The incumbent will lead the mining team in the cost-effective optimisation and extraction of the ore body in compliance with the provisions of the Mine Health and Safety Act, Minerals Act and its regulations. Managing the mining processes and ensuring ore body optimisation, strategic planning and tactical planning. Further areas of focus include SHEQ compliance, utilising the information management system, ensuring an enabling climate/culture, managing labour stability and performance against set targets. Conducting career discussions, ensuring customer satisfaction, managing continuous growth improvement and compiling relevant reports. Candidates must hold a relevant Degree or Technikon Diploma. Mine Manager Certificate of Competency coupled with 8 years’ mining experience and 3 years’ managerial experience. A valid certificate of fitness will be a requirement. SHEQ Manager E-Lower The incumbent will lead the SHEQ team in providing a totally integrated SHEQ function to the site in order to influence site management in embedding a culture of SHEQ excellence. Further areas of focus include managing people, utilising the information management system, conducting recruitment interviews and ensuring customer satisfaction. Engaging in relevant business processes, reporting on performance, facilitating the development of the Site Risk Management Plan, managing continuous improvement through operational excellence and handling departmental budgets.

TECHNICIAN ENGINEERING (THERMOGRAPHY) Candidates will need a Grade 12/N3 certificate, a recognised Electrical Trade Test Certificate and a completed course in Infrared Thermography, in order to be considered. We require a reliable self-starter with full computer literacy and English proficiency, who is ethical, diplomatic and able to cope well with pressure. Duties and responsibilities include: • Ensuring that friendly and constructive team-working relations are established and maintained • Ensuring that quality and quantity specialised technical outputs, through the utilisation of resources, are performed • Ensuring that provided systems, practices, methods and procedures are implemented, maintained and continuously improved • Ensuring that daily activities are planned in advance • Enhancing the decision-making process of the next upper level, raw data is provided • Ensuring that specialist knowledge and experience to solve problems during the shift are utilised • Ensuring that costs are controlled and wastage of resources are eliminated • Ensuring that provided technology is optimally applied • Ensuring that health and safety is maintained • Utilising skills and knowledge and applying them within the Engineering management systems, processes, policies and resources provided, to meet the short-term demands of the operation in order to remain competitive • Taking cognisance of applicable legislation and best practice principles, with the aim to perform the daily activities of the operation in a responsible manner, with quality and quantity of work as priority.
SUPERVISOR: MRM GRADE CONTROL (UG) This role demands a COM Advanced Valuation/Survey Certificate coupled with a high level of computer literacy in Microsoft Office and at least 2 years’ experience in grade control on an underground mine. A Blasting Certificate and supervisory experience in a mining environment would both be considered advantageous. Duties and responsibilities include: • Performance of general underground grade control duties to optimise gold recovery • Authorisation of excavations to be backfilled • Measurement of backfill placed • Reporting on quality of mining • Tracking of broken ore flow • Planning and control of vamping operations • Measurement of secondary support • Being responsible for own safety as well as others’ according to the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Mine Health and Safety Act.
OFFICER: MRM INFO SYSTEMS (SF) An N3/Grade 12 certificate together with computer literacy in MS Office are prerequisite requirements to be considered for this role. Previous experience in MRM or Survey Department would be advantageous. Duties and responsibilities include: • Assisting the Chief and Section Surveyor with general clerical duties • Capturing and checking input of Survey data for reporting and bonus schemes • Cleaning and wire framing electronic string data • Compiling and checking Survey reports • Maintaining and updating a central database for MRM shared information • Ordering, budget controlling and issuing of stores • Being responsible for own safety as well as others’ according to the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Mine Health and Safety Act. SHEQ Specialist (Chief Safety Officer) D-Lower The incumbent will identify and implement safety initiatives which will assist the site to safely attain its objective of zero harm. Mineral Resources Superintendent (Rock Engineer) D-Upper The incumbent will provide mine designs and mining optimisation service and solutions to rock engineering problems with the purpose of maximising safety and profitability within the designated area of responsibility. Ensure compliance with the provisions of the Mine Health & Safety Act, 1996 (Act No. 29 of 1996) and ensure safety and health standards are maintained. Ensuring SHEQ compliance, utilising the Information Management System (IMS), and identifying, reviewing and making recommendations to reduce or limit potential hazards. Reduce or eliminate rockfall hazards, manage the GPR system, undertake monitoring and investigations, and investigate new rock mechanics/engineering technologies and developments that may influence the safety or economics of the mine. Mining Superintendent (Mine Overseer) D-Upper The incumbent will optimise the mining operation and continuously improve current practices, methods, equipment and processes in order to exceed current production targets, reduce costs to the company and ensure compliance of provisions of the Mine Health and Safety Act, Minerals Act and its regulations. Further areas of focus include assisting in mining management, handling all strategic and tactical planning and providing maintenance management. The ideal candidate will have a Mine Overseer Certificate of Competency coupled with 5 years’ trackless mining experience and 3 years’ experience as a Mine Overseer. Maintenance Superintendent (Engineer) D-Upper The incumbent will drive the overall management, direction and continuous improvement of the asset capability assurance process through clearly defined strategies and objectives for maintenance of plant, equipment and facilities and shutdowns. This will include SHEQ compliance, managing labour stability, implementing systems and controls to ensure the plant is maintained, maintenance support, documenting and reviewing the plant maintenance strategy annually and ensuring it is aligned with the business plan and contractor management. The selected candidate will hold a BEng/BSc (Engineering) degree or diploma, a Government Certificate of Competency - Mines and Works and be medically fit as per organisational requirements. Maintenance Specialist - Trackless (Engineering) D-Lower The incumbent will continuously monitor, improve and report adherence to maintenance processes in a safe manner and in accordance with the business blueprints. This will include participating in risk assessments, significant incident investigations and finding ways of improving equipment reliability and planned and physical maintenance. Undertake preventative maintenance, ensure maintenance schedules are managed effectively, manage equipment availability, enforce safety systems, mobilise resources to attend to maintenance and breakdowns on trackless mobile machinery and align the maintenance effort with production priorities.
The selected candidate will hold a Degree/National Diploma Mech/Elec and have at least 4 years’ relevant maintenance experience and well as trackless mining experience. Knowledge of SAP PM maintenance is required. Ref No. SAM17503
