Positively Osceola Travels to Northern New York to Share Total Solar Eclipse Experience with Osceola County
Adding an exciting dimension to Monday’s upcoming solar eclipse experience, Positively Osceola has journeyed to Northern New York to share the rare event of totality with Osceola County residents back in Florida. As Central Florida and Northern New York residents look forward to Monday, April 8th, the teams’ mission is to capture the totality phase and convey this unique moment to those not within the path.
In Central Florida, spectators will witness the start of the eclipse at 1:45 p.m., with the peak occurring at 3:03 p.m. The phenomenon will conclude by 4:17 p.m., offering a partial but nonetheless breathtaking eclipse.
Conversely, viewers in Central and Northern New York will observe total eclipse commencement in Chautauqua County at 3:17 p.m., progressing to Plattsburgh by 3:25 p.m. This area will experience the dramatic blackout phase, a complete obscuration of the sun by the moon, for a short time.
Regardless of location, it is critical to prioritize eye safety while enjoying the eclipse. Solar viewing glasses or shields are indispensable for protection, as regular sunglasses cannot filter out the sun’s harmful rays.
As Central Florida anticipates a partial eclipse, Positively Osceola’s presence in Northern New York ensures that the full glory of totality will be shared with their community, despite the geographical distance.

Orlando Health: When You Should Go to ER for Your Child’s Fever
When your child isn’t feeling well and has a fever, it’s easy to fixate on the thermometer’s reading. How high is too high? Is it better to take them to the emergency room or to treat the fever at home?
A normal body temperature is 98.6 F. A temperature of 100.4 F and above is defined as a fever. In general, a temperature of 101 F or lower is a lowgrade fever, and a high fever is 102 F or higher. A high fever isn’t indicative of how sick your child is, however. There are some signs to look for to help you decide if it’s time to take your child to the hospital.

Did you know that sleeping between four and five hours a night and getting behind the wheel is the equivalent of driving drunk? This startling comparison opens the door to a critical discussion on the importance of adequate sleep for drivers.
New research indicates that skipping sleep could have dangerous consequences for motorists. Researchers at the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety analyzed data from a National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA) survey, which included a representative sample of about 4,600 police-reported crashes between July 2005 and December 2007. The AAA Foundation says the study is the first “to quantify the relationship between specific measures of recent sleep and the risk of crash involvement in a representative sample of crashes of the general driving population.”

Draper Law: Which vehicles are more likely to be involved in serious or fatal accidents?
Sadly, serious and fatal accidents take place on a daily basis in Central Florida. These crashes can happen in a number of ways and can be caused by not following traffic laws, inexperience, intoxication, distracted driving, fatigue, and medical issues.
Statistics show that fatal car accidents can often occur based on the type of vehicle. You may think that sports cars are most likely to be in crashes due to their speed and performance. However, according to the NHTSA, it’s the everyday cars, trucks, and SUVs on the roadways that are involved more frequently in serious or even deadly accidents, with sedans and pickup trucks accounting for more than three-quarters of fatal accidents. If you drive out on the roadways, here’s what you need to know about which vehicles have been involved in many of the crashes.

Orlando Health: Coffee, Energy Drinks, Soda –How Much Caffeine Is Too Much for Your Child?
What Is Caffeine?
With the growing popularity of fancy, flavored coffee drinks, young children are asking their parents for what was once an adult beverage. But should kids be consuming so much caffeine?
One study found that 73 percent of U.S. kids ages 2 to 11 consume caffeine daily. Soda accounts for the major source of caffeine, but it has been declining as coffee and energy drinks have been increasing in these age groups.
Caffeine is a chemical stimulant that can be found naturally in coffee beans, tea leaves, cacao beans, guarana berries and yerba mate leaves. It also can be made synthetically and added to drinks, food, tablets and supplements.
Most children consume caffeine in coffee, tea, sodas and energy drinks, but it also can be found in some hot chocolate, tea, candy, gum and flavored water.
Effects of Caffeine
When children and teens consume caffeine, it speeds up their central nervous system. This gives them an almost immediate boost of alertness and energy levels.
