that The Coca-Cola Company would continue to do great things in his absence and we are all members of the next great era at The Coca-Cola Company. PQC International is proud to know Jerry S. Wilson and call him friend. We’ll miss you Jerry!

PQC MONTHLY CELEBRATION

BY JENNIFER SEIFERT This month marked a milestone for PQC International, and Frank informed the entire team of the event at the April celebration. He excitedly told the team that PQC is now a Microsoft Silver Partner, and that this is a major, positive step in our relationship with the Microsoft Corporation. It will allow PQC to be Microsoft certified and also bring us even more business than previously had. However, this was not the end of the exciting news. Shortly after praising the team for their hard work and efforts, Frank let the entire team listen to a voicemail he received from the Senior Vice President and Chief Customer and Commercial Officer of Coca-Cola. He put his phone on speaker, and the PQC team listened as the Senior VP of Coca-Cola praised Frank and the PQC team for the outstanding work they are doing, and continue to do, for the Coca-Cola Corporation. After informing the team of all the exciting things happening within the corporation, Frank then proceeded to honor those with birthdays and anniversaries. Celebrating birthdays in the month of April were Michael Dunning, Peter Nguyen, Harshil Patel, and Tim Shobe. Celebrating anniversaries were Andres Aviles, Catreena Cabacungan, and Vishal Bhavsar. Needless to say, the month of April was a pretty rewarding month for all of us here at PQC International.

PQC FAMILIES I LOVE SEOUL

BY SUNHA LEE My first stop on my way to Seoul was a one-day excursion in San Francisco, CA. We visited the famous Cliff House Restaurant and the Golden Gate Park, a location where you can see the Golden Gate Bridge very clearly. It was a very beautiful city, but it seemed very cluttered the way the houses were built so close to each other. It was also unseasonably cold for Spring. I didn’t particularly care for the architecture of the buildings or the way the city layout, but I had fun and the food was great. The next day, we flew to Seoul. When we landed, the city looked very different than I had remembered. The air seemed smoggy and dark, and it didn’t feel like home at all. It felt like just another busy city I have visited before. When we arrived in my hometown the next day, that did feel like home! I have been waiting for eleven years to go back and see my family, so it felt like a dream. It was a very emotional moment for me and I am so happy I had the opportunity to go back. Another great part of my trip was a chance to visit one of my favorite design firms in Seoul. It was completely by chance that I got to go because my friend knew the couple that owned the studio. You can see some of their work on their website at zeroperzero.com. I learned that the firm consisted of only the husband and the wife, and they don’t accept all projects submitted to them. Their reason was that they only want to design what they feel fits their style. To me it seemed very “in-the-box,” and made me sad that they don’t even have control of what they get paid per project. In Korea, the way designers think is very different than what we were taught in the United States. Another place I visited was my mother’s hometown of Nonsan. It was very nice to see my grandparents, but it was sad as well because I am not sure when I will get to go back home again. While I was with my mother’s family we went to a festival in Goonsan. It was a festival of foods and crafts. I bought some fish there that is hard to come by in the states, and brought it back home with me. There was also a jewelry store that I visited where I purchased my gifts for everyone. Each piece of jewelry is handmade and unique. The one place I would recommend to any traveler looking to visit Seoul is the Nan Tower. The cable car ride is beautiful and there is a café at the top of the mountain that is very good. It is nice to be back home in the states and I hope to return to Seoul again soon to visit my family.

PQC INTERNAL EVENTS PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN/

BY CATREENA CABACUNGAN Some of us take for granted the freedoms we have here in America quite frequently. We move so freely about in our daily lives, never second-guessing the difficulties others might face. Fortunately, at PQC, we have a team of people who take the time to truly accept and support each other. On May 4th, it was no surprise to see how many associates attended the special Citizenship Ceremony of Anastasia Dipardo. Have you ever thought about how difficult it is to find a job in today’s economy? Now, think about how hard it might be for a foreigner to find work. Well, it is just as hard (if not harder) to become a U.S Citizen. In 2011, the Gafner Law Firm in New York created a fiscal calendar of how many people become naturalized each year. In 2010 alone, 675,967 people took the oath to become citizens of the United States. At the ceremony the director stated that becoming a citizen of the United States is the highest honor next to becoming president. At PQC, we know firsthand the difficulties it takes, and unlike many corporations, we open our doors to “talent” not “Visa Status”. We have several associates in house still waiting to become a citizen, and we joined together as a company to congratulate and share in the honor that Anastasia received. It may not be a big deal to some, but it is a big deal to us, and we support anyone going through the same trials. You left your home country to build a better life for yourself and your families, and we are glad you chose to do so here. Congratulations Anastasia! We are so proud of you!

