


Prior Park provides a fabulous, unique venue for your wedding. Its beautiful architecture, impressive grounds and the very best views of the World Heritage City of Bath provide perfect photo opportunities.
Our range of offers include Exclusive Mansion House Hire and we only ever host one wedding per day. Venues include the Mansion House Reception, Covered Portico, Historic Terrace, Academy Hall, Palladian Restaurant & Garden Room.
A Bride & Groom Day Suite is available if required.
Licensed ceremonies for all religions and beliefs may be held in the John Wood Chapel, Mansion Reception, Bishops Library and Academy Hall. Outdoor ceremonies can be hosted, enjoyed on our unique covered Portico, overlooking landscaped gardens and the historic Palladian Bridge.
You are required to give notice to the BANES Registrar Team and will need to book a Registrar to attend on the day to complete the legal process.
Every Wedding at Prior Park Bath is tailored to the wishes and expectation of each couple. We provide a flexible and accommodating approach to the most special of occasions.
The impressive entrance hall is the perfect place to enjoy a drinks reception. Entered by an arched doorway, the spacious hall leads through to a substantial portico supported by Corinthian columns. From the portico, there is a wonderful view of the Palladian Bridge set in the valley towards Bath. There is an elaborate outer stairway leading up to the original Mansion front door.
The Academy Hall spans the length of the building corresponding with the Mansion entrance hall below and can seat up to 120 people. The room is decorated with fine hand-worked decorative plasterwork panels and pilasters. The two central doorways are flanked by Corinthian columns and topped by an ornate frieze. Three chandeliers hang from the coved ceiling, whilst the room itself offers fantastic views over Bath.
Situated to the east side of the Mansion Hall, this room was historically used for musical performances and as a meeting venue. The interior was beautifully designed by John Wood the Elder. There is a feature full-height wall to the right, decorated predominantly with two tiers of columns - Corinthian columns above and Ionic columns below which are arranged around a false pedimented doorway (the apse). Above the apse, is a large ornately decorated dome. There is a raised viewing gallery to the left as you enter the room and a central chandelier hangs from the vaulted ceiling.
We are now able to offer ceremonies on our beautiful, covered Portico, with steps sweeping down to Prior Park grounds, overlooking the Palladian Bridge and stunning views across Bath.
The Dining Hall seats up to 160 guests. The interior, a long gallery, has changed very little over the years, it has half panelling to the interior walls and, on the window side, it looks out across the stunning valley to Bath. The Dining Hall offers plenty of room for dancing and is great for evening events.
