Neovation Way Officially Opens, Boosting Connectivity Between Neptune Road, U.S. 192, and NeoCity
On Friday morning at 10 a.m., Osceola County celebrated the official opening of Neovation Way, providing drivers with a new direct route between Neptune Road and U.S. 192. This newly constructed two-lane divided roadway offers seamless access to NeoCity, Osceola’s expansive 500-acre technology campus.
Osceola County officials and community leaders gathered for a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday morning to celebrate the opening of Neovation Way. This new roadway in Kissimmee promises to enhance connectivity and drive economic growth in the local community.
Neovation Way includes sidewalks, a shared-use trail, on-street parking, and bricked pedestrian crossings unique to the NeoCity campus. Additionally, a new traffic signal has been installed at the intersection of Neovation Way and Neptune Road to ensure smooth traffic flow and increased safety for both vehicles and pedestrians.
“Neovation Way is more than just a road,’’ said Chairwoman Grieb. “It represents a gateway to all of the opportunity and prosperity that NeoCity has to offer not only our residents but the Central Florida region, the state, and ultimately the U.S. economy. It’s part of our roadmap to ‘Be First to What’s Next!’”
Florida's Closed Primary System: What You Need to Know to Vote
In the upcoming primary elections on August 20, voters in Florida must remember that the state operates under a closed primary system. This means that only voters registered with a specific political party are eligible to vote for their party’s candidates in the primary election. Understanding this system is crucial for participating effectively in Florida’s electoral process.
WHAT IS A CLOSED PRIMARY?
A closed primary system restricts voting in primary elections to those who are registered members of a political party. In Florida, this means: Registered Republicans can only vote for Republican candidates. Registered Democrats can only vote for Democratic candidates. Independent or No Party Affiliation (NPA) voters are not permitted to vote in partisan primaries unless there is a Universal Primary Contest (UPC), where all candidates are from the same party, and the winner will face no opposition in the general election. WHY DOES IT MATTER?
The closed primary system impacts how and when voters can participate in choosing candidates for the general election. It ensures that only party members influence the selection of their party’s candidates, which can affect the overall electoral outcome and the issues that candidates prioritize.

Law: Which vehicles are more likely to be involved in serious or fatal accidents?
Sadly, serious and fatal accidents take place on a daily basis in Central Florida. These crashes can happen in a number of ways and can be caused by not following traffic laws, inexperience, intoxication, distracted driving, fatigue, and medical issues.
Statistics show that fatal car accidents can often occur based on the type of vehicle. You may think that sports cars are most likely to be in crashes due to their speed and performance. However, according to the NHTSA, it’s the everyday cars, trucks, and SUVs on the roadways that are involved more frequently in serious or even deadly accidents, with sedans and pickup trucks accounting for more than three-quarters of fatal accidents. If you drive out on the roadways, here’s what you need to know about which vehicles have been involved in many of the crashes.