STRONG LIKE TARZAN

BY AMANDA SWAFFORD As I think about the trip to Dallas with the AT&T Presentation Team, I think the photos that Frank took of Dayna, Elena and I while we were there are so amusing and ironic. This is mainly due to the fact that the majority of the images are conveying the “Tarzan chest beating” that Dayna so elegantly did right before the presentation began…and as one of the executives walked into the room. If you research what it means when someone “beats their chest”, one of the answers that you will find is that it stems from being excited and alert. The reason why I think the photos of us reenacting this scene is ironic is because it is just so fitting of that moment. We were ready and excited to show AT&T who we were and what all we can do to ‘move the dial’ for them. We were excited to show them just how great our company and our services are and how much we cared. We had our game faces on as soon as we walked into that building and we were ready to just blow them away with our presentation. From the very beginning of the RFP response process to the day we were presenting, which was almost an entire month, we had lived and breathed that document. Each one of us knew the information like the back of our hand, which is why we were so eager to start our presentation that day! To be honest, I really was not sure what to expect from the trip. I truly enjoyed every part of the experience, well- besides Frank’s crazy driving! Although I thought I would be anxious before and during the presentation, it was actually quite the opposite. I felt a sense of calmness and sureness around me that entire morning. Before a quick bite to eat, we sat down at Barnes and Nobles and briefly walked through various sections of the presentation, more so in a question and answer type of fashion with Frank being the one to ask not answer. After lunch, like I said, it was game time as we walked into AT&T’s Learning Center. As soon as we finished our presentation (and the pictures), we went to Salt Grass to have a celebration steak. Throughout the day, we all got to know and understand each other better, which to me, was really one of the highlights of the trip. Even after a 17 hour day, we all went home with a feeling of accomplishment and big smiles on our faces. Without knowing it at the time, when Dayna pulled a tarzan, she really did symbolize all of our mentalities of excitement for that trip and I am so glad that we captured a glimpse of that state in a few photos to look back on and reflect.

IVEY PREP COLLEGE AND CAREER DAY/

BY LOUIS HARRIS Ivy Prep is a public, all-girls charter school located in Norcross. Ivy Prep’s mission is to thoroughly prepare their scholars to enter and succeed in the colleges and universities of their choice. They have a strong college-going culture, which is embedded in all aspects of their curriculum and school environment. I was asked to be prepared to give two 50 minute presentations covering my career. Some things specifically asked for were: • Description of my career. • What is a typical day like for me? • The skills that are necessary for my career. • What led me to select my career. • What do I like most/least about my position? • What advice do I have for scholars interested in this field? In carrying out this request, I asked Dayna to collaborate with me. After all, this was a girl’s school and I felt that they would really get a lift by hearing from Dayna, with her brilliant personality and impressive educational background. Upon introduction to our first audience, we conducted the presentation by speaking a little to the above mentioned questions and by showing a brief video titled “Engineers Can Do Anything!” This video was made for anyone who might be interested in becoming an engineer. It delivered fun facts about engineering careers in a fun, motivating, and engaging way. After the video, we closed by fielding questions and engaging the girls in an interactive quiz and prize session. The prizes that were awarded were banner buttons labeled with various engineering expressions. The girls loved the buttons and they also loved Dayna. All in all, this was a good experience for me. I was glad to have been able to share with the kids and to see how eagerly they absorbed information. Can you imagine the pride I would feel if one day one of these young ladies became a famous engineering professional, and during a television interview she responded that she was inspired to start her career by the presentation given by Dayna and I? Wow! What a Thought!

PQC INTERNAL EVENTS 2ND ANNUAL COCA-COLA GLOBAL EQUIPMENT SUPPLIER ROUNDTABLE/

BY CATREENA CABACUNGAN What makes something the “best”? The answer is most commonly quantified by metrics that measure above the average. A major component in Coca-Cola’s 2020 Vision is ” be a responsible citizen that makes a difference by helping build and support sustainable communities.” In June, Coca-Cola recently hosted the second Annual Global Equipment Supplier Roundtable which is a global meeting, designed to strategically align and drive that vision to success. In 2009 Coca-Cola and its bottling partners announced that all vending machines and coolers would become 100% HFC free by 2015. Pete Rohwer is Director of Global Equipment Commercialization for The Coca-Cola Company and described in our interview the importance of building this collaborative effort to make that goal a reality. In the first roundtable meeting last year only the top ten cooler suppliers were involved. This year the roundtable event was expanded to include the top twelve cooler suppliers, the top two vending suppliers, and the top two fountain suppliers to create broader global collaboration across the supply base. By bringing the best together Coca-Cola defines a true focus on what is expected and building confidence and encouragement for its supply partners. Going back to what makes something the best, having the best people involved develops a roadmap to achieving success. In order to reach this goal, supply partners are brought together in this meeting to address challenges, clarify expectations and develop solutions that will enable The Coca-Cola Company to deliver against the objectives outlined in the 2020 vision. The roundtable provided the right environment and focus against three big initiatives that are the keys to future success for The Coca-Cola System. Implement CO2 as the HFC free natural refrigerant for all equipment, reduce energy consumption across all models and adopt the Coca-Cola 3D Visual Identity System on all key models. Focused efforts against these key initiatives will ensure success for The Coca-Cola Company and its supply partners. There is a lot of preparation in putting together a meeting consisting of seventy-one executives representing an estimation of fifteen different countries. Precautions must always be taken so that legal issues do not arise, as well as creating an open environment where guests feel free to share thoughts and ideas. Because of the planning and success that surrounds this meeting and the inviting environment, Coca-Cola has seen great progress and collaboration between everyone involved and it is possible that the roundtable meeting will expand even more so next year.

