PORTLAND, OREGON

VISIT PASSPORT LOCATIONS TO WIN

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO TO WIN:

• Visit at least 5 of the locations in your passport.

• Mark them off using the stickers that came with your passport AND take a photo of yourself at each location.

• Bring your passport to the Portland State University Welcome Center when you visit.

• Show us your pictures and passport and we’ll give you PSU gear to take home.

Choice of PSU gear will vary based on availability and could include a t-shirt, sticker, tote, or mug.

Powell’s City of Books

Portland is known for being the home of the world’s largest independent bookstore, Powell’s City of Books. Stop in to buy something to read and take in the smell of old books.

Donut or Doughnut?

Who has the best donuts in Portland (or is it doughnuts)? Blue Star, Voodoo, Sesame, Coco, Pip’s — there are donut shops on nearly every corner in Portland. Which one is the best?

Stumptown Coffee

Named after Portland’s nickname, Stumptown Coffee is one of the original coffee companies based here that helped establish Portland as a coffee destination.

Food Cartlandia

You have already heard about the usual Portland food staples — donuts and coffee — but how about trying something truly unique? Some of Portland’s best eats are from food carts, and many are right here on the PSU campus.

Bridgetown

One of Portland’s nicknames is Bridgetown because we have so many bridges (12 to be exact). Tilikum Crossing, Portland’s newest bridge, carries light rail, buses, cyclists, and pedestrians over the Willamette River.

Pioneer Courthouse Square

The park at the center of events, community, and all things Portland. Every year, Pioneer Square hosts more than 300 events a year bringing in 11 million visitors.

City of Roses

For more than 100 years, Portland has been known for its roses. Public rose gardens can be found throughout Portland, including at the Interational Rose Test Garden in Washington Park, Peninsula Park, and Ladd’s Addition.

Portland Ballers

Portland fans are arguably the most energetic and spirited fans in the world. Visit the Moda Center to see the Portland Trail Blazers in action or Providence Park to cheer on the Thorns or Timbers — both recent champions.

Public Transit

You have so many options to get around Portland. The Portland Streetcar is FREE for PSU students and provides access to a 16-mile radius around the city center. Ride the MAX (light rail) or bus to get further out — PSU students get a discount.

BIKETOWN, USA

Portland boasts nearly 400 miles of bikeways and is known as one of the most bike-friendly cities in the nation. PSU students are eligible for free & discounted access to Portland’s E-Bike sharing program — BIKETOWN!

Portland Museums

The Portland Art Museum is our neighbor on the Park Blocks. It’s one of the oldest art museums in the nation and the oldest in the Pacific Northwest. Take a trip across the river to visit OMSI, the Oregon Museum of Science & Industry, for some science-filled fun.

Forest Park

If you’re outdoorsy, you don’t even need to leave the city to get into the wilderness. At 5,200 acres, Forest Park is one of the largest urban parks in the nation — with more than 80 miles of trails for walking, running, and biking. You can even get there on public transit.
