Enabling INDEPENDENCE
Celebrating DIVERSITY
OUR MISSION: To bring people of all abilities together to support, inspire, and respect each other & our unique gifts to the world while providing opportunities that foster a positive mindset & a higher quality of life for people with disabilities. POWER, Inc. is a non-profit publicly funded 501(c)(3) organization.
POWER, Inc. (People On Wheels Encouraging Responsibility) is a non-profit, 501 (c)(3) organization dedicated to breaking down barriers and assisting those with disabilities live life to the fullest. Our philosophy is quiet simple. We believe passionately that each of us have more potential and capabilities than we give ourselves credit for. Through our outings and activities, we endeavor to assist others in seeing their potential and helping them to decide to not just exist, but to live life! POWER hosts events throughout the calendar year, some of which include bowling, movie-meets, and cookouts. Our premier function is a daylong event called the Adaptive Sportsfest, held annually on the fourth Saturday of September at beautiful Lake Gladewater in Gladewater, TX. Sponsors, vendors and participants come from as far away as the Houston and Dallas areas for a day filled with fun and laughter. We provide “burgers and dogs” for every attendee that day courtesy of some amazing “grill-masters” that volunteer their time and equipment each year! Sportsfest activities include an archery clinic, hand-cycling, pier fishing, air rifle training and a kayak clinic. This event alone draws hundreds of folks each year & has continually grown. Some of our volunteer base consist of members of AMBUCS, Kilgore College Physical Therapist Assistant Program, Boy Scouts, and the International ALERT Academy (Air Land Emergency Resource Team). We are truly blessed to have so many well trained and caring individuals help us with this event each year. Bringing people with and without disabilities together helps to promote disability awareness and relationship building, all of which help to break down barriers for everyone involved!

All of these wonderful activities and events would not be possible without the support from several sponsors and corporations. We at POWER would like to kindly ask for your financial support to help us continue our mission. Included is a sponsorship form showing the various levels. Any support you can provide is tremendously appreciated and help us not only with this annual event but with our activities throughout the year. Thank you for your time and assistance!