ATLANTA VETERAN JOB FAIR/

BY MEETA CHAITANYA Since the passing of the Veterans Back to Work Act, companies have taken an increased interest in hiring active duty and military veterans. The purpose of us attending the event was to seek potential candidates with specific backgrounds. The event was hosted at the Georgia World Congress Center and several large companies were in attendance. Our booth was one of the largest and definitely top visited due to our military appearance and diverse look. We were only beat out by Lockheed Martin because they were hiring on site. We had great conversations and received 125 resumes from the event. I can definitely see us attending another job fair such as this due to being a great resource pool for candidates that we are targeting and the experience levels that these candidates bring. We may have had a even better response had we attended with mostly American or military background associates. Simply because we would be able to connect more with potential candidates and speak to them more so from their perspective. Overall, attending the event was a great success and we will continue to be involved in job fairs such as these.

A TALE OF TWO QUESTIONS/

BY MEETA CHAITANYA One veteran walked up to me and said he had two questions for me. The first he asked was how I wore my uniform so well. The second was why I did not know how to wear my beret! I told him that the reason for wearing the uniform well was that we wore uniforms to work every day. The reason for me not being right about the beret was that we wore berets only on special occasions, and, occasionally. He was bemused and instead of talking about a prospective opportunity, he gave me a lesson on how to wear the beret – 2 inches from the ear, an inch from the eyebrow. The remedied result was captured in the group photo we took later! I will always remember the two questions‌

KRAFT VISITS PQC/

BY AMANDA SWAFFORD On June 28, 2012, PQC International was honored to have our good friends from Kraft Foods, Inc., Jirair Barseghian, Bernie Duffy, and Jim Mitchell, come to our Corporate Headquarters for an intense one-day strategy session. Earlier in the year, the corporation announced that it would be splitting into two separate companies, Kraft Foods Group, Inc. and Mondelez International, Inc. in January 2013. In order to comply with SEC regulations and have a successful transition, all intellectual property must be 100% separated before the official January 1st deadline. Once the two new companies are official, neither side is allowed to communicate and collaborate with the other, as if they both were still under one parent organization. With such an enormous undertaking and responsibility, PQC International did not take this continued partnership and trust lightly. Dayna Benard, Richard Sylvia, Tim Shobe, Frank Payne and myself, were all ready to move quickly for wherever the session lead. But in true PQC fashion, we could not begin the meeting without being a little wacky and having a little fun beforehand. Before I discussed the agenda and the logistics for the day, Dayna was given the pleasure of playing a special video for our guests that was created by Catreena Cabacungan and Anthony Payne. JB was in for a surprise when the ending was actually footage of him singing from a past boot camp with Frank. Although I cannot disclose all that was discussed in the meeting, I will say that I was so impressed with these three men and their desire to want to be innovative and open to change, where necessary. It is not every day when you see an organization so willing to look in the mirror and be honest with themselves about the true state of their organization and see nothing but growth and opportunities for success. I learned so much during those 10 hours in that room, not just about the upcoming strategy, but more so about who each of these men was as people and the relationships that they each have with PQC. I am so excited to be able to see how the future unfolds for these organizations and our continued relationship throughout the process!

PQC FAMILIES PQC’S NEW BABY ANNOUNCEMENT/

BY DAYNA BENARD Earlier this month, I had the pleasure of sharing some very exciting news with the PQC Family. I announced that my husband and I were expecting our 2nd child at the end of the year. While the news was exciting in itself, it’s always more fun to think of ways to inform our President and CEO, Frank Payne of an impending arrival. Both Catreena and I have had this opportunity in the past three years and this time was no different! As you know, at the company headquarters, we have a big screen tv in the entrance of the foyer. The screen often scrolls announcements, company metrics, and associate birthdays and anniversaries. I conspired with Kristy Lee to post the picture of my ultrasound on the announcement board. The plan was that Frank would see the picture and subsequently scrutinize and investigate every person in the office in an attempt to find the owner of the picture. Well, it worked! For hours Frank went to every woman, including myself in the office that day looking for the culprit. One by one, we all denied it and started to blame the men for the picture. Many suspected it was me, but I denied it to keep up the thrill of the chase. We did get one admission of guilt by our very own Sun-Ha Lee who confessed she was having a baby with an American so she could get her green card to remain in the country! FUNNY! Pretty soon, after I could see Frank’s distress and his hair turning gray, I confessed to owning the picture. I felt like time stood still as the words left my lips and traveled to his ears. He looked down to the ground, sighed, and shook his head. He looked like Mitt Romney will look losing to Barak Obama in the November 2012 election. He swallowed the humbleness of defeat and congratulated me for my blessing! I was happy to release my secret knowing I had the blessing of my mentor… until Kristy came into the office with blond and pink hair at the end of the week. Frank quickly blamed me for the rebellion among PQC ladies. Well, the peace was short lived and the hectic, yet normal shenanigans at PQC resumed.

