BookFest for schools About 2,500 Portsmouth pupils will meet top children’s authors when they visit their classrooms as part of BookFest. The festival will see visits from award-winning illustrator Hannah Shaw, children’s poet Paul Cookson, Dinkin Dings and Stitch Head creator Guy Bass (left) and historical author Paul Dowswell. A message from top children’s writer Guy Bass “Books! So much more than makeshift doorstops and fly swatters. I’ve been reading books for almost a year now and I’m having the time of my life. I still don’t know how they get all those words in such a gratifying order. And every one is different! It’s like pick ‘n’ mix for your brain. So come along to the Portsmouth BookFest 2011 and find out what all the fuss is about – the books are waiting for you...”
