Guardian Ad Litem Foundation of Osceola County’s Car & Truck Show Drives Support for Children’s Advocacy

The Guardian Ad Litem Foundation of Osceola County turned the Osceola County Tax Collector’s Office in Kissimmee into a spectacular exhibition of classic and modern automobiles on Saturday, attracting car enthusiasts and families alike. The annual Car and Truck Show, known for its display of some of the most exquisite cars and trucks from across Florida, served a dual purpose – delighting attendees and supporting a noble cause.

From vintage models, to customized muscle cars and semi-trucks, the show featured an array of vehicles that were as stunning as they were diverse, offering something for every taste. The event was not just about the cars; it was a community gathering that highlighted the Foundation’s commitment to the welfare of abused, neglected, and abandoned children in Osceola County.

“Each car here tells a story, much like the children we aim to help,” said one event organizer. “Today, we gather to create better stories for our county’s most vulnerable.”

The Car and Truck Show also featured local vendors, raffles, and a 50/50 drawing, all set against the backdrop of lively music and fun that kept the attendees entertained throughout the event.

You’re likely wondering if you’re somehow causing damage to your shoulder while sleeping. We spend about eight hours a night in bed, so it shouldn’t be surprising that sleep posture can contribute to back, neck and shoulder pain.

KUA Introduces Cutting-Edge Surge Protection for Enhanced Home Safety

KUA customers are now eligible to sign up for the utility’s new surge protection program, which can protect large appliances from electric surges.

The surge protection device is installed directly on the customer’s meter and diverts high-energy surges that can enter through electric power lines from coming into the home.

Homeowners insurance or renter’s insurance typically doesn’t cover appliance damage caused by electric surges, but customers now have the option to protect expensive appliances through KUA’s Surge Protection Program. Items covered under the program include appliances such as air conditioning equipment, refrigerators, washers and dryers, dishwashers, microwaves, and electric ranges.

Professional and collegiate athletes often benefit from the advice of dedicated nutritionists, who help maximize their performance. You’re probably not a professional football player or college gymnast. But the right diet approach can improve your daily runs, bike rides, weightlifting and other athletic endeavors.

The key is finding the fuel combination that matches your body’s energy demands, whether that’s endurance, strength or quick bursts. A dietitian can help you determine the ideal ratio of carbohydrates, fats and protein. With that in mind, let’s take a closer look at these key macronutrients.

INJURY LAW

Draper Law: Which vehicles are more likely to be involved in serious or fatal accidents?

Sadly, serious and fatal accidents take place on a daily basis in Central Florida. These crashes can happen in a number of ways and can be caused by not following traffic laws, inexperience, intoxication, distracted driving, fatigue, and medical issues.

Statistics show that fatal car accidents can often occur based on the type of vehicle. You may think that sports cars are most likely to be in crashes due to their speed and performance. However, according to the NHTSA, it’s the everyday cars, trucks, and SUVs on the roadways that are involved more frequently in serious or even deadly accidents, with sedans and pickup trucks accounting for more than three-quarters of fatal accidents. If you drive out on the roadways, here’s what you need to know about which vehicles have been involved in many of the crashes.

Orlando Health: Why Does My Shoulder Hurt When I Sleep? HEALTH

When you wake up in the morning after a long night’s sleep, the last thing you want is to feel pain or numbness in your shoulder.

You’re likely wondering if you’re somehow causing damage to your shoulder while sleeping. We spend about eight hours a night in bed, so it shouldn’t be surprising that sleep posture can contribute to back, neck and shoulder pain.

However, it’s unlikely that your sleep position is actually causing an injury. Instead, it’s more likely to be aggravating a condition you may not even know you have.

When you spend most – if not all – of the night in the same position, your body weight puts considerable strain and stress on the more sensitive parts of your body. There are several conditions that are particularly vulnerable to this aggravation.

TORN ROTATOR CUFF

A torn rotator cuff is one of the most common causes of pain and disability in older adults. Some 2 million people seek help for these injuries each year, but there are many who don’t even realize they have a tear until symptoms become more noticeable.

Your rotator cuff is a group of four muscles and tendons responsible for moving your arm. These muscles keep your arm bone (humerus) attached to your shoulder blade (scapula). The muscles help you lift and rotate your arm, making them important for common daily activities like getting dressed, combing your hair, carrying your children, and sports like golf, tennis and swimming.

When you sleep on the side with the tear, it can irritate the injury, potentially bringing it to your attention.