VEGAS HAIR FOR THE ELECTRONIC DAISY CARNIVAL/

BY KRISTY LEE On June 6,2012, I gathered up my courage and texted my CEO, Frank Payne, the most ridiculous question: Can I come to work tomorrow with pink hair? To my surprise, Frank said - yes, it would look good for the moment (as long as you are not interfacing with any clients). What was I sacrificing my beautiful hair for? I was heading to Las Vegas to one of the biggest music festivals in USA – the Electric Daisy Carnival. EDC combines the world’s most renowned performance and electronic dance music talent with leading-edge production, art, and special effects to create an unparalleled experience of sight and sound that you will have to encounter to believe! So, I spent the later part of the day bleaching my hair and coloring it pink but it was a failure. I came to work on June 7th with orange-pink hair, but luckily for me, I have 2 hair specialist colleagues, Catreena and Anastasia, who volunteered to spend their lunch hour to fix my hair for me in the prohibited 4th floor bathroom. Thanks to them, I left Atlanta with great hair! The music festival was one of a kind - seven gigantic stages with great music and light shows that blow your mind, multiple brightly-lit carnival rides, and great people. Las Vegas, of course, is interesting and fun enough by itself! I went to see a couple of shows, my favorite being Cirque Du Solei – Mystere. My favorite part of the trip is my boyfriend’s meeting of the parents! Even though we both had crazy hair, my parents seemed to have taken a liking to him. We had a great lunch and my parents left us to continue on our trip. Overall, we had a great time in Vegas and it’s true, whatever happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas (even what happens the day before Vegas), as I had to sit in a salon for eight hours after I returned to turn my hair back to a work-appropriate color. Frank said: no more pink hair, that was a one in a lifetime request and it has expired.

THE CEO’s OUTLOOK

Frank Payne, PMP MBA/HRM, MBA/TM, CPME, CFPM Project Management Evangelist™ Chairman/ CEO PQC International, Inc.

At PQC we teach that measurable results are the keys to profitable and quantifiable advancements in business. In order to provide measurable results you have to pocess the knowledge and provide commitment to achieving set goals. At PQC associates are encouraged to develop their skills and competencies through various workshops, webinars, and self study. If you haven’t taken time to develop a skill that you’re weak in then you are not taking the time to invest in yourself. The first step is knowing what you want, the second step is going after it. Through knowledge and our commitment we have achieved a great deal. This month we are delighted to share that we have earned another partner recognition from CocaCola. I will be speaking at the Partners in Promise event on behalf of PQC regarding the successes we have accomplished through our partnership and for Coca-Cola. To the leadership team and those involved in the Coca-Cola projects thank you for your dedication and hard work. To our partner Coca-Cola thank you for this honor. Yours sincerely, Frank Payne

WELCOME TO THE PQC FAMILY JESSICA PIAZZA

I attended Kennesaw State University, obtaining my B.B.A. in Marketing, while also being heavily involved in their sales program and competing in the National Collegiate Sales Competition (NCSC). I was able to secure a semifinalist title at the NCSC, placing in the top ten of 122 competitors from North America. My work experience reflects the sales background that KSU provided me with, and I have been very blessed to see my hard work pay off by obtaining post-graduate positions with Fortune 50 and Fortune 300 companies before finding my home here at PQC International. I recently had a trying year, medically, and from that I have learned to appreciate every day that is given to me and positively touch as many lives as possible. Through that experience, I now spend as much time with my loved ones, including my adorable, chubby-cheeked 10-month old nephew! I have two older sisters, and because of them, I have always been one of the youngest at nearly everything I do, which I take great pride in. In my bit of spare time on the weekends, I enjoy reading, indoor rock climbing, hiking trails, and philanthropic activities, typically with my boyfriend.

CLAYTON BURNETT

I was born and raised in Dunwoody, Georgia. I graduated from Georgia Tech in May of 2012 with a BS in Industrial Design. I have been interested in product design and aesthetics since an early age. I am also interested in car restoration and have taken part in the restoration of many different classic cars in my family. I love eating and trying new and different types of food from all over the world. Some of my other hobbies include drawing, cooking, and watersports.

PQC INTERNAL EVENTS COCA-COLA PARTNERS IN PROMISE /

BY CATREENA CABACUNGAN The PQC team attended the Coca-Cola Partners in Promise Event at the Coca-Cola Headquarters. While waiting for the event to start, Dayna and I spotted Vickie Irwin, a previous associate, at the bar. We caught up with her and learned that she is currently working at Georgia Power. Soon after the team was led to the red carpet where we took a picture before heading to the auditorium for the award ceremony. During the ceremony, we learned of the many minority suppliers that were able to succeed because they had worked with Coca-Cola, including PQC. When Frank took the stage, the crowd immediately “woke up. Frank, as usual, made the crowd laugh and gave an inspiring speech. He gave a heartfelt recognition to Dayna Benard, Catreena Cabacungan and myself regarding the honor of being included in the Freestyle Mural. After that, the awards were presented to the awardees and everyone was then led to the reception. By this time my gorgeous red heels had begun to torture my poor feet, the only thing that kept me going was the wonderful compliments I received about them through out the night. At the end of the night all attendees received a pledge from the CEO of The Coca-Cola Company, Muhtar Kent, as a souvenir for the night. It was a very nice event and I am fortunate to get the opportunity to attend. Please enjoy the photos I snapped during the event.

