NO PLACE LIKE HOME LAST MATCH RECAP Playing at home for a second straight week, the Portland Timbers defeated FC Dallas 2-0 before a sold-out crowd of 21,144 fans at Providence Park on June 10. Scoring a goal in each half, Timbers forward Fanendo Adi notched a brace in the win, extending his goal-scoring tally to eight in regular-season play in 2017. With the win, the Timbers (7-5-3, 24pts) have recorded a clean-sheet victory in back-to-back games. Additionally, the Timbers have lost just once in their last 13 home games (10-1-2), dating back to the 2016 MLS campaign, including their current four-game home unbeaten streak. Portland opened the scoring in the 32nd minute when Adi finished from just outside the six-yard box. The Timbers doubled their lead when added found his brace in the 72nd minute.
Providence Park opened on April 14, 2011, in front of a sold-out crowd in the Timbers first-ever home match as an MLS team. The club proceeded to sell out all of its regular-season home games in the team’s first six MLS seasons. Spanning the 2013 and 2014 seasons, the Timbers compiled an MLS-club record 22-game unbeaten streak (12-0-10) at Providence Park from April 6, 2013 to June 1, 2014. The streak ranks as the third-longest all-time in MLS history.
