We safeguard the future of animal agriculture and its value to society by bridging the communication gap between the farm and food communities. We connect key food industry stakeholders to arm them with responses to emerging issues. our nation’s food security with damaging misinformation.
The Animal Agriculture is on a mission to safeguard the future of animal agriculture and it’s value to society. Our motto is connect, engage, protect. We connect key food industry stakeholders through development programs such as Animal Ag Allies and College Aggies Online. In 2024, we trained 46 new Animal Ag Allies and more than 278 College Aggies Online participants to be outspoken advocates for agriculture.
We engage food chain influencers and promote consumer choice by helping them better understand modern animal agriculture. In 2024, we held a farm tour in North Carolina for restaurant and retail contacts. We also engaged these contacts via quarterly webinars, reaching 330 people. We also released a brand new report highlighting U.S. animal agriculture’s contributions to U.N. Sustainable Development Goals.
We protect by exposing those who threaten food security with damaging misinformation. More than 81 new or updated resources were made available to members in 2024, including farm security and crisis resources, animal rights trends and insights to be aware of, and group profiles. In addition, the Major Animal Activist Groups Web and Radical Vegan Activism reports were updated.

• Produced and published a
poultry and egg curriculum kit for high school agriculture educators, distributing more than 500 kits throughout the state in the first month.
• Manage the NPIP program, one of the few states where NPIP is run by the State Association.
• Developed NPIP surveillance program with 100 percent participation by chickens, turkeys, duck and squab; and 90 percent participation by layer industry.
• Promoted a California wide program to “Eat California, Buy California Grown” on Sundays… which could generate more than $15 billion a year for California agriculture if every Californian just ate California Grown products on Sundays. This effort received major media coverage in both Northern and Southern California.
• Foster and continue support of quality programs where industry, California Dept. of Food and Agriculture and the USDA work together on biosecurity, NPIP, outreach and surveillance programs throughout the state.

Poultry is Mississippi’s largest agricultural industry, and the Mississippi Poultry Association represents all aspects of the industry.
Mississippi has 50 processing plants, hatcheries, feed mills, and egg farms, as well as 1,700 family-run poultry farms around the state. These businesses interact with banks, real estate firms, insurance agencies, farm supply stores, grain farmers, and plant and poultry house equipment manufacturers – many of whom are allied members of the association.
Mississippi produces about 710 million birds per year, ranking it the sixth largest poultry producing state in the nation.
The WeighTech line of bench scales offers processors the best of both worlds: functionality and durability. Our bench scales feature our industry leading MicroWeigh indicator, and is available in many sizes to fit your processing needs.
Mississippi exports about 15 to 20 percent of its production to 65 countries around the globe. Mississippi’s poultry industry and its employees pay an estimated $1.07 billion in federal taxes and $19.3 million in state and local taxes.

Annual Convention, Feb. 2026
Date association established: 1940
MISSION:
The National Turkey Federation (NTF) is the national advocate for America’s turkey farmers and producers, raising awareness for its members’ products while strengthening their ability to profitably and safely deliver wholesome, high-quality and nutritious food to consumers worldwide. NTF is the sole national trade association exclusively representing the turkey industry; its members account for more than 95 percent of all U.S. turkey production.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
• NTF spearheads the industry response to significant animal health challenges such as the ongoing outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) that began in 2022, avian metapneumovirus (aMPV), reovirus and more.
• The NTF Foundation launched its Reovirus Project to provide a financial reward for the development and successful marketing of a diagnostic tool and/or vaccine that aids in reducing the impact of reovirus on the industry.
• NTF hosts the industry’s premiere event, the NTF Annual Convention. Members gather in-person for educational seminars covering key issues impacting the industry, engaging guest speakers and networking opportunities. In 2024, more than 560 attendees joined NTF in Austin, Texas.
• NTF has presented the National Thanksgiving Turkey to the President of the United States for 76 years. Since the first presentation in 1947 with President Harry Truman, the annual presentation has become a highly anticipated tradition in Washington, signaling the unofficial beginning of the holiday season and providing the President and the nation an
opportunity to reflect publicly on the meaning of Thanksgiving and the bounty of American agriculture.
• NTF continues to execute the industry’s marketing programs, Turkey Smoke and Serve Turkey. These innovative programs are aimed at educating and increasing consumption of turkey through barbecue and recipe creation. Turkey Smoke has had a strong presence in the competition barbecue space and festivals for the last 7 years, including the annual American Royal World Series of Barbecue competition and the Q BBQ Festivals. Serve Turkey campaigns are powered through social media and online paid advertising.

We represent poultry stakeholders - including growers, integrators, genetics companies, and allied poultry companies - in legislative matters, advocating for their best interests. Moreover, TPA actively nurtures the next generation of poultry industry leaders by supporting higher education programs and youth initiatives. Through scholarships and legislative advocacy, we empower students pursuing poultry-related degrees and provide support to poultry growers and their families.