PQC FAMILIES MAMA MEETA & INTERNS/

BY CATREENA CABACUNGAN Although Meeta does not seem to particularly care for that nickname, she truly fits the part. Her nickname “Mama Meeta” comes from the same source where most of our nicknames derive from - our CEO, Frank Payne. She was appointed the “Mama” of the interns because of her big heart and fire to defend her people. Don’t mistake her generosity and kindness for weakness though. If you ask any intern, she governs with a firm hand and gives infallible guidance. It should be a nickname we all strive to resemble when working with each other. Fairness and compassion with a little splash of fun every once in awhile.

VISITING NATCHEZ MISSISSIPPI/

BY CATREENA CABACUNGAN It is always a treat when we get to reconnect with family and friends. Frank went back home to visit with his three siblings and family for their annual Payne Family Reunion. A great surprise and significant highlight for him was meeting a long lost neice. Recently, the family found out that his brother had a son and a daughter after his passing. Frank’s niece has three beautiful children one of which looks just like Frank’s brother Willie Payne. Another memorable moment was getting the opportunity to speak with his God mother and hearing her stories of when he was young and the times of his mother and father. Here are some photos taken from his trip. Enjoy!

MEETA’S PARENTS/

BY MEETA CHAITANYA My parents visited me in the month of July and made a little trip to the Norcross office. Apparently intentionally, and much to my surprise, my mom was dressed in the PQC colors – black and yellow – to show her ‘rendition’ of the PQC brand. Needless to add, she mentioned it to Frank and Richard right away – and they were both ‘duly flattered’. Thereafter, Frank got a smack of Indian conversation when my parents spoke with him about Indian culture, the Indian ‘military’ ethos, the Indian marriage, my dad’s tee-totalism barring the solitary sham-beer and much much more. For me, it was a two-way report card, and I think I can confidently state that I did good. To all of you that my parents couldn’t meet – they extend a warm, huge hug and an open invite to our home(s) in India and Malaysia. Trust me, you’d love this smack of Indian hospitality – laced with Roti Canai! To all my friends that did meet them, I want to extend a gracious thank you. I appreciate each one of you, and want to let you know that my mama and papa have taken with them precious, indelible, happy memories! Thank you, PQC.

ASIAN CULTURAL EXPERIENCE 2012/

BY CATREENA CABACUNGAN On July 28th in the Gwinnet Center you might have caught a few of our PQC associates performing at the 19th Annual Asian Cultural Experience celebration. This event is celebrated each year with the help of 1,500 volunteers representing 15 Asian countries. The event focused on the culture and heritage of Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam. Our associates Trish Nguyen and Tam Huynh participated in the cultural fashion show representing the beautiful dresses found in the Vietnamese culture. Many wonderful performances were seen at the event ranging from folk dances to beautiful cultural music and talented singers. One of those talented singers happens to be our very own EPMO Manager, Kristy Lee! She, and several others, sang as a large group named the VariAsians. The celebration lasted two days and each day was packed with food, crafts, music, and performances! If you have never been to one of these events you should definitely consider it! It’s a lot of fun and very educational! Enjoy some of the photos snapped by our CEO, Frank Payne.

PQC INTERNAL EVENTS KUDOS TO PQC /

BY WAYNE GREENBERG At this time the Showcase Cooler team and Coca-Cola are planning for next year’s budget and project milestones. In reviewing the milestones achieved during the previous year the team realized the true amount of measurable results contributed by PQC. Greg Sample sent a heart-felt thank you to our PQC team and CEO for our contributions in helping to achieve the current successes of the project. In a year we brought a great deal of organization and project management that was initially missing. Through leveraging the design resources of the OEM’s, PQC helped deliver the missing original requirements requested in the products for the markets. When PQC was first introduced to the Showcase Cooler project it was about ten years old and had in the last seven years had some significant hiccups. In one year, PQC assisted in streamlining the process and drove the deliverables needed to meet what Coca-Cola wanted for the Showcase Cooler project. As Coca-Cola sets its goals for next year, PQC continues to assist in helping to achieve the big picture. To see the bigger picture clearly, PQC’s associates created a storyboard that illustrated the pathway needed to achieve the goals set by Coca-Cola for the mass market of the Showcase Coolers. The storyboard was created in collaboration between PQC associates and now gives Coca-Cola the road map they need to determine their next steps. Special recognition and thanks go to Meeta, Sun-ha and Catreena for creating the graphics we needed to illustrate to our client where we are and where we need to go to accomplish success. In addition, thank you to our team in the Showcase Cooler project for their delivery of results and outstanding work.

