Orlando Health: Why Do Babies Put Everything in Their Mouths HEALTH
WORLD, MEET MOUTH
Jean Moorjani, MD, FAAP Orlando Health
Does your baby put everything they get their hands on in their mouth? As early as 3 to 4 months of age, babies discover the world through their senses, with touch and taste working together to help them understand their surroundings.
It can be stressful for parents, but the milestone is key for a child’s development. And there are safe ways to give your little one freedom to learn and grow.
While older children and adults rely on touch, infants get a great deal of information about an object by putting it in their mouth. INJURY LAW
Draper Law: Which vehicles are more likely to be involved in serious or fatal accidents?
Sadly, serious and fatal accidents take place on a daily basis in Central Florida. These crashes can happen in a number of ways and can be caused by not following traffic laws, inexperience, intoxication, distracted driving, fatigue, and medical issues.
Statistics show that fatal car accidents can often occur based on the type of vehicle. You may think that sports cars are most likely to be in crashes due to their speed and performance. However, according to the NHTSA, it’s the everyday cars, trucks, and SUVs on the roadways that are involved more frequently in serious or even deadly accidents, with sedans and pickup trucks accounting for more than three-quarters of fatal accidents. If you drive out on the roadways, here’s what you need to know about which vehicles have been involved in many of the crashes.

Orlando Health: I’m Young. How Can I Prevent Osteoporosis without Drugs? HEALTH
Christine E. Jablonski, MD Internal Medicine Orlando Health
If your bones break when other people would merely bruise, or you’re from a family of women with osteoporosis, you should take action now to keep your bones strong — even if you’re years away from menopause. In fact, even with no risk factors, you’ll do yourself a favor by making lifestyle choices to keep your frame in tip-top shape.
WHAT IS OSTEOPOROSIS?
Osteoporosis refers to weak bones. As we age, our frame loses its heft, often to the point where a view through a microscope will show bones that resemble a honeycomb — in other words, full of holes. Those bones are more brittle than healthy ones, and therefore more likely to fracture upon impact with a hard surface.
