Police hear firms' concerns SENIOR police officer Laurence Taylor has been tackled by business leaders in Bognor Regis about town centre crime. Assistant Chief Constable Taylor spent almost two hours on a walkabout around the area to hear the concerns and comments of a wide range of businesses. He pledged their views would be taken into account and that Sussex Police would continue to work with its partners to try to ensure the anti-social behaviour
that had plagued the London Road precinct would not return. “There has been a mixed message today,” he said. “There is definite concern in the community and I recognise that. “There has been some positive comments that people have noticed what the police are doing and that there has been an improvement. “There are differences between some of the more serious incidents and the
underlying behaviour. We need to be able to tackle both.” But he warned the police could not solve the matter on their own. Partnership working was taking place with Arun District Council and that had made a difference with the young people who were behind the recent problems in the town centre.