PREPPING FOR THE SAS CONFERENCE /

BY MEETA CHAITANYA One of the perks to our new partnership with SAS is that we will be one of the sponsoring partners for the SAS Analytics Conference. In a push to show our great passion for SAS and analytics we have created a banner on the home page of our PQC website. Our banner allows those interested in attending the conference a discounted fee for going through us to purchase their admission. This conference will be a huge event for us due to its brand recall for PQC. Our involvement in the conference showcases our passion for analytics and exposes us as a preferred brand in that space. In addition our CEO will be one of the session speakers, which gives great exposure of our credibility. Here at PQC we are focused on helping our CEO, Frank Payne build a presentation that will have people gravitating towards him and our booth all day. In preparation for the SAS Conference we will also be creating a social media buzz about us participating in the conference, as we get closer to the event. Our plan is to get our followers as excited about this conference as we are. We are confident that our diligent preparation and participation in the SAS Analytics conference will leave a lasting impact that will lead us to bigger and better opportunities.

DRESSED TO IMPRESS /

BY SUN-HA LEE It was a great honor to have been able to attend the 30th Annual GMSDC Spirit of Alliance award ceremony with Frank and Elena on September 21st. Much like the previous year everyone was dressed so elegantly and the food was superb. As you can see from the photos GMSDC knows how to throw a party. The room was decked out in blue drapes with extravagant center pieces on each table, some accented with blue lights. As Frank made his rounds to greet all of our partners and friends I clicked away at the camera. If you are not familiar with the Spirit of Alliance awards it is an annual award ceremony hosted by GMSDC and sponsoring Fortune 500 companies to recognize and honor individuals, companies, and government entities for their contributions to supplier diversity and minority business development in Georgia. I hope you enjoy the photos I took as much as I enjoyed taking them.

Please join me in congratulating John-Michael Bedsole and Ashok Guru for being the quarterly award winners and making such a big contribution to the PQC brand through their client service. Elena followed with announcing the winners of the GCOE survey and the Mentor/ Mentee challenge. The winners for the Mentor/ Mentee challenge were Jennifer Seifert and Catreena Cabacungan for their great presentation on mentoring and its importance in our corporation with others. After awards were distributed and everyone ate the real fun began. Teams were split up and the competitive nature came out. It was a close game between each player since so many of them were brand new to the Wii system. At the end we all had a blast and the top four were chosen as winners and received gifts for such a great game. If you missed out on the fun we hope to see you at our next quarterly event. BY YUXUAN LUO After dating with my wife for two years, we were engaged. Two months after, on September 6th, we got married. We’ve shared many wonderful moments together and I love her deeply. I understand that marriage is a symbol of commitment and responsibilities, yet at the same time, it is the symbol of a happier and stable relationship. According to researchers at Michigan State University, men are actually happier after marriage than they would be if they stayed single. I am truly happier than ever before. And I want to share my happiness with each of you at PQC.

THE CEO’s OUTLOOK

Frank Payne, PMP MBA/HRM, MBA/TM, CPME, CFPM Project Management Evangelist™ Chairman/ CEO PQC International, Inc.

Life can be just as unpredictable as rolling a set of dice, but, that is what makes it worth while! At the SAS Analytics Conference I spoke about how numbers can tell a story, I also tried to instill in my audience the importance of embracing problems rather than running from them. Instead assess the situation and develop a plan of action. All corporations face difficulties, but it is how they deal with those difficulties that make them even better than they were before. At PQC we live by these words, measurable results. I encourage you to seize this day and drive the results you expect. Happy Reading! Yours sincerely, Frank Payne

PQC INTERNAL EVENTS THE STORY THE NUMBERS TELL /

BY MEETA CHAITANYA At the outset of the month, the PQC team comprising Frank Payne, Elena Bondari, Delmonty Jones, Anthony Payne and I were honored to be a part of the SAS Analytics conference as a sponsor and Silver Member. For us, this was a unique opportunity to gain exposure for PQC’s self-crafted Analytics delivery approach. Our objectives specifically, were – to deliver the speech, Why Analytics is Worthless- Making Numbers Tell The Story, as a portal for potential business opportunities; to facilitate knowledge sharing (and knowledge gaining) from other academic institutions, companies, professionals and students and to strengthen our ties with SAS, Kennesaw State and Oklahoma State Universities. Customarily, the PQC Brand stood out because of the brilliant uniform and our customized booth. Owing to quality collateral, we were the most popular company booth even in the absence of free giveaways. In fact, we ran out of our White-papers earlier than anticipated and gained more resumes than expected. Our interns gained tremendous exposure walking the floor and taking pictures. Again, customarily Frank’s speech drew a huge crowd, and resulted in many conversations thereafter. His speech, based on a unique storytelling model and delivered using the storytelling technique paved the way for an ongoing association with future SAS conferences for not just Frank, but the PQC team. The speech garnered so much interest that as a team, we have now decided to change the format, and in fact, the titular nomenclature of all company collateral to focus instead on pure and simple storytelling. (Get with me for more on that!) Another highlight was the total, dependable team support from Norcross – from instant updates to the website, blog and video on cue from me, I was humbled and bowled over by the excellent quality and timely execution of updates. Thank you Richard Sylvia, Catreena Cabacungan, Yuxuan Lou, Sunha Lee and Jennifer Seifert. The CRMO team has once again stood out thanks to the excellent, welltimed runner-up to the event online and with offline collateral- SAS banner, SAS Page, Blog and Blog for SAS, seamless coordination with SAS regarding invitations prior to the event and smooth daily debriefs at the conference. Personally, this was a first for me in many ways; the first time that Marketing got representation at external events – the first time that I traveled with the team, the first time that I stayed away from the sumptuous buffets willingly, the first time that I had to show my ID EVERYWHERE, the first time that I did not lunch with V and Rich for a whole business week, and regardless of what Frank tells you, the first time that I did not see him gamble, but know that he won, and that PQC won in more ways than one! Obviously adages get a beating – for “what happens in Vegas (in this case), gets transmitted to the whole world, and the world’s uncle”…

