For St. Cloud Football, a King Reigns… again, Junior Bulldog Quarterback Logan King!
While a King is thought of as the chief authority over a country and its people, a King will also be the chief authority over the St. Cloud football team’s offense for a fifth consecutive year in 2023.
Logan King, a strong-armed junior, will begin his third season as starting quarterback of the St. Cloud Bulldogs – a position he inherited from his brother Garhett– a three-year starter from 2018-20.
Logan, 6-2, 215, is coming off a sophomore season where he threw for 1922 yards and 18 touchdowns in leading St. Cloud to a 7-3 mark. As a big kid, he grew up playing the offensive and defensive line in youth football, but after watching his brother Garrett play quarterback for the Bulldogs it made him want to change positions.
“Because I was bigger than most players my age, the coaches just stuck me on the line in Pop Warner football. I always wanted to be like Garhett, so when he started playing quarterback, I wanted to play quarterback.”
The similarities between the two careers have mirrored each other to date.
Garhett became a starter as a sophomore, throwing for 1078 yards and leading St. Cloud to a 4-6 record. Logan shared time early in the 2021 season as a freshman before then head coach Bryan Smart moved him into the starting line-up permanently. He threw for 800 yards as St. Cloud finished 4-6.

As schools, families, students, and local law enforcement prepare for schools to reopen, National Stop on Red Week, August 6-12, serves as an important reminder of the dangers we face on our roads and the responsibility we all hold to Stop on Red.
Between 2008 and 2021, an estimated 11,296 people were killed in crashes related to red-light running.
Using the theme “Zero in on Red”, the week-long event highlights the importance of road safety education, traffic safety legislation and enforcement technology.

Pain at the pump: gas prices continue to edge hover near $4 a gallon in
Florida
Monday’s state average of $3.82 per gallon is 56 cents per gallon more than what Florida drivers paid on Independence Day. Last week the state average reached a new 2023 high of $3.84 per gallon – topping the previous high of $3.72, set back in April. In Osceola County drivers are seeing gas prices as $3.82 for a gallon of regular unleaded.
This was the fourth consecutive weekly jump at the pump.
“Florida gas prices are now the highest since August of last year,” said Mark Jenkins, spokesman, AAA – The Auto Club Group. “These surging prices have been driven by a couple of factors. Extreme temperatures along the gulf coast has kept refineries from operating at full capacity. Globally, oil prices are significantly higher than a month ago, as OPEC production cuts cause global oil supplies to tighten.”

Orlando Health: Cottage Cheese: The Protein
Powerhouse That’s a Dreamy, Creamy TikTok Hit
More than 550 million views on TikTok can’t be wrong: Cottage cheese is hot. Blended into ice cream or bread dough or straight off the spoon, it’s fun to watch Gen Z discover the creamy goodness your grandmother loved.
But cottage cheese goes back further than that — curdled-milk cheese is mentioned in Homer’s Odyssey, and there’s evidence of its existence in the Middle East as early as 5,000 B.C. So why the hullabaloo now?
Some put it down to Americans’ insatiable taste for soft and creamy comfort foods. But cottage cheese has survived the eons for a good reason: It’s packed with protein. One cup can contain as much as 25 grams, the equivalent of a double cheeseburger. But as with that burger, there can be other things to be aware of, like the amount of salt and added sugar.

INJURY LAW
Draper Law: Which vehicles are more likely to be involved in serious or fatal accidents?
Sadly, serious and fatal accidents take place on a daily basis in Central Florida. These crashes can happen in a number of ways and can be caused by not following traffic laws, inexperience, intoxication, distracted driving, fatigue, and medical issues.
Statistics show that fatal car accidents can often occur based on the type of vehicle. You may think that sports cars are most likely to be in crashes due to their speed and performance. However, according to the NHTSA, it’s the everyday cars, trucks, and SUVs on the roadways that are involved more frequently in serious or even deadly accidents, with sedans and pickup trucks accounting for more than three-quarters of fatal accidents. If you drive out on the roadways, here’s what you need to know about which vehicles have been involved in many of the crashes.

Draper Law: Showing positive parenting
When parents of minor children divorce, it can be several years before their involvement with the court will end. Ideally, both parties will abide by their thoughtfully created parenting agreement and make changes which support their children’s wellbeing. However, as time passes and circumstances change, it is not uncommon for parents to disagree about what is in the best interest of their kids. A parent may also claim the other does not have good parenting abilities and seek to make legal changes to the parenting plan. In this situation, the other parent may have to provide evidence of their positive parenting skills.
The Draper Law Office has attorneys who are experienced with helping clients with child custody and parenting time issues and can help. HEALTH
We are all susceptible to falls. But, older adults have an increased risk of falling, and the harm sustained can be more complicated than just your average cut, scrape or bruise. Serious injuries may occur in the form of fractured or broken bones and internal bleeding.
Each year, more than three million people 65 and older are treated in emergency rooms for fall injuries. Unfortunately, fewer than half of them follow up with their primary physician about the accident, increasing the likelihood of another fall. Proper follow-up care can be instrumental in helping to identify and minimize risks for future falls.
WHY DO OLDER PEOPLE FALL?
Falls can occur for a variety of reasons. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) lists these common causes:
• Impaired vision—as you get older, your vision may not be as clear, making it more difficult to see tripping hazards.
• Health conditions–diabetes, heart disease and other health issues can affect your balance.
• Medications— sedatives and antidepressants can make you dizzy or sleepy. Other over-the-counter medicines may also lead to conditions that alter your balance.
• Weakness—can contribute to imbalance and falls.
• Vitamin D deficiency—a lack of bone strength can lead to weakness and falls.
• Foot pain or poor footwear—increase likelihood of tripping/falling.
• Hazards in the home—throw rugs that present tripping hazards or broken or uneven steps can increase the risk of falls.

The campaign is designed to help offset some of the financial stresses many caregiver families experience as the kids head back to the classroom.
