The Women’s Leadership Circle is a thriving philanthropic group of women leaders who support the mission and services of Planned Parenthood, and who are committed to ensuring that women of future generations are empowered to shape their own lives and futures. Circle members donate a minimum of $1,000 annually.
Dear Friend, Thank you for your interest in Planned Parenthood’s Women’s Leadership Circle. The Women’s Leadership Circle was founded in 2012 in the midst of a series of national attacks from opponents of access to women’s health care. In response, a group of local supporters and Board members sought a way to rally our community behind Planned Parenthood. What resulted was the Women’s Leadership Circle. Our group is diverse - in age, race, religion, and profession - but we all share a deep commitment to Planned Parenthood and to ensuring that the services that they provide remain available to future generations. We chose early on to decline anonymous gifts because it is only when we stand together proudly and publicly that we can advance the conversation about reproductive health care and sex education. Members enjoy numerous benefits and events throughout the year, including educational events, membership celebrations featuring national leaders like Cecile Richards, and lobby days in Jefferson City, Missouri and Washington, DC. More details on the benefits of membership are enclosed. If you share our commitment to ensuring the doors of opportunity remain open to women of future generations, we invite you to join us and the more than 270 other women from our community who have become members of the Women’s Leadership Circle. Sincerely,
Shanti Parikh, PhD and Dana Sandweiss 2015 Co-Chairs, Women’s Leadership Circle

“I support the Women’s Leadership Circle because it is critical for women to support other women, in order to ensure that we continue to have access to the information and services that are essential to making an informed decision about health care and reproduction. Being a member helps to keep me informed of the many challenges that women face today as we strive to maintain our health, care for our families, and be productive contributors to our world.”
SHARALYN SAKS Member Since 2012
“I remember college in the sixties—students marched and protested and had sex, but no one talked about contraception. Birth control pills were available, but no ‘nice’ unmarried young woman could bear to ask her doctor for them. I’m thankful that my daughters and son have Planned Parenthood here to ensure that they can receive the basic resources and information that will allow them to make informed decisions on their personal health and sexuality.”
EVENTS
The Women’s Leadership Circle hosts 4 events per year including summer and winter educational forums, a spring luncheon, and a fall membership event. Past guest speakers include: Cecile Richards President of Planned Parenthood Federation of America Judy DeSarno Director of Domestic Programs at the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation
Gloria Feldt Former President of Planned Parenthood Federation of America Alexis McGill Johnson Board Chair of Planned Parenthood Federation of America Anna Quindlen Board Member of Planned Parenthood Federation of America and New York Times Best Selling Author

“In this political climate, rife with constant attacks on Planned Parenthood and access to basic reproductive healthcare, I cannot stand by silently and let others take away basic human rights. I must publicly stand with Planned Parenthood and attest to its mission. I am proud to say that I stand with Planned Parenthood. No Matter What.
VIVIAN ZWICK Member Since 2012
“I believe that the Women’s Leadership Circle is important to Planned Parenthood because it brings together a group of women who have made important decisions about their own reproductive lives and who then can articulate our message to others.”

AT PLANNED PARENTHOOD, CARE IS MUCH MORE THAN THE SERVICES WE PROVIDE; IT IS THE WAY WE APPROACH OUR WORLD. WE CARE. DEEPLY. WITH RESPECT. WITHOUT JUDGEMENT. WE ARE UNWAVERING IN OUR BELIEF THAT PEOPLE DESERVE HIGH-QUALITY, AFFORDABLE HEALTH CARE. WE ARE TIRELESS IN OUR EFFORTS TO PROVIDE EDUCATION AND INFORMATION SO PEOPLE CAN MAKE THEIR OWN HEALTH DECISIONS. WE PROUDLY FIGHT FOR WOMEN TO BE ABLE TO GET THE REPRODUCTIVE SERVICES THEY NEED. WE DO ALL OF THIS BECAUSE WE CARE PASSIONATELY ABOUT HELPING WOMEN, MEN, AND YOUNG PEOPLE LEAD HEALTHY LIVES. NO MATTER WHO THEY ARE. NO MATTER WHERE THEY LIVE. WE WILL DO EVERYTHING WE CAN TO GET THEM THE CARE THEY NEED. BECAUSE WE BELIEVE THAT WHEN PEOPLE ARE TRULY CARED FOR, THEY WILL MAKE THEIR LIVES, THEIR FAMILIES – AND EVEN THE WORLD – BETTER AND HEALTHIER.