RONALD MCDONALD AT COCA-COLA

BY CATREENA CABACUNGAN I spoke with Jake Slocum to get some more information on the story behind the infamous photo snapped of our associates Peter Nero, Michael Dunning, and Louis Harris at the CocaCola campus. As it happens, the photo actually makes them stand out for all the right reasons! Coca-Cola hosts an outstanding community fundraising event for Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities. Each year Coca-Cola allows Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities to promote their fundraiser at their campus to help raise awareness and encourages its associates and partners to get involved. For those unfamiliar with Ronald McDonald House Charities, they help families who are facing hardships while caring for a critically ill child in the hospital. The charity provides a place to sleep and warm meals for as little as $20 a night, but no one is ever turned away for financial reasons. Every year the BMW Southern Region and its local dealerships donate a BMW vehicle up for a raffle and all tickets sold for the raffle go towards the charity’s current $130,000 goal which ends on November 30th. The fundraiser has been a great success over the past 13 years and has raised over $1.5 million dollars for the charity. At PQC we encourage our associates to get involved and this charity is definitely a big help to our community. INDUSTRIAL DESIGNERS SOCIETY OF AMERICA (IDSA) OUTREACH

BY PETER NGUYEN It was truly a great honor to participate in this year’s IDSA High School Outreach program as one of the Atlanta’s design professionals. The purpose of this program was to expose high scholars to industrial design as a career path and its design process through sponsored design challenges. This year’s three-week program, called “enLIGHT,” was sponsored by Home Depot and took place at both Grady High School and Frederick Douglass High School. Teams were given a $50 Home Depot gift card and the task to design and build a DYI (do-it-yourself) LED lighting device. During the three-week program, my team of high school students was able to understand the design thinking process and build an awesome light under time, resource, and money restrictions. On Oct. 5, 2012, a celebration was held at Design Within Reach where each team had the opportunity to present their work to the Atlanta design community. Out of 15 teams, our team came in second place with our hanging light called “Icebox.” The light utilized three acrylic boxes that were sanded to have a ‘frosted’ look and rotated within each other to create a light that is simple yet dynamic, soft, and inviting to the eye. All 15 designs are now displayed at The Home Depot Store Support Center.

PQC MENTORING PROGRAM HOMECOMING POTLUCK

BY CATREENA CABACUNGAN At PQC we embrace the diversity of cultures that make up our corporation. Each year PQC puts on a potluck and all associates participating try to bring in a dish that either represents their culture or one that they enjoy. This year the PQC Mentoring Program hosted the event and as associates learned about how to do business in Mexico, Spain, Japan and other attendees also enjoyed different foods and the company of a few little trick-or-treaters. Thank you to the Global Center of Excellence for coordinating this fun event. It is definitely something I look forward to each year.

THE CEO’s OUTLOOK Communication is the strong foundation to any relationship. At PQC, every associate upon hire is equipped with a black and red notebook. Why? Because in order to build a strong relationship, you have to listen! Be an intense listener and note taker! Doing so shows that you are invested in the conversation and the relationship you are building. As we begin to bring 2012 to a close, reflect on the relationships you’ve built this year. What are you doing today to make them better? Due to the commitment we show to our relationships we are rewarded time and time again. Join me in congratulating our PQC team for graduating from the Accenture Diversity Supplier Development Program DSDP III 2012 Class, earning the Protégé Frank Payne, PMP of the Year award, and the Best Reporting Score MBA/HRM, MBA/TM, CPME, CFPM Award. Congratulations for all your hard work! Project Management Evangelist™ Chairman/President/CEO PQC International, Inc.

