Auction 121 - 10:00am Sunday 21st July 2013

PPA Preamble Welcome to Auction 121 and it is another large auction with over 4,300 lots. This is our first since the great 2013 World Exhibition held in May in Melbourne. We had a succesful show and it was very pleasing meeting old, and new, clients there. Many new books were published and we have a quite a few for sale. A complete list is printed on the back of our bidsheet and new books have been highlighted. A full list is also available on our website. Simply select Books for Sale from the top left menu on our website and then order the books you want, keep in mind that there are 2 pages of books on the website. As usual our auction starts with Cinderellas and continues with our popular Picture Postcard section. Remember that postcards are often placed in other parts of the catalogue so it is worth looking throughout the entire catalogue. If you have access to the internet go to our website and simply select Auction 121- by Topic and then, from the long list of topics (about 250 different), choose Picture Postcards to see all the postcard lots in the auction; and every one of them is illustrated. Amongst the PPCs are a nice range of Penguin cards including a Plasmon Biscuit advertising PPC (#50). To search for all the bird thematics go through the same steps but select Birds from the list. We then have Australian stamps, with many Roos and Georgian Heads all the way through to modern decimals, including varieties, postal history, postal stationery etc. Some of the more notable are a 3rd wmk 9d Die IIB with large flaw below value circle (#143), and a 1½ red Single wmk printed on gum (#213), a 1½d red Die II plate 1A impt pair (#270) and a 1d green Die II perf ‘OS’ (#289). To help with your specific collecting interests and to find the lots that interest you, we provide an extract service. This service saves you time and helps to keep our costs down. Simply provide us with your collecting interests. You can specify whether you just collect stamps, postal history or postal stationery, whether you collect mint or used, what periods you collect, what countries you collect etc. You can be quite detailed. In nearly all cases we can provide an extract which is well matched to your collecting needs. The most effective way of bidding is to use our secure website www.premierpostal.com. However you can always use the printed bidsheet that comes with the catalogue and fax or mail it to us, you can also phone your bids through if you prefer. We take bids any way they come.