PQC INTERNAL EVENTS Accenture DSPD III Protégé of the Class Award

BY ELENA BONDARI I am honored to announce that on November 8, 2012, PQC International graduated from the Accenture Diversity Supplier Development Program (DSDP) III and received the following recognition(s) for outstanding performance in the program: · Accenture Diversity Supplier Development Program (DSDP) III Class 2012 Completion · “Protégé of the Year” Award · Award for Best Reporting Score For those of you that are not familiar with DSDP III Program, Accenture established its Supplier Diversity Development Program to develop and expand relationships with diverse suppliers. By cultivating an array of relationships they promote opportunities for various enterprises and the long-term success of Accenture. In March 2011, PQC International was honored to be selected to participate in this 18-month program. Benefitting from the mentorship, networking, and robust training content, the learning gained through the DSDP III enabled PQC International to refine existing processes and increase engagement with our associates, resulting in an increase in productivity and client acquisition. Participation in the Accenture DSDP III provided us with great executive mentors: Jane Flynn - Royko, Patrick Coyne, and Frank Shuford and gave us access to quarterly training symposia focused on core business practices. The goal of this program is to provide the participants with relevant information when we need it, enabling us to apply it within our businesses to yield high performance results. As a participant in the Accenture DSDP III, our benefits included: · Mentoring from Accenture executives · Networking opportunities with top Accenture executives · Developmental symposia in the areas of marketing/sales, financial analysis, e-commerce, strategic planning and workforce development, just to name a few. CONGRATULATIONS to the PQC Team for this high-level achievement! Please enjoy the pictures we captured from the event.

PQC MENTORING PROGRAM OUTREACH CHALLENGE

BY CATREENA CABACUNGAN For the month of November, the PQC Mentoring Program challenge was to choose an outreach opportunity and get other associates outside of the mentoring program involved. As many of you know at the very heart of PQC is a very strong humanitarian belief, especially for children in need. Thanks to the very informative calender of Hands on Atlanta, it was easy for Jennifer and I to select an opportunity to volunteer. Thankfully Peter is just a passionate about giving back to the community as we are and didn’t mind helping us with our challenge and volunteering at the boutique in Atlantic Station. Here is a little synopsis about the charity event we chose to volunteer for. Free Fab’rik was created in the summer of 2009 by Dana Spinola, owner and founder of Fab’rik boutiques, and Kim Fettig Bartlett, a local TV news anchor. Dana and Kim devised a way for teens in need to experience the thrill of boutique shopping, without the pressure of price tags, by collecting donated clothing from the community. Several times a year Free Fab’rik holds a day of shopping sprees for the teens, from back-to-school to holiday shopping sprees. While clothes are the catalyst, the focus is on giving the girls confidence, love and mentorship before they head back into the “real world.” In the past two years they have worked with dozens of shelters, several school systems, and countless families to reach teen girls in the greatest need.

PQC FAMILIES PQC SENDS A WARM THANK YOU ON VETERAN’S DAY

BY MEETA CHAITANYA On this momentous day, the PQC family would like to graciously thank our nation’s Veterans, active duty Military and the families of the armed forces who have made huge sacrifices for us and continue to protect our freedom, our dignity and our families, as well as our businesses. As a company that is led by an ex-US Army combat commander, we know and recognize both, the glory of serving the nation in active service and the challenges of re-integration into civilian life. This is why our leaders accord tremendous value to a background that is rich with military experience. Please watch our Military Recruitment Video to Get To Know Us™. Fortunately, like us, many companies have begun to realize the essential values of integrity, courage, discipline, leadership and diligence that veterans bring to the table, and are looking at hiring more and more resources with a military background. Our free Webinars offer insights into other key job-oriented characteristics that are critical to success and applicable across industries. In our Webinars, we have conversations with participants on varying subjects including, but not limited to: goal orientation, process improvements, time management, risk analysis, business analytics, among others. We hope that you will engage with us, and enable us to make the ‘civilian business world’ a better place for all of us. Thank you - we appreciate you!

PQC’s CEO VISITS GROUND ZERO

BY CATREENA CABACUNGAN It is hard to believe that eleven years ago our nation was shaken to its core by the 9/11 attacks on New York City and Washington D.C. Since the attack, America stood together and brought those responsible to justice. Our CEO, Frank Payne, visited the 9/11 memorial site during the Thanksgiving holiday with many other citizens to show thanks and gratitude to the innocent lives lost in this tragedy and the lives of the brave who valiantly fought to save them. Though tragedy can be painful to endure, it is always easier when we endure it together. America and its allies showed true humility and unity through this time in history and we have emerged stronger and more resilient than ever. Please enjoy the photos captured from Frank’s visit to Ground Zero.

MACY’S DAY PARADE

What first started in 1924 as a parade held by the associates of Macy’s, featuring animals from the Central Park Zoo, is now known worldwide. For 86 years, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade has been the official festive kick-off to the holiday season. This annual event is viewed by more than 3 million people in New York City and more than 50 million people at home. This year, our CEO was one of the 3 million in attendance at the parade. NEW YORK WINDOW SHOPPING EXPERIENCE

Window shopping is an amazing experience during the Christmas holiday in Manhattan. All of the big department stores showcase their seasonal window displays. This experience has become one of New York City’s favorite tourist experiences. To prove how famous this experience is - and how serious the department stores take the holiday season - just watch some of your favorite Christmas movies like “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York” and “Miracle on 34th Street.”
